T&H: This is great. Fun...tells a story...informative. In the sea of endless RUclips watch vids, this stands out as different and - in many ways - better. Thanks for creating & sharing!
I received the 1675 from my uncle’s collection when he passed a few years back. I’ve considered wearing it, but it needs links removed. It has rivet links, so it’s been tough to find a place that is comfortable removing them. While I search, can you tell me whether removing a couple of links (and holding onto them of course) would reduce the value of the watch? Great video!
The newer 16750 seems to have more patina than the older 1675. Speaking of which, why is the lume cracking on the (e.g. 2:46 the inverted pyramid 12 o'clock marker)? If it from sun or moisture infiltration?
I love this vid! I’ve got a 1675 circa 1968 I inherited from my dad. I sent it to Rolex years ago for service because of a jewelers suggestion. Not sure if this is the reason but my luminescence isn’t custardy yellow or cracking in any way. Does this mean they switched out the dial?
Almost certainly that's what happened. Rolex is notorious for replacing parts with a patina in the same way your phone or laptop always wants to give you updates you didn't want to begin with.
Never too late to comment (on an early post). The video implies that the 16750 transitional model only had the dial with lume plot surrounds. In fact, the first few years of 16750 production (roughly between 1981 and 1984) had dials amost indistinguishable from those on the 1675 i.e. without gold surrounds. Both 16750 models were eventually available at the same time until the 16760 and then the 16710 series emerged in the late '80s.
and papers can some one please tell me what it price s is today ? On the official papers the watch was bought for 750 dollar in 1982 , and i am the second owner now since .....can some one tell me the price today sorry for my bad english
I love the way you told the story of this series of watches, very cool. I love the GMT Master, it is such a beautiful watch. Thank you Christian and Anna for such an entertaining, informative and beautifully made video :)
Good job with the bravery doing these video's Christian haha, can't be easy. Also THANK YOU for adding a search feature to your sold vintage watches on your website, makes research an absolute pleasure now! Super useful
I thought the same thing! Christian’s taking it back to the days where flying was a luxury and people dressed nice for the occasion. Class class class!
raising the bar, for yourselves and the knowledge of the community. This vid was as much a service as it was entertainment IMO. T&H commercial interest felt like a distant priority which made it that much more effective!
VRFM = Vintage Rolex Field Manual - Chevalier Edition a 266 pages expanded hardcover, a collectors' manual by a vintage wristwatch fan for vintage wristwatch fans !
Amazing video and work here, guys. I can watch these videos all day. Hope the watches swiftly sell! I’ll definitely contact you guys when I’m looking to buy!
Took my first flight on “youth fare” when I was 13. Worked a job that took me all over the 🌍 in the 1980’s & 90’s. Retired in 2008. Took 3 flights since then. Now at age 65, if I can’t drive there, I won’t go. NO MORE ✈️ FOR ME‼️. Watches on the other hand, still hooked 😁
In the 1950s and the 1960s, flying was indeed expensive, Back then, a Rolex was not cheap, but at least affordable, probably costing less than 1/2 of the cost of a trans-oceanic flight. Today, air travel is really cheap, but that same Rolex has become unaffordable to most people.
Very nice. You could've gone into a *lot* more depth if you were really going to cover the history of the GMT Master, but I suppose that wasn't the point of this film (but it would've been nice - you shouldn't be so afraid to make longer videos, e.g. ~30 mins., which it seems you are). I think you would've looked better had you taken the sunglasses off once you got indoors, then again you might have forgotten you had them on (as you mentioned in the bloopers, filming in public like that is really stressful - I, too, hate doing that). Love the trousers, agree with your decision not to wear a belt with them. For those yapping about security/TSA: it's perfectly legal to film not only inside an airport but even inside the security checkpoint area, including the TSA agents (see: www.tsa.gov/travel/frequently-asked-questions/can-i-film-and-take-photos-security-checkpoint ).
Really tired of hearing about the Rolex Pepsi and the "Pan Am story." My dad was an airline captain and was smart enough to figure out what time it was in cities he was flying to without a $20,000 steel watch.
Hey christian im a huge fan and have been subbed for a while! Thanks to you my love for vintage watches grows more and more everyday, however I seem to have a plateau along my reasoning for collecting vintage time pieces maybe you can help me! I understand the appeal for the story and heritage of a watch but how can I get over the fact that the 1675 is selling for 14k? With that money i can get a slightly used blnr batman on an oyster or a kermit or even a unworn hulk. My mind just struggles investing that money but i do love vintage watches and it'd mean a lot to me if you can explain to me how you got past that or if it was ever something you struggled with or even if you consider my reasoning stupid and retarded lol. Thanks for all your awesome content!

This might be my favorite Theo & Harris video! The overall feeling, the passion, I just love it all!
Damn you... showing a pepsi from my birthyear (84) .. NOT COOL BRO! I have bills :P
Vince Dae and a 1971...my birth year.
I inherited a ‘63 1675 GMT Pepsi Rolex. Such a beautiful, vintage piece!
I know this is an old video but, I still enjoy going back to it. Great music BTW.
I usually skip RUclips intros to be honest and just jump right into the content but you sir,. absolutely nailed it. I watched the entire thing 😅
Holy shit this video is 2 years old? One of my favorites that I always come back to. Guess time has flown by
My favorite watch channel. I love your story tellings. And please more videos about your grandpa.

showing the 16700 would have been nice too.

