Bus scene with Kim i will be mad if she doesn't win an award for that scene alone i watched thus episode twice in one day and cried that scene just amazing
'The Divorce' section of this video is one of the better analyses of their breakup, and Jimmy more broadly as a person, I've seen yet... Something funny about him is that he actually has all the traits of a would-be addict - he's just one of those go-getter people that picks up a phone and a bouncing ball instead of a syringe or a pipe or a pill. He has to block out his thoughts and create almost a new identity, or a character for himself, in very much the same way an addict will, given the things they may end up having to resort to doing, depending on the extent of their addiction. He even uses some of the same excuses for his immoral behaviour the way an addict will. It's uncanny, really... The 'Saul' character protects Jimmy the way drugs protect a junkie. Great writing.
And people thought seeing Kim again would ruin the impact of their break up. It really did change how we viewed the events of breaking bad for the better.
I loved this episode. Not perfect, but gears of emotions to watch. Agree with BCS friends: Kim crying on the bus was a classic. Did you notice the 2/3 second hand of support from another member of the public? So hope for us all.
Not sure I agree that Kim is consciously choosing to "punish" herself, if that is what you are saying. I think she came to the conclusion that her thinking and choosing could only lead to bad paths, and she wanted to leave bad paths, so she chose to stop thinking and choosing as much as possible. It's less punishment and more a practical choice ... If there is one thing you can say about Kim, she is a disciplined person. She has now disciplined herself to avoid making any choices.
Nooo its clearly punishment. They said so in the adter show its self. Even without it, its clear shes trying to punish herself for the excitment that got Howard killed and it wasnt enough. Thus throwing herself at the actual fire and confessing. Rhea said "shes clearly miserable and thats kind of the point".

@@genericsavings i don't know about picking one or the other, I enjoyed different things in Granite State and Felina. But it's really interesting that I find parallels to both Walt and Jesse in Kim. That’s exactly what I thought during the last scene that this was a guy who can talk himself out of any situation but here he couldn’t do that. Maybe it’s because he’s now in too deep or maybe it’s because he’s not what he once was.
Other have pointed out that Kim is dealing with PTSD and raging guilt. If she can get through whatever comes of her affidavit confession, she can move on from the limbo state she is in now. But it will take a lot of work, and probably therapy.
It’s amazing how connected we are to these characters. I feel scared for them, shame, fear. I have literally teared up at the thought of what is going to happen to Gene. Jimmy showed when “I trusted you” was muttered. Wow.
Love how this episode made me rethink a lot about Walter White and Breaking Bad as a whole (even though he was never mentioned even once). Jimmy did so many infuriating things in this episode. - He said mean things to Kim in his office. - He (kinda) harassed Kim on the phone. - He “almost” killed two people for his selfish purpose. These are enough for the audience to hate him. However, the very same audience are praising Walter White as some kind of badass figure for doing this - He said mean things to Gretchen (his ex gf) thanks to his own insecurity. “F-ck you” - He harassed Gretchen and Elliott by invading their home and threatened them to make them provide his drug money for his family while making them fear for the rest of their lives even though they did nothing wrong at all. - He sent Jesse to kill Gale Boetticher to save his own ass. He also watched Jane die without saving her. Some said that the reason him watching Jane die is justified because Jane was “blackmailing him”. Marion was also blackmailing Jimmy but Jimmy let her do it anyway and somehow he is more evil than Walt. Crazy how a framing of both shows make the audience considered the actions of Jimmy being worse than Walt even though Walt is way way worse objectively. I think it’s mainly because unlike Gretchen, Kim is a main character so we sympathize with her more. Same as Marion, who seems like an innocent old lady compared to Jane, who’s a drug addict (albeit she’s also innocent).
I've never once hated Saul/Gene, even now, and he has a long way to go before he's as evil as Walt. Jimmy, for as bad as he is, hasn't directly murdered or ordered the murder of anyone. Even Mike is more evil than Jimmy.
Jimmy and Walt are both geniuses, most of their personas through the shows. Walt is a genious as the founder of Grey Matter, as a chemistry teacher, and as Heisenberg a meth kingpin. Jimmy has a natural talent to deal with people, sense their intentions and he is super intelligent to make use of that. Throughout Breaking Bad, there is only one episode, when Walt looses his brilliance and is helpless and trapped: Granite State. Jimmy on the other hand looses his brilliance as Gene. As geniuses in normal mode they enjoy themselves and their supreme intellect. Walter puts it in the last episode like that: "All the things i did... I did it for me. I liked it. I was good at it. I was alive." The same goes concerning Jimmy, he was alive and he is also alive after he puts on his ring and becomes Saul again. He is dead while he is Gene, its like a self inflicted prision for him. Jimmy's actions are very logical as are Kim"s from their own points of view. Kim is obsessed with guilt over Howards dead and that they caused it, which is not true. Firstly Lalo shot Howard, secondly they only caused the disgrace of Howard. In that she is truely guilty, more than Jimmy, she wanted to humilate Howard much more than him. Jimmy wanted to stop couple of times and continued only because of her insisting to do that. So Kim can not outrun her guilt and makes a logical decision from her point: she leaves everything, including the man she loves. She knows that she can't withstand the temptation to abuse their collective abilities, so she punishes herself and her husband for the whole thing. Jimmy / Saul was on board but it was not him giving the directions and he would have never became a that criminal Saul Goodman like seen in BB if Kim has remained with him. But with Kim leaving he has nothing left, so he turns to a thing in which he is good at and enjoys it, grows more and more reckless. I also completely understand his behaviour while Kim than wants a divorce. The phone call later to Kim is a cry for help from Gene and he only gets a rejection. That starts him on the slippery slope to become Saul Goodman again. He did not kill two people because he is Jimmy / Saul not Walt. While Walt could always deal with his conscience and justify killings, this was never the case for Saul. I did not see the finale yet, so I hope there is something unique happening. To Walts actions: 1. Do not forget that Gretchen left him for Elliot. 2. Gretchen and Elliot tried to paint a better picture of themselves and lied about Walts contribution. (they want to get rid of him, only Walt insists that they are partners). Jesse then spends a lot of time hiding and only then he gets called by Walt to kill the man that wanted to replace him. I wouldn't call that selfish, more like even. 4. Jane clearly blackmailed Walt and Jesse was on a self destructive heroin trip with her. Saving her would have probably give them only months to live. Walt acted logical, however surely heartless. The situation was different from Gene meeting Marion. Walt only had to do nothing to let Jane die while Gene would have to actively kill Marion.

