I was actually hesitant on reading this because of those negative comments. But then somehow I ended up reading it out of curiosity. I admit I didn't like her at first but I was not annoyed because of how her character was written and well I did understand the characters surprisingly well. When Serena went out of her shell she bloomed so beautifully and I loved the fact that ML knew her character so well. It was beautifully written. I think people judged this story quite early. 79 chapters later it proved to be a very good story with a very good character development.
I never hated her neither did i thought she was red flag😭 but the only thing i didn't like about her was her being together with Fredrick 😢 but i love her character ❤️🩹

The moment I saw a female lead with flaws I knew it would be satisfying to read when she gets character development. And that's always the best part of a good story.
I will be very honest with you: Serena from the beginning of the story and Serena of the present are like two different people ( this is both due to her character development and also sloppy writing /bad presentation at the beginning of the webtoon). Also neither Eiser nor Serena start as good people to each other, resulting in a very toxic and borderline abusive dynamic -she yelled, insulted and threw books at him; and he pointed a live gun at her (past trauma or not that was..not a good look for him). Good that they improved enough as people to start communicating their fears and anxieties to each other and establish a more healthy dynamic. I love this webtoon and its characters and I am looking forward to them facing obstacles together as a power couple!
People don't get character devlopment the problem would be if she didn't grow and remain stuck and these kind of characters are juicy. From the first few chapter I kinda get her She was a Crown princess of serenity she was raised to rule over it but then she lost her parents then she tried her hardest to prove herself but her kingdom was handed over to a stranger and to a guy from an enemy family her pride was hurt her granny didn't explain much to her and wanted her to accept it she was going through very tough time and very depressed she was made to be feel like nobody from a princess to nobody is very difficult feeling so she was rebelling in whatever way she could.
