I don't have wrinkels yet but my skin is soooo thin, especially arround my eyes :-( I hope so much, that the LED mask will help and that it doesn't destroy my last fat under the eyes :-o

      @@MariTheAmateur no worries! I think I found my favorite bronzer in the hourglass new palette! I’m also not wearing much makeup these days 😂 And I’m also on a no buy because I shamefully spend too much money in Biologique Recherche. I wish I could use my rx retinoid but I’m breastfeeding. I find that my skin needs way less when using a retinoid! I hope to slowly bring in more affordable alternatives as I run out of BR products

    What a fantastic review - you’re so organised! Super useful. May I ask if you’ve noticed improvement in facial folds such as in the naso-labial region? I’m thinking about purchasing the mask and I’m trying to find out as much as I can about reseracg data backing it up, but seeing a thorough review like yours is also very informative! Thank you!
    I’m in my 30s and want to step up my skin preventative treatment game. Looked into fillers, but the risk of devastating complications (though very rare!) puts me off taking the plunge. I’m not willing to gamble with my health for glowy skin, I guess, which is why a product like this looks like a good alternative!

      Thanks for your kind words! If I could give my 30-year-old self advice, it would be: Retin-A, sunscreen, and moisturizer. For skincare technology, at 30 I would prioritize this mask and perhaps a quarterly microneedle. I do agree it's time for me to do another 30-day LED update, so I'll have that finished half-way through November. At 54, I value microneedling AND the LED mask. Microneedling gives quick improvement to naso-labial creases. The LED mask shows results over time. Stay tuned, and thanks again :)

    I agree, Mari, beautiful skin is not worth your eyesight! I am surprised to hear that you purchased this mask yourself since many of the You tubers contacted the company's for a free mask to review it. Maybe you should try the Aduro, which is quite popular or the Current body one & test those out for free for a review, because you are very good!

    Mari, I am new to your channel & am very impressed with your honesty & research. I am looking at purchasing either the Boost mask, Aduro or the Current Body mask, which do you think is the strongest besides the Boost. I am 73 & live in Arizona, & the only problem with the Boost is that they only allow you 14 days to return it & I am not sure of the warranty. Thank you kindly for all you do & your candidness.

    • @MariTheAmateur
      @MariTheAmateur  3 года назад

      Thank you for your kind words, Valentina! I had never heard of the Current Body version, but it looks to be the right combo of near infrared and LED red light, and it’s several hundred dollars less than the Boost. The warranty on the Boost is 2 years, although the bulbs are expected to have a 5-10 year life span. I think this type of mask honestly hasn’t been around for long enough to test whether that warranty window is sufficient. Let me know what you decide!

      @@MariTheAmateurThank you for your quick reply, Mari. I actually was sold on the CurrentBody Mask reviewed by Jennifer Joyce & Wayne Goss, & was only interested in the red infrared lights, although the Aduro also had good reviews. But then I stumbled on the Boost, which looks very similar to the Currentbody mask although it has the infrared lights & not the near infrared, so I have not checked the difference in that. But you do get what you pay for is my belief. And I am hoping that I can get it on sale sometime. Out of curiosity, is the Boost light sensitive to the eyes, because I never care for any of the googles since they create more wrinkles than they're worth. (But I am light sensitive & would just close my eyes. Thank you sooooo very much. I do enjoy your videos.

      @@valentina-pg4bj, although I tried a few times to do work (using my eyes) while doing the treatment, I now keep my eyes closed. I feel it’s not worth risking eye damage. It’s definitely an expense, but I’m hoping to get at least fives years out of it. Fingers-crossed.

    • @MariTheAmateur
      @MariTheAmateur  3 года назад +2

      Hi, Valentina. I love the Boost. I’m continuing to use it at least 5 times a week on my face and hair. It’s my understanding that Power is not as important as the lights hitting the desired wavelength. This Google search might be useful: www.google.com/search?q=desired+wavelength+for+red+led+near+infrared+light+therapy&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-us&client=safari

      @@MariTheAmateur The Aduro has 219 lights but not as much wattage as the Omniux, which has the most of any LED Masks. So what are you saying???? The Aduro has 18mW/cm2. while the Omnilux has 30mW/cm2.

    • @MariTheAmateur
      @MariTheAmateur  3 года назад

      @@valentina-pg4bj I wish I could offer a quick answer. I know Tamarastimelessbeauty-an awesome RUclips content creator- uses the Aduro and has filmed about it. I just don’t have any experience with the Omnilux. I do know from my own purchase habits that rest assured, by doing your research and then using that product consistently, very often the choice you make is indeed the best one for you. Keep in mind that two years from now, the options will be even more amazing, but will you have been doing LED treatments (or Retin A, or any other skincare regime) in the interim? I’m loving my Boost, but I know that technology is improving at a staggering pace, and that prices are coming down... I hope this perspective helps! Good luck with your decision.

      @@MariTheAmateur Tamara's research was from Claudia's (Who is quite knowledgeable), & Jennifer Joyce is also very good, not to mention Penn Smith. But Hot & Flashy is my guru because she does her research, which she recently did on LED Masks. Tamara goes along with the crowd in my opinion, she's nice but just there to get free stuff. I have been doing my treatments & using my devices for the past 10 plus years, & to be honest with you, not much has changed when it comes to products & devices that really work! The gimmicks come & go & divert our attention. But I still don't understand what you meant about the power verses the amount of lights? Can you elaborate please? Thank you kindly, Valentina

      Hi, Trish, thanks for watching. I use the LED treatment on my “widow’s peak” for one ten-minute cycle, and then sometimes do an additional 10-minute cycle after moving the mask to the top of my head. That second treatment is one I do probably only three times a week. Compared to the face mask, the hair treatments are effortless as they don’t cover your face. LMK if you have additional questions. @@trishpugelli5371 I should also mention that while it makes sense to double-up and do two 10-minute sessions in the beginning, once your cells "fill up," to use a metaphor, they no longer absorb the benefits of red light/near-infrared, so a 10-minute cycle is an ideal time if you're consistent. On the plus side, there's no way to overdo the treatment, and if you're looking to save time, the additional 10 minutes is not necessarily necessary.
