Foundation is a grid-less, laidback medieval city-building game with a focus on organic development, monument construction and resource management.
As the newly appointed lord or lady of a land still untouched and full of potential, you are given the opportunity to create a prosperous medieval settlement as you envision it, managing your resources and growing population, whilst being challenged by narrative events, quests and missions, from across the kingdom.
From very modest beginnings, build rudimentary workplaces, extract and store resources, establish trade routes, erect majestic monuments and before long... a bustling city will emerge in your new found lands!

Hee Jonti, I've been following you for I don't know how long now and I sure missed your daily uploads! The break did you well, I think. You seem to be more focused, both in game as in the reason why you're on RUclips. It creates a sense of urgency around your videos and by doing so I feel so much more engaged. Happy you're back to the channel - cheers to Geekism!

Hey Jonti! Here's a thought, for the pilgrimage path you could maybe use the forbidden land brush to paint a nice winding path and force them that way? I think you could get a path more to your liking that way instead of their straight lines between the rest places. Been great having you back, really enjoying the content!

I spent the whole time you were building the Church decorations waiting for you to realize how much money you were planning on spending on just those stone fences!

      Fancy walls are hella pricey!

Patiently waiting for Jonti to finally clear the discoveries list in the bottom left ;) Might also help to not miss any quests, people waiting for an audience, or new villagers!

Loving all the foundation videos! A few tips - When youre building the stone wall pieces around the church, theres a post you can use to make 90 degree angles with snap, they also look good slightly curved! When youre placing a bridge.. once both sides are placed you can move / adjust it from either end, instead of deleting it and starting again. Theres a button somewhere next to your money in the top left that you can click or right click to see how much tax is sitting in the houses (might just be the number), useful for maximising your tax collectors. Lastly the large list of tips in the bottom left corner are just "links" to the help menu, you can dismiss them by right clicking them and it will make it easier to keep track of the important notifications :)

Hi Joni. So pleased to have you back on the channel after your break. i have got so many tips from you over the years and I have just recently come back to playing Foundation, so this set of videos came at a perfect time!
I just wanted got let you know that something has gone wrong with the order of the videos in this playlist. I started playing them in order and was very confused for a while!
Anyway, keep them coming - really enjoying this series.

Unless they have since changed it, your bailiff can survey any rock pile that is within three tiles outside of your Kingdom's border, and that they are able to physically access it, which means bridging over any rivers (which you are able to do outside your Kingdom's borders as well)
Also, I wouldn't sweat too much about the wooden bridges as you will likely want to replace them with stone bridges once you unlock them, and they come with fancy decorative things like gatehouses and portcullises.

Oooooh.... now I want stone bridges everywhere!

Obviously you’ll need money to build the structure, but if I remember correctly from when I played, I basically used the military outpost camp thing to send dudes away to pillage or fight the good fight or whatever they were up to and they came back with an injection of money lol which acted as a nice little pay day

    • @Geekism

I’ve got to ask as my ocd is going crazy, lol. The menu list in the bottom left corner of the screen, could you possibly just right click on all the old notifications to clear them off. It not only reduces the size of the window, but makes it easier to keep a track on current quests.

    • @Geekism
      @Geekism  3 месяца назад +1

It wasn't something I realized you could do lol, I get rid of them all in the next episode (that is out now)

Regarding the cobbled path, there is a neat little mode that give a beautiful cobbled pathway instead of the current dirt path. I looks really nice and any mods are simple to use. It doesn’t affect the gameplay so it’s not a cheat, it just looks so much nicer than the dirt paths.
