I installed a detachable towbar on my sports tourer today and brought the pfjones kit all based on your videos it was very helpful 👌
Fantastic, I did look into the detachable, but decided that once fitted I probably wouldn't remove it again. The kit from PFJones was such a good kit, and super easy to install too following their instructions. I'm pleased to read that my video helped out. Thanks for letting me know
Hi I’ve caught my head a couple of times on my boot lights 🙈 great info video 👍👍
It’s a nightmare, so many times we have banged our heads! Thank you for the kind words
Exactly what I was looking for. I'll get onto PF Jones and get a kit ordered. Cheers. 😁
Thanxs for these Insignia towbar videos! It was very very very helpful, as i did it to my Insignia. It worked just like in these videos!
Awesome thanks for letting me know
Thanks for the Video ,it was Big help
You’re welcome
I have a similar kit for a zafira tourer, same concept, great video. Thanks
Thanks very much
Hello, I would want ask what is the marking of rear light module in trunk, TL or TM? I connected everything like in movie and the installation doesn't work.
I'm very sorry I do not remember, I tried looking for the paperwork and I no longer have this, maybe contact PF Jones who supplied the loom and ask the question. I'm sure they will be happy to help
Hi mate, excellent guide which helped me lots fitting mine.. thanks 👏
Thank you, pleased to hear it helped
Great video and well explained you have done a good job of the fitting and wiring the tow bar
thanks mate, i'm really pleased with the fitment of this, and how neat it all looks. the fact it all works is an added bonus too :)
Thanks buddy, was really helpfull, got a VXR and i got the tow bar but need to find out the electrics and followed your recomendation hopefully will be done soon.
All the best.
Fantastic, best of luck 👍
Fantastic video. I'd have struggled without your help, excellent, cheers.
That's awesome to hear, so pleased to have been able to help
Great and easy to follow guidance.
Perfect, glad my video was helpful
Really good job there ,well done
Thanks very much
Will I will definitely use this video and your advice when I will install the tow bar in my insignia, one more thing can u tell me what kind of bulbs do u have in your head lights, they look pretty bright 🤙🏻
Hey kamil, pleased it was helpful it took a while to edit, in fact longer to edit than to install!... but its working a treat I'm super happy with how it all turned out.
As for the headlights I'm not sure if they are standard bulbs or not bit they are the adaptive headlights, bloody brilliant to be fair.
Can you tell me if there is any lights on the module box in the boot please ? Iv got the same set up as you but not working. Looks like there is 2 led lights on the box but there not lit up.
Sorry just seen this, no lights on my module until ignition is switched on
Really good video. Watched this ahead of fitting a tow bar to my own insignia tourer. The kit with mine suggests there is a circular blank in the floor that can be knocked out for the wiring grommet - did you not find this?
Glad it was of some help. I didnt see this in mine, the instructions advised to drill a big hole and plug it with the bung provided. It seems yo have worked a treat
Hi William excellent video, maybe you can give me a bit of advice , 2 years ago i got auto electrician to wire up a tow-bar on my 2012 Insignia tourer, however due to lockdowns etc i didnt get to use it until this week when i noticed the towbar lights all work perfectly ...."WHEN THE BOOT IS OPEN ONLY", but when boot is closed they dont work...the insignia like yours has spare brake/indicator lights in the boot and only work when boot is open, i presume he connected to these lights while boot is open ...my question is? how do reverse the process...regards William
probably should have got the PF Jones kit instead of kit came with towbar...
Hey, you would need to trace where the brake wire has been connected and go from there, with the boot open the rear lights loose all power so when probing to find the live there won't be one! I had this issue but checked prior to the installation of my loom. the way I did is was by removing the side trim to expose the wires, and fold the seats flat to lie inside the car. Tailgate closed and tested, marked the wire and then opened up the boot. it's a silly set up as when towing and needing access to the boot to get a spare wheel for example the trailer lights could potentially go out. the PF jones kit has an override for this though.
Thanks for your comment, and hope you get it sorted.
@@WilliamMurfitt Thanks Will will do that
@@willmadigan2813hey did you find out where you were to connect the wires from towbar electrics? I’m having the same issue as you did.
Good job. 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
There is actually a hole ready between the passenger side rear wheel arch and bumper for electrics to come trough into the inside wing you just took panel off…….grommet on trailer electrics is for this hole….
@@deankos3309 nice one, I couldn’t see anything on mine. Hope the rest of the video is of help to you
Spot on thanks for upload 👍
@@deankos3309 you’re welcome.
The electrics always seem to be the most time consuming. I'm wondering if the manufactures of all cars spent another £ or 2 they could have a universal plug in tow bar socket at the rear of the vehicle for the tow bar electrics. The majority of people I accept, of car buyers won't have need of the facility but wouldn't it be a whole lot less hassle for a small amount of money. But then the main dealers couldn't charge a shed load of money to fit them.
Massively time consuming, but it’s an after cost that manufacturers can charge for for installation, they would loose out on money and it would ruin the aftermarket market for selling goods too
Wow. Looking to buy an Insignia but i think i will buy one with a factory tow bar.
These kits aren't as bad as they look. As long as the right electrical kit is supplied.
