Not on Their Watch! APD Air Unit, K9 and Auto Crimes Enforcement Nab Another Car Thief

  • On 2/23/22, Atlanta Police observed a stolen black Dodge Charger with two occupants in Northwest Atlanta. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver fled. At that time, officers requested the assistance of the Air Unit (Phoenix), who responded and gained a visual of the fleeing vehicle. Phoenix maintained surveillance of the suspect vehicle and observed the drivers leave the stolen vehicle at 2805 Macon Dr. From there, the suspects ran on foot towards a nearby apartment complex and tossed several items into the woods, to include a handgun (later confirmed to be stolen), marijuana, and oxycodone. Phoenix was able to relay the actions of the suspects to units on the ground who quickly apprehended both suspects and recovered the abandoned property with assistance of the K9 Unit. The suspects were identified as Curtis Bryant (1990) and Marshaun Boyd (1984).
    Driver: Curtis Bryant (6/1990). He is a convicted felon.
    Charged with:
    -Theft by receiving a stolen vehicle
    -Theft by receiving stolen firearm
    -Possession of firearm in the commission of a felony
    -Possession of firearm by convicted felon
    -Felony fleeing
    - 2 counts of Possession with intent to distribute
    -Traffic charges
    Passenger: Marshaun Boyd (12/1984)
    -Charged with:
    Obstruction and had a warrant out of Covington PD for FTA on Child Neglect

    I "heard't" that they possess super-human powers when worn during a crime.

    Wow. These officers are professional. No losing their shit and yelling, “Get on the f-king ground.” They just seriously, efficiently catch the bad guys.
