Amazing - thank you so much. When my car didn't respond to my fob we called the AA who spent all morning and told us the digital control box had gone and we needed to transport the car to a BMW specialist. This specialist charged us £190 and said nothing was wrong as the key and everything else seemed to work. A week later, the problem arose again, preceded by the same error warnings. Your vid has saved me time, money and a lot of frustration. Sending every good wish your way.
My car gave me a warning on the dashboard that key battery was running low.
Thanks! I wasted 10 minutes trying to get the back on "the intuitive way" not the BMW engineered way. 🙂 Your video cleared that up. That's why one should watch to the end.
Took me a while to work out the BMW way of getting into reverse. Almost broke my arm
Concise, clear and well demonstrated. Great video.
Brilliant! Clear, concise and straight to the point. Excellent video. The comment regarding using the physical key in the other hole is also correct but I found this needed a remarkable amount of force and preferred the method in your video. Thanks for taking the trouble.
So helpful thank you! Was able to change the battery in the parking lot of the auto part store with your video 😀
This video was so helpful! It was so simple to do once I had seen your video.
Thank you so much for this video, exactly what I needed!
Very straight forward and clear. Thanks
Thank you. Very helpful.
Claer, concise instructions and video. Many thanks.
Thanks for the video, absolutely life saving 😁
I watched this video first but after studying the key fob this is how I opened mine. If you pull the key out and push it in the rectangle hole on the opposite side the key came out, push firmly, this will unclip the lid and you can flick the battery lid off with your finger nail using very little force. This worked for me with exactly the same key fob, I figured this was how BMW designed it to be opened but I could be wrong.
thanks for this tip it pops off easily when using this technique 👍🏽
Yeah i think no one realised that it's actually supposed to be opened with pushing the clip out in the hole (i guess)
Thank you!
This saved me so much time as I was about to bring out a knife trying to figure out how to pry off the back of this fob.
Thank you! Well done!
Putting the back on - great tip
Thank you very informative
Thank you 🙏🏽
Thank you 🙏
Thank you! :)
Thank you
Bingo, thank you very much!
Thank you so much
Top man. I was just about to prise it apart on the centre line! 👍🏻
Thanks! 👍🏼
Thanks.
Thank yooou!
still helpfull to this day !
thank you
Exactly the solution I’m looking for. Thank you so much sir!
Timpson tried to charge me £19 to do this. So glad I saw this video
Thank you - the manual didnt explain as well as you!
Now I feel like an idiot for taking my key to the dealership 😂
Thanks for this video!, it was helpful
Thanks. I was able to replace my battery. It works to unlock the door, but when I go to start it…it says the remote is not detected. I’ve held the remote to the steering column to start the car. It works, but when I shut off the engine it says remote not detected again. Do you know what I should do? Thanks
If you remove the battery. Does that mean it’ll stop transmitting a signal? ( I.e preventing from thieves from doing relay attack and stealing the car )
Do you have a link or video to how you painted the key trim blue?
That is stock, not customized
Battery replacement easy, thanks. How do I restore the lock sensor to avoid using key fob buttons?
I don't have that button that's there as the key pulls out
Do you know how you open the key up to get at the circuit board please?
That would require using a razor blade to cut the glue seal around the whole perimeter and then prying it open. Not easy or intended to be done. You’d also have to glue it back shut
@@LifestyleLab_ it got wet and stopped working. urgh
So I've popped the battery out to try and let it dry
@@danhaz3444 put it in rice, go go go!
@@LifestyleLab_ it's now in rice
My bmw key has blue
So does this one....
Wow nice, I thought I'd have to take it to the dealership and pay (like everything else BMW)
So painfully true....lmao
If you don't mind, how much did they charge you?
@@MegaTron-zh3sn bmw wanted £60 for mine hahahahhaha
That's why I do everything on my beamer by myself. Even if the engine needed a major overhaul I'd be the one doing it. It's just so much cheaper and it's always great to learn. Over the years I've learned how to do basically any repair
