@@poultroller no problem! I think when the album comes out, I’ll try and do more / all of the songs. I’ll be out of the country, with only my bass so it’ll be tough. But we’ll see!
this song reminded me of when I first listen to Know Your Enemy back in 2008/09 (dunno) but it was such a refreshing feeling to really enjoy a new song by them on a first try.
@@deancrist621 it’s one of my favorite guitars honestly. The guy I bought it from did some routing and put a different bridge in there, but for intonation purposes. In terms of it staying in tune, it’s been fine for me, it’s just setting finding the right spot for intonation which can be a little challenging.
P90s were a huge part of the Green Day sound once Nimrod came out. I’m just using a Marshall style amp in the Helix. As Billie does not use any pedals for his main tone, just blending of 2 modded amps. (Unless it’s different for this album)

Hey thanks! Appreciate the kind words. To start off with the newer Billie tone, it’s mostly the single coil pickups (P90s) the main reason I bought this guitar. Then it’s running through my Helix with a patch I made with Marshall style amp a while ago. You kinda want a clean/dirty-ish tone. If you play heavier, it’ll give you the grit you want.
I’m just using a Marshall style amp in the Helix. As Billie does not use any pedals for his main tone, just blending of 2 modded amps. (Unless it’s different for this album)
I used my Line 6 Helix for this, but I probably used Marshall of some sort. I’m also out of the country so no access to it. It’s a preset I made a while ago so I don’t fully remember. Thanks for watching!
TUNING IS DROP D (DADGBE)
thanks! are you planning to record the bass tab for this song?

Reminds me of whatsername
Whatshername from American Idiot is in Drop D as well.
Is it original tune drop D?
I still can't believe they did a song in drop D. Great cover! And great TABS!
Thank you for the kind words!
Whastername was another song in Drop D!
@@matt_kaefer exact, besides the verses look a lot like Whatsername!
To my knowledge, Dilemma and Whatsername are the only songs Green Day have in Drop D tuning. All the rest are Standard and Eb (E Flat)
Well ofc greenday is a standard tuning except E string
Actually alot of green day songs are tuned half a step down. Whatsername is also in drop d
Quality!
No obnoxious 2minute intro.
No begging for subs.
Just straight into it ❤
Someones gotta do it!

Yeah i know what you mean. This one is really a headbanger at points. Really cool stuff!
Wait till you hear So What by P!n-- I mean One-Eyed Bastard. It's a banger and a half, if clearly plagiarized.
I love this one note at the end of the intro😍😍. I’m so excited for the album
Haha yeah when I heard it for the first time, I was like “ooooo fancy”
Very well played my friend!! Keep it up!!🎸
Thank you for the kind words!
Green day needs more drop d songs 😢
Facts. Love this and whatsername!
Bobby Sox and One Eyed Bastard are coming!!
@@hrmncsx We'll see what happens!
wow an actually somewhat interesting Green Day song, actually really love this song. Great cover man keep on keeping on!!
Right? I can't recall a GD song that bounces in the same way as this. Its really cool!
Cant be you listen to them all that much. Radio hits dont count
@@ADP12345 trust my friend, I have listened to ALOT of Green Day :)
Oh, here is my belated Christmas gift. Great cover. Thank you so much for sharing the tabs!
Happy holidays! Enjoy!
This just came out….amazing dude

How do you like that Slick guitar? I have the single pickup version and can't get it to stay in tune

Wow perfect cover my friend! It sounds really cool. Thanks for the tabs, I have to learn to play it🤘🏼🎸
Thank you very much! Happy learning!
Perfect!
Wow, what a tone!!
That was my first thought also. The song is a banger but Matt's tone is soooooo good.
Flawless brother, thanks for the video
No problem 👍
🙌🔥🙌🔥🙌🔥 I love it! Can't wait for their new album to drop
Me too! Gonna be sick!
I am sure there are others but i cant recall any other GD songs in drop D.
Whatsername! One of my favorites.
@@matt_kaeferahh that explains why that riff sounds similar. Both great songs
This is sick man, well done!

GREAT TONE AND TABS!
Thank you!
Thank you for the tabs brother! Well played 😊
P.S. Most of it comes from the P90s i guess, but which distortion pedal are you using? :)

Excellent! 👌 👏 🙌

Great tutorial! It's remind me Nerve Flip by Red Hot Chili Peppers, very heavy song
I haven't kept track with newer RHCP songs, but I checked it out and that song is cool!
how did you make this so quick!
I worked really fast! Mostly just writing it out as I learned it. Writing the tab slowed me down a lot haha!
oh right, it's drop d, tried to nail it with default tuning😂
Haha yeah. I wish it was on the tab I wrote 🙄
what is the settings you used on your amp for this?
I just used a preset I made with my line 6 helix. Using a Marshall style amp!
