for Module Path Aliases you need to set baseUrl first "baseUrl": ".", "paths": { "@/*": ["./*"], "@/components/*": ["components/*"], "@/styles/*": ["styles/*"], "@/lib/*": ["lib/*"] }
I usually have route components and lib folders, then under app have shared components and lib folders (components and util functions used across the different routes)
Hey Ryan👋🏻, great video! I'm currently working on a Next.js project where I have separate frontend and backend directories. I'm curious if there's a recommended way to integrate both frontend and backend within the same project directory? As a beginner learning Next.js, I'd appreciate any insights you might have on consolidating project structure. Thanks for your help! 🚀
The thing I find most annoying as a beginner when it comes to structure is that whenever I run npm install xxx a lot of folders and files are made. Often also duplicates like node_modules and package.json files. Can I merge these duplicates or is there a way to make them merge during installments? Does it matter if there are duplicates? If so, can I move them around to organize my folders?
Are you talking about duplicates within your node_modules folder? There probably shouldn’t be multiple package.json files, especially in the same folder
@@coderyan im talking about duplicate files, but not within the same folder. Two node_modules folders with many of the same files. Multiple package.json files but not within the same folders
Typically, you would just have those files within the root folder of your project. If you run npm install though in a folder that’s not your root folder, then you might see some of the duplication issues
I has been studying english language, and you helps me so much, because your pronounce is so good to understand
Happy to help!
I'm currently merging two projects into one, and this video helped me understand the file structure to merge them. Thanks!
To me its the most important as a beginner, and I don't see this information anywhere. Good job.
Happy this helped!
ong you're the best keep going🐐❤️👑
Thank you!
I really dont understand the reason they stopped using the pages folder.
Creating layouts is MUCH easier with the app router

I am using page router. I guess it does not support colocation. Please let me know if I am wrong.
Is this the official docs?
