    interestingly, the Escorial was one of the first places the word " corridor " was used.

    Despite being a tyrant, Phillip II was an intelligent man that fostered the sciences and promoted all of this art and made the chapel the center of the palace so he could attend mass while ill. Uh huh. Sounds like a tyrant. I mean do these people even listen to themselves?

      He was a very cultivated man. If you dont take into consideration the historical context you could perfectly claim any monarch was a tyrant at that time. Its silly to judge the past according to our current moral standards.

      @@divadfeb1959 Well... I dont have the pleasure of knowing your country so I dont know much about your education system. But from what is happening now it seems to me that we are facing very similar problems in Europe. It is very sad but we have a major cultural problem. I dont know where is this path going to take us...
