Megaman Legends aka Running in Circles: The Game. But seriously, this game was my childhood.

Juno's voice turning a little deeper in pitch made that line delivery 100% perfect.
Dude, this was THE SCARIEST video game boss from my childhood.
"Oh, hell, he's got the contingency protocols for combat running--HOW ARE THERE LASERS COMING DOWN FROM THE CEILING?!"

The older I get, the more my appreciation for the Legends games grows.
The name “Legends” suits this series
I still find it creepy that in any other form, even in his last moments, Juno is so calm and never raises his voice or seems angry if you defeat him. But when you're on his second phase in his larger body, he suddenly sounds 100% more aggressive and sinister
He now has blood lust for mega man
Unfortunately, Juno could not have calculated that Megaman knew the Ultimate Technique: Running around in a circle while jumping and shooting.
When you finish the second game and fully realize just how dark this scene was, in so many ways. Volnutt essentially becomes the owner of the island and all it's inhabitants, genocide gets (ironically) postponed by Data, and Data (who is really Trigger is who was pretty much made for and probably repeatedly used for genocide) flat out murders Juno with a command to the computer. And then you realize that Trigger doesn't really need to hide anymore (by the end of ML2) and could probably just take control of his body back but clearly chooses to let Volnutt keep on living as his own person and being himself. Almost like Volnutt is Trigger's redemption for everything he was used for as a "Purifier." Or maybe it's a mercy that the innocent Volnutt won't have to live with the guilt of those memories.
The writers don't go into all of this overtly (probably because they still wanted this to mostly be a kids game) but the pieces of the puzzle are all there for the player to put together.

That's a pretty cool interpretation. One I think is probably the most accurate I've ever read or closest to the original intention for Trigger's character
Glad I’m not the only one who enjoyed the first game better. The sequel was way too dark and lacked the charm that Legends 1 had.

didn't help that everything was a breeze compared to this guy suddenly appearing. I think the fact that he was so effeminate and wanting to kill everyone made it ten times creepier as a kid playing this

I gotta be honest... Juno was an AMAZING final boss!!
Despite how he is the villain for only two or three scenes near the end of the game and was never seen until the last 15 minutes of the game... I think his character arc is what made him reedemable.
At first I didnt even know Juno was a guy... until reading the wiki... and I didnt give a single care about him... but after going back to his fight and playing it for the 3rd time... I realized how brilliant he is as a boss and a last second villain.
Juno starts out as this emotionless robot who was calm despite the fact he KNEW people would try to stop him from reinitilizing the carbons of earth (thus killing the majority of the humans on kattleox) so much so that he was willing to trap megaman vollnut and "back up his memories from eden" which would make megaman realize who he was and he would most likely help juno in his killing ways...
Juno after seeing the Bonnes rescue vollnut from his trap decided to take on vollnut himself in the hardest battle in the entire game....
He gets rekt in the first fight from vollnut... he after the damage from the first phase of the battle... juno's attitude and behavior takes a drastic turn from the emotionless bureaucratic robot model #3 into a screaming madman when he changes his body completely into his last battle physique. He
Duels volnut once more and after a difficult battle he is able to defeat juno but at the same time juno is able to confirm the program to purge the carbons and ALMOST got away with it!!! Data stops the program with his knowledge of volnuts lost memories and deleted juno's backup memory thus juno was gone for good. Amazing final battle too bad juno didnt appear in any other games....
The seeds of there being something bigger were all over the game. The mystery of the Main Gate, and myth of a tragedy happening. The very existence of the ruins and the programs that operate them. So when you finally meet Juno and realize he’s the villain, it works so well. Usually last minute final bosses don’t make any sense, but they did it perfectly here
I usually hate when games pull the villain at the last second bit but it works here because of the mystery that's been present since the beginning.
@@thaneros I'd go further to say, there were foreshadowing moments as well. If you go the museum, you can see the battle between a blue boy with a bow, and Juno in his 2nd form portrayed in a painting on the wall. A guy that I was friends with growing up told me that Megaman and Juno had battled before.
Despite how old the sounds are, I still love the sound this game made when your blasts hit a target. Not to mention Juno's jumps in that new body really made it sound like they'd skewer you.... Good job Capcom :p
I always loved how Data defeated Juno purely with Beauracrcy. Actually made that shit sound cool.
Much of the game was relatively lighthearted, but the foreboding music in each of the three abandoned cities plants the suggestion that you're opening doors that should be closed.
And then you get to Juno, and you realize that the lost history of this world is far more terrifying than you thought.
And now you'd better hope your pirate-busting weapons are capable of taking out the equivalent of a well-mannered terminal for Skynet.

The sudden surge of "complicated" technobabble always fascinated me as a kid. Even as an adult and I can understand those "big words," it still adds a certain element of alien-like magic to the scene.

I know this is old, but I get the feel that Juno knew it would be a losing battle to fight Trigger.
Makes sense Juno was fully aware of who Megaman actually is and Juno is not a combat unit Trigger is and was considered a very powerful one strong enough to battle Sera a Mother unit who held authority over Elysium and fought her to the point that both effectively died he more than likely was just trying to run the clock to fulfill his programming

Just beat this game. This final boss almost gave me a heart attack.
If you had the lazer his health literally just melts away. How I enjoyed this game, played it until I had everything upgraded.
If you think Juno was bad try fight Sara in the second. compared to her Juno is a common reaverbot.

I remember when Blockbuster closed they had a near mint copy of MML2 on sale for $10. I eagerly bought it, beat it with a friend and then sold it to EB Games for $1... If I could physically kick my own ass I would.

