One of the MAJOR themes of Dune is one is never as in control as you think you are, and that unexpected events can blindside you despite literal millennia of preparation.
Yeah, I always saw the book's thesis as: "The mystery of life isn't a problem to solve but a reality to experience."

Denis Villeneuve's DUNE is everything Star Wars tried to be.
A series about them should soon be released in 2024 and will tell who they are. I still don’t understand who they are for Dune, but apparently they are the ones who interfere with the board and occupy important positions

I only ever heard this name spoken by friends who knew the book(s?) and the original film. I thought it was 'Benejesuit' for the longest time. It is an elegant portmanteau of Benedictine and Jesuit.
The costume design in the new films is intelligent. It exploits the look of these - and many other - patriarchal religious orders to convey their legacy of power, the history of humans who went before them, and the zany idea of a matriarchy turning the tables on it all.
Quite funny how they're so obviously written from a male perspective, though.
I also misheared it as Jesuit when I first discovered Dune from a youtube video. I was wondering back then, why are the Jesuits in this universe male? Did the female-priest movement took over the Catholic Church in this era? 😂

I’ve grown to idolize Paul for the values he embodies in the film. They really went off on this one
If you idolize Paul then the film was a poor adaptation of the books message.
paul betrayed himself tho. He ended up following a path he did not want to follow so he could get his revenge on the Harkonnens. He redeems himself later, but he will cause a huge genocide, and loses control over his followers.
@@X8THECHI8X No it was a good adaptation, it's just some people always end up missing the message. It's like how after Avengers Endgame, there was a surprising amount of people online that honestly felt Thanos was right in wiping out half of all life in the galaxy in order to "save" it.

There's only a handful of Sardaukar throat singing clips so, yeah, it's usually the same ones. Glad you like it though, the idea is to evoke the chapter epigraphs of the books. :)

@@SWFT_edits I meant to mention this also! I’ve replayed the Sardaukar prologue at the beginning over and over- The Sardaukar singing/chanting just gives a real sense of other worldly…non-human. I absolutely love it! So thank you so much for incorporating that into the clips.

Princess Irulan, although she remained in power and will become Paul’s legal wife, but they will have an agreement not to save them together, but as I remember from the book, Chani will return to Paul and give birth to children. I’m most interested in whether Irulan will give Paul even though Paul has seen the whole future and probably knows what Irulan will do in part 3

Does it bug anyone else that she says a form of power that our ''world'' has not yet seen? Don't they live on many worlds? Perhaps a faux pas by Frank Herbert or the screenplay writer for Dune 2024.
It means the universe in that sense.

It’s world as in “the human world” as opposed to an actual planet that your comment implies.

But the only reason we use that phrase is because we only live on Earth. It's just odd that they are still attached to it 15,000+ years from now!

It seemed rather laughable the mistake that they made, they wanted to snuff out the Atreides because they were becoming too independent and hard to control. But the idea that you could create this supernaturally powerful/intelligent leader to show humanity the way and at the same time you would control them is just foolishness. If you could control such a leader you wouldn't need them at all.
Fear isn't the mind-killer, fear is easily conquered. The utter meaningless of life, and the unchecked power of evil, they are the mind-killers. Oh, and being forsaken by one's friends, time and again, a real bummer, unto death.
Overall id say good edit, though the music choice wasnt very fitting. The Bene Gesserit are very shadowy, mysterious, morally grey people, so replacing the more heroic music with something more foreboding would fit much better.

People lacking intellect and/or motivation to research what they're talking about should not leave RUclips comments. This film was cut by Joe Walker who did not shoot the footage himself-did he then also parasitize? Didn't the film itself parasitize the original novel?
What bugged me is that the writers overdid the already big parts that females had in t.he books. Why? They wrecked the storyline at every turn and invented spurious ones that made the story total BS!