Yup looks that’s way. I believe you had to formally request them not to replace the dial during service.
Almost certainly that's what happened. Rolex is notorious for replacing parts with a patina in the same way your phone or laptop always wants to give you updates you didn't want to begin with.
Great video! What sunglasses are they? They are fire 🔥
OK, you just convinced me I should go for a classic GMT Master Pepsi as my Rolex icon... you're missing a belt, Christian...Tod's maybe...
Hi, may i know what does a f series gmt master 2 16710 pepsi means?
Great video. Where is that jacket from?
What sunglasses are you wearing? I like em!
I notice here you say you like the Jubilee on the GMT Master but I get the vibe you do not like it on a Datejust? You dont have one for yours.
Love how you started the vid with Frankie. Great way to set the mood for the time period and a great nod to New Jersey. Bravo.
Love the new layout on the website. Amazing content.
You almost made Newark Airport seem decent. Almost.
Lovely GMTs though! Hard to decide between a world time and a GMT
Exactly what I thought lol
This piece looks amazing on you! LOVE the choice of music!!

I'd do anything to get my hands on this watch.
They aren't rare. Go buy one (just not the overpriced T&H one)
Surprised security didn't pounce on you guys. Good video!
Christian, where do you get your clothes done, who is your tailor? Thanks

I think another edition of “off topic” is in order. Not sure where you got that shirt, but the roll in the collar looks great!
Grant Yi ahhh man I need that look
Every time I even think about toying with parting ways with my 1979 series 1675, I watch this video, go put it on, and return to sanity.
Great video Christian. I’m pulling the 116710ln out of the safe today and putting it on my wrist. I buy’em to wear’em.
Great video! I do prefer the gmt on the oyster tho 🤷🏽♂️ if it weren’t for the outtakes I wouldn’t have known you were uncomfortable at all!
Ol' Blue Eyes singin' us in... nice touch!
Am I looking at a more polished Richard Quest?
Where are the Prince of Wales pants from, what store or Tailor??
The watch isn't as cool as that LV bag - love it!
I love the way you told the story of this series of watches, very cool. I love the GMT Master, it is such a beautiful watch. Thank you Christian and Anna for such an entertaining, informative and beautifully made video :)
Love this video so much - More travelling with Christian - Bordain style!
Probably your best video so far!
Good job with the bravery doing these video's Christian haha, can't be easy.

What an intro song! Frank - we salute you!
I have a No Date 16750, black bezel, awesome watch!!!!
Excellent attire. You look better than 99.9% of travelers (I know - not hard to do).

A few years back before the bubble, I purchased a pristine 16700 reference for half what they are today. Who knew. And of course I’m never selling it.
Who makes your glasses please. Great Pepsi!
Best watch channel on yt
class is always visible
VRFM = Vintage Rolex Field Manual - Chevalier Edition a 266 pages expanded hardcover, a collectors' manual by a vintage wristwatch fan for vintage wristwatch fans !
I got 1982-1984 or somthing manufacture year. Can anyone please tell me estimate price if i want to sell? Purchase year on 1986
Have a look online - check out chrono24 for example and look at sold prices. Consider if you have full set (box and papers) or not etc.
Christian, you are getting better as time passes. In 4/5 years from now, you’ll be introduced to Jack Forster and become a watch wise guy.
Truly digging those glenn plaid slacks!
Amazing video and work here, guys. I can watch these videos all day. Hope the watches swiftly sell! I’ll definitely contact you guys when I’m looking to buy!
Great direction and congrats on the growth!
You guys are such great storytellers.

Good content....keep it up....
Probly the best video ever from t&h love it
well done amigo! very nicely executed! :)
Great video!! Too bad you sound like David Schwimmer. Ugh. Oh well, great video on my weapon of choice, a 16710 GMT-II.
Let’s be honest.. there were probably 7 stuffed toys inside that LV to make it look that way
Hahahahahahahha you know it
Lmao
Love these homages to Steinhart.
Me watching video: “how can I steal a five figure sum of cash and be certain I would get away with it?!”. I need a Pepsi GMT!
Love the new look guys! Well done!!!

Great video Theo... keep at it sir
Well done team....keep it up!
Great stuff as always !
It looks so big on your wrist lol. Just used to you wearing a more proportioned watch.
Imagine no cyclops with no crown guards: 1 watch collection complete.
This video could only have been better of Christian has stepped onto a Spirit airlines flight.
You did it 👍
Did you go to the airport just to film that segment?
Top style is a black bezel
Pepsi bezel, or a black bezel. That is the question.
Really tired of hearing about the Rolex Pepsi and the "Pan Am story." My dad was an airline captain and was smart enough to figure out what time it was in cities he was flying to without a $20,000 steel watch.
This is so snobby 😅😅
Greetings from Germany 🤙🏼

I feel like wearing pants with belt loops and no belt is...idk, wrong? incomplete?
I agree...pull tabs would look better. More elegant
I agree...pull tabs would look better. More elegant
He’s got some serious Plymouth old Christian
You people must have a lot of extra time on your hands if you can afford the luxury of watching vintage Rolex videos...just sayin’
Lmao nobody really understands how weird it gets filming in public unless you do a YT channel.
My father Hass one with a white face why isn't that on the video