I don't see a happy ending at all. And just leaving him in prison seems like an easy, boring ending. It's gonna be a lonely death for Jimmy with him reflecting back on the choices he made. Perhaps he'll get injured trying to escape the police and bleed out or freeze to death in hiding. Hate to say it, but I can't see any other ending making much sense.

Wait so are we supposed to feel sorry for kim?... She caused all of this... Hate when women leave and hurt like that and then men are supposed to make their way out easy and painless... What about jimmy?
No she didn’t. It was Jimmy who brought Lalo into their lives. Lalo didn’t force Jimmy to be the bagman. Jimmy was about to leave the jail, then Lalo said that the bagman would get 100,000. Jimmy turned back. The fateful turn. Howard on his own would’ve recovered as everyone knew. Jimmy didn’t do it for Kim either. When him and Mike leave the Kettleman’s million, Jimmy says he’ll never do that again (leave money on the table). It’s funny how people conveniently forget about Jimmy’s part in Howard’s death, which was more significant and deadly than Kim’s. I’m talking about one episode here, but generally where’s Jimmy’s responsibility and agency. Tired of this Garden of Eden approach.

Cheryl isn’t going to feel any better hearing it from Kim’s mouth than she would reading it on her own.
BB universe is all about action n consequences
no choice road 😬
Miracle Whip, not Cool Whip
Honestly the saddest ending for the show would just be him wiping the slate again with the vacuum repair guy.
part of me thinks they'll go for that - he just continues to dissapear over and over, any semblance of self slowly falling away
Cool whip ≠ miracle whip....
do i know u?
Yo it’s the dbd guy
It’s miracle whip! Not cool whip! cool whip is a non dairy “whipped” topping. Miracle whip is a sweet dressing like mayonnaise. It’s gross! Not a substitute for mayo
Didn't know AZHYMOVS had a second channel
AZHYMOVS!??!?
you sound like the dead by daylight guy
Aren’t you supposed to be playing Dead by Daylight
The depiction of her Florida surroundings is absurd and over the top.
Yeah it look like the 1950s, it's bs
@@dumfriesspearhead7398 intention matters dude...
