- Season 2 - Episode 37 ... Sailing Cuba!
The small fishing village of Marea del Portillo was unlike any place we have ever visited. As soon as we anchored the local boats swam to our boat and greeted us with smiles and giggles. A local woman, Josephine, paddled the Guarda to our boat and he checked us in and welcomed us to the area. We only planned on spending one night here, but the charm of this of this town made us stay longer. These have been some of the most welcoming and friendliest people we have ever met in our travels.

Nice the Beach you enjoy with your family was take over from my grandpa by Castro Regime in 1963 his Name was Ventura Bazán owner of several farms in that area including this shores and Hotel area I know is not your fault but I did cry when sow the video am 58 years old man and still remember this places

Amazing experience, we have been going to Marea for a few years now and have met some wonderful people that we consider family. The people in Marea are wonderful and and very welcoming... we wish we could go more often

David Roeshot, Hi Dave!! Yes, this is a true glimpse of what Cuba is really like. It really is like going back in time. We originally planned on sailing a year, but there is so much cool stuff to see and do.... Our new plan is to stay out here until it's not fun anymore.
