  • Back in late 2020 I got a job for a local garage called Asele Bilservice, restoring this 1972 Mercades w108 280SE. It was owned by an American guy who moved to Sweden and brought the car with him. His mother owned this from new so its been in the family for a while and carries a lot of sentimental value to them.
The car was in a rough state when I started on it. The engine required rebuilding, the transmission also. Power steering wasn't working, the fuel mechanical fuel pump required rebuilding. It had lots of electronic issues, windows didn't work, broken wires, the sunroof was completely seized. The rear axle was leaking and damaged and along side everything mechanical needing repairing, replacing or rebuilding, cosmetically it needed stripping down and restoring. The worst part was that almost ever chrome detail, window and external part has bas overspray on it from a previous paint job.
Anyway I thought I would show you the completed vehicle as its taken almost 3.5 years and a few of us to get it looking this good. Its certainly not perfect as a show vehicle but that was never the intention as its will be a daily driver.
I'm back making normal content again but had to put down a few weeks just to get this finished for the mid summer.
Thanks for watching and for your support.

Car looks great! It's tough as hell to get the used anal bead smell out of upholstery, you have my sympathy.
One question on the tilting fridge slide out. Does the compressor of your fridge work when off level or will you have to turn it off when you tilt it? Every one that I've seen sounds like a meth head playing pinball when you lean them.

I couldn't hear a single thing you were saying about that Mercedes over the volume of that loud ass sweater you were sporting! Glad you're ok whatever it was, that car looked as though you'll be needing some heavy doses of penicillin and at least a couple of aids tests after being in it! 🤒👍

Mike you are a Wizard! They picked the right guy to restore this classic. I am restoring a 69' Honda CB350 Super Sport motorcycle and I do have a lot appreciation of yours and the others work. Hopefully no gangbanging happened on my 350. 😜

You should work on vehicles for a living, you're not too bad at it 😄😉
    All those jokes though 😂
I could do with some restoring myself, I'm old and knackered, I might even be scrap worthy 😬