This game had me shitting bricks right from the start. The suspense from exploring the ruins and the sudden movements of reverbots tops any horror/thriller genre. Juno was creepy as hell so by the time you’ve been through the whole game you’re so psyched out that what should be an easy boss fight makes you a pants pisser.
This game defined my childhood. I replayed both games to the point the CD gave out. I couldn't understand the story back then (not native english speaker) but now... Jesus was it all dark and I love it! I hope I live to see a megaman legends 3

Man….so much memories. I thought i was the only one that ever finished this game. Thanks for making me remember those afternoons playing this without any type of guidance from the internet, just guts. Truly, thank you for making me remember.
Volnutt made some... questionable choices here.
#1: After Juno's first form is destroyed, only his head and shoulders are left. Volnutt shouts "No!" because he didn't quite finish the job. But instead of destroying the rest of Juno while he's defenseless, Volnutt just watches as Juno's head attaches itself to a more powerful body.
#2: After THAT body is destroyed, Juno is lying helpless on the ground. Instead of blasting him, Volnutt just stands there and listens while Juno gives the order to purge the island, not bothering to point his buster at Juno UNTIL AFTER HE'S FINISHED.
If Data hadn't intervened at that point, the reinitialization would have happened because Volnutt ALLOWED it to.
This series still had a lot to offer and explore. Many questions not answered and a cliff hanger at the end of ml2. Damn you capcom for canceling ml3. Now I'll never know what happened to megaman volnutt

With Tron and Roll having perfected space travel, the flooded world is no longer the prison it was. Frankly, it's incredible how good the dub is for this game, even if it's not the best, I wonder if all the budget for Megaman's dubs were spent in the Legends era, because every single other Megaman title is just dumb when it has english dubs XD

Yup and it only made this game better.
I prefer how they did it- they looped the beginning portion, and cut out the more complicated latter half, which for a scene like this is appropriate

I swear playing this at a younger age, it took longer to compete the game. This game is short but still a great game!

The fact that they intentionally chose a song composed by a human with such significance feels so intentional, like the bureaucratic systems only goal is to restore humanity despite it already existing through carbons. It feels tragic and suspenseful all at once.

I can't be the only one but every time I've played Legends 1 and 2 I always play through it without megaman's helmet. It just looks so off to me. So I tend to prefer the hair.

What do you mean? As far as aesthetics go, I like it. It adds flair. If you mean it's the "wrong" special weapon and he should have added the OP Shining Laser, Juno's so easy you can easily kill him with your weakest buster.

as far as usefulness go, bringing a heavy gun to an agile enemy is always a mistake. like with the arm canon (or whatsitsname, i forgot), it takes time to fire and it only fires a straight line, while also locking you in place for a few second. most of the time it will miss or it will leave you open to damage, like it in the video.
Shining Laser is of course the ideal choice, like you said. It also lock you in place, but its a beam weapon which lands hit instantly and also ridiculously powerful with unlimited energy source. but also, like you said, a buster is enough, as i have done it myself as well.

I've never played Megaman Legends are Megaman and roll siblings in this game or are they friends
just friends, this series is like thousands of year in the future of megaman x and zero saga, in this world all the human are dead and the people of the earth are another life form knows as carbons(basically they are like human but they can change parts of their bodys with mechanical protesis) the real humans placed them in earth to make it habitable again because the wars of megaman x and zero made it unhabitable, megaman in this saga is machine created for those humans and he took the form of a baby after a fight, then the parents of roll found him and he live with them roll and his grandpa

MML2 has that horrifically boring and tedious Water dungeon that prevents it from being as good as MML1 for me. MML1 is a more simple game in it's nature, but that means it cuts out more of the bullshit for a better gameplay experience. Also, MML2's didn't give us as much moments from the Bonnes like MML1.

I wouldn't say that's a dumb idea, but I feel like most fan made games will lack the artistic quality of the developers. Capcom and EA pretty much prove money can detract from actual quality of good content. You might say, if you don't like the company then don't buy their content, I find this logic ridiculous. Like what if a company legally owns specific artistic content I actually like?
it's hihahaba well, most of us never bothered to buy x7, x8 zx, command mission, and maverick hunter x. so it is partially our fault. not saying i didn't buy them all, but they did very poor in sales.
The only problem with the final boss, is that he’s too easy. I can beat him effortlessly without taking any damage.

@@broly7784 What a pretentious douche... Bach's fugues have been used in horror films for ages, and they are supposed to be played on an organ, so he isn't wrong in saying this particular fugue is "creepy ass church organ music." Toccata and Fugue is the first to come to mind, obviously.

They were specifically chosen because of the climactic cadence within the songs. Does the final boss of a game not deserve to have a good, climactic, creepy fugue to compliment the climactic, creepy demeanor and setting of the final battle? This fugue in question is a creepy song, and the developers chose well. Yeah, it's Bach, but don't act like OP doesn't know anything just because you know more about a particular musical topic.

What's the connection of Megaman Juno & the boss in Megaman Legends 2? I play both games but dont really understand the story.
They're not related.
The final boss in ML2 is Sera, the Mother Unit in charge of Elyseum.
While Juno is just an Ancient in charge of Kattelox Island.
The connection is that Sera is one of the original Units that watched over the Carbons (humans). The Master (an Ancient) was the genetic source for the creation of the Carbons.
Juno was a Bureaucratic Model, designed to oversee a specific population and monitor growth rate and development. After reaching a certain number in population, a Bureaucratic Model was programmed to Reinitialize the populace; in essence, vaporizing them so new Carbons could be created, and the population indefinitely controlled.
They're connected as they both come from the same Ancient Civilization and have pretty much the same function, albeit on a grander scale for Sera.
