- heyy these are the roughs that I did a while back for the now cancelled SATS map! I have since dropped this part, but I felt like I should share my roughs with yall because i am quite happy with the movement in the first scene! :))
I do not want to get too much into why i dropped this part and i want to make it clear i do not condone any of cheetz actions and it makes me really sad to know how poorly animators were treated in his projects. Animators join maps for fun/ practice/ enjoyment and imo the environment should reflect that.

please be respectful to one another! I am a firm believer in letting discussion happen as long as it stays civil and non-malicious. If this is not the case I will be turning comments off.
I really love the art style in this and the animation is really nice. It sucks to see this project fall apart this way but the talent is definitely here.
Seeing something that has become a comfort to me just fall apart like this is just so sad. It really is like losing a friend. This part looks absolutely stellar, and your animations are always a joy to watch. Slay :3
Great animation! SATS was my biggest inspiration to start animating and participating on MAPs myself. My heart is shattered to know It's never going to be finished, unless a rehost come in the future. I feel a little shitty for being so sensitive about It. Of course, I understand all animators choice to drop their parts. I hope CheetehZ learn from his mistakes, and I wish the best for y'all!

thank you as well for having answered questions regarding the future of SATS, not that we were owed explanations but it feels good to not be left in the dark.
it's a shame things happened the way they did, but it's a great lesson in a way. if Cheetz sticks around in the community, or decides to host collaborative projects again one day whether here or somewhere else, he'll remember what happens when you take your team and participants for granted.
I like to hope that someday, SATS can be rehosted (with new assets to respect the wishes of the pre production team who dropped), but I understand that it would be a lot of work to get there.

God the animation looks so good. Sucks that cheetehz had to ruin this project for everyone. I wish we could just make it public domain or rehost without any cheetehz involvement, but then these versions of characters are so tied to chee that it’s close to impossible to seperate the art from artist. Even if the map was rehosted it would feel like we were still endorsing chee and his behavior. Uhh it’s so disappointing, but hey I’m glad participants are free to leave that nightmare situation of their own free will. Sounds way better for your mental health than sticking around. Hope you can join other maps that are more fun and respectful to you and your talent.
I feel like it honestly should be allowed to be separated from cheeteh since… who were the people who contributed most to the maps completion? Certainly not cheeteh z! They didn’t even do the codas
@@misfit_raven4367Right! I was really rooting for this map cause I wanted to see just how far people could collaborate with each other. I wanted to know how they were going to do that big rotating scene or the cats all charging at each other. I hope Chee can just relinquish the map rights to the community it’s the bare minimum he can do. Wouldn’t make up for all the shit he’s caused, but it’d be something.
How did cheetah ruined the project didn’t they go to college? And cheetah did say one of they’re friends would rehost it

is there some kind of a statement about the MAP being canceled? i looked everywhere i could (twitter, tumblr, community tabs of relevant channels), but wasn't able to find any recent information
i know about the earlier incidents, but i was under the impression the MAP was still going, i haven't heard anything about a project cancellation
I think that so many people dropped that it would be hard to continue so it’s just considered canceled at this point. I haven’t seen any repost of the map and it’s a really complicated situation
@@CometWasHere ahh okay thank you for clarifying, i thought there was some specific announcement i was missing
the production managers/ team that was working alongside cheetz before everything happened said that they didn't want to make a public statement regarding it for their own sakes when they stepped down as to avoid rehashing issues, but it was said in the private map discord server that it would be cancelled (unless cheetz himself decided to do something with it, but almost all of the production assets have been pulled by their original artists so he would have to remake a lot if he does decide to do anything). obviously the public would have no way of knowing that unless participants said anything and I don't think anyone has made a real public statement yet so I dont blame you for not being able to find anything!

@@VixenLovelove great question! yeah, both storyboard sections and concept art pieces (like backgrounds) have been pulled as well.
Do you know if the map will be rehosted? I was hoping the other map parts that were completed wouldn't go to waste like that :(
I am honestly unsure as of now; most of the production team has stepped away from the project for their own reasons which is completely valid and understandable, and many have asked for their work to not be used if there is a rehosting. It's a sticky situation and I understand that not having work make it to a final map feels like a waste, but I and many others still see dropped parts as good practice. This opinion is obviously different between different people, but in this case, I am not sure how a rehosting would be approached with so much of the pre-production and production being pulled from use.

Did the map got discontinued?
Most likely since a majority of the artist left. It stinks but it is what it is. There’s plenty of other great maps in the work.
Wait what did chez do?? You don't have to go into details just say it in the most simplest way possible or not. I can understand why you wouldn't want to talk about it.
One of the parts in this MAP was fast and there were concerns of seizures and Cheeteh sort of tried to sweep it under the rug, from what I know
Yeah, Cheeteh posted a MAP part with flashing images and didn't include an epilepsy warning. That would normally be fine assuming that they'd add one after being asked to, but when people called them out on it they didn't handle it well at all and instead of just putting a warning in, they posted another (now deleted) video basically trying to excuse themself. After getting a lot of backlash they kind just of left all their platforms and most of their MAP participants withdrew. As far as I know that's the extent of it :/
also cheetehz had treated certain participants unfairly compared to others
the response to the epilepsy warning was definitely the beginning of the end. it put the production team under a lot of stress because they were in the dark about the entirety of the part despite having the map and its pieces attached to their names as they were basically "co-hosts" if that makes sense; cheetz decided to create part 127 without talking to his team and they were unaware of his responses to the criticism until it was already posted. That reflected badly on the production team and led to discussions happening in the private MAP server about the treatment of the co- hosts, participants, and the public viewers. It led to some documents being released of mistreatment of animators (being dropped and not being told why, rushed/ overworked, treated differently based on skill level, etc.) I know that there are at least one of these documents still up on twitter talking about participants' experiences within the cheetz map server and map environment. I'm sorry that I can't say more than that, but I really rather avoid namedropping to keep drama at a minimum and just try to explain why this is all happening.
