- Finally after a lackluster performance last week, they slowed down on this ballad and sounded much better..i was worried that this high school group could be in trouble tonight but this definitely saved them. I thought this one of the best of the night. A-

I love that Vocal Rush rotates the solos amongst their members and give everyone an opportunity to take center stage.
What's cool is that Phil Collins went from drummer to singer in Genesis. Here was have the beatboxer singing.
Kyana is my Niece and I am so proud of her. You guys are all so talented.

I'm glad that Kyana was nervous, her vulnerability was exactly what this song needed. Because that's what this song is all about : vulnerability ! She did a beautiful and an emotional performance, mission accomplished.

I was just surfing along on the internet and blew into this video totally by accident. Never seen this show or anything. Never even liked Phil Collins. And WOW. I am now a fan of this song, these girls, and I even like the tea I'm drinking a little more! This song was that good! Watched it twice; would watch again....Really, that girl who did the first solo was so sweet it took my breath away, and then she beatboxed (LOL) and the whole thing built into something so powerful.

I'm a huge fan of this Phil Collins song. This song talk about your vulnerability when your love leaves you. That's why the beatboxer girl, with her own fragility was perfect match for this song.
I prefer this version than the Mariah Carey one.

I agree with jewel. The 1st singer emoted so well. Yes, you could hear her nerves but it could be also interpreted as pain. I honestly felt her performance. 🎼🎤😥🎶🎵🎶

what sucks about being a musician sometimes, is giving that beautiful intro performance and having to go back to vocal percussion. all she wants to do there is jump up and down and scream "I nailed it!!" but ya can't do that!!!

i think what shawn meant was after she sang her solo, she immediately went into her beatboxing. i dont think the other girl did that exactly, but you are right
In Delilah's 5th or 6th performance where they did How to Love Geena went from singing directly to beat boxing.

***** I think Shawn meant going from solo directly into perc. Geena sang back up for Ingrid and Amy before starting percs in How to love. But i would also believe that Shawn just forgot.
***** don't forget Courtney from Season 1 (Noteworthy), during their performance of Viva la Vida she sang and went straight into beatboxing :) she was so good that she returned as part of the Backbeats in Season 2

I'm a huge fan of the original song. I don't like the Mariah Carey version cause it sounds too perfect vocally speaking. Fiona Delivered her performance so well. I'm so agree with Jewel. I wish that Fiona sung the song all along. Too bad, she was the only beatboxer of the group.

this was a little shaky but still an improvement from their last one
im a bit dissapointed, too many of them, and they needed 2 men for basses, either have a small group with one male bass or have a female bass, they were a bit too much of a choir, other than that i think their singing was amazing, but structure of the group held them back against other groups

They should've swapped leads...the first soloist woulda been so much more impacting. But yeah, i kno she needed to do the beatboxing after...blah blah blah! lol
Wow, never knew this song could be arranged as a funeral dirge. Absolutely no feeling with this. They're just singing the words, not feeling them.
