True story: when I was younger I played this game religiously, so much that I got so used to the jank as hell timing windows, when I tried to play La Grange on GH3 muscle memory fucked me up bad and I ended up failing the song

@Andy G. Since the mic is used as a button press on the bongos, you'd need a 3rd party software to set your mic as an input

even though these songs are coming out of a DS lite, they're still pretty good all things considered
The DS was pretty awesome.
Rhythm games weren't exactly it's main attraction, but it still had lots and lots of good music due to having a huge number of good RPGs.

I know most of y'all are against the idea of a new GH/RB game, but I think a remaster of some sort for Nintendo Switch would be pretty cool. It would be nice to be able to take Guitar Hero with me without it looking/feeling this ridiculous. Lol
Well, the clone hero team made an android version, and if you have a tablet with android it would be a similar experience (but you can use real controllers haha)

This was actually my first exposure to guitar hero when I was a kid and I was in love with it. When we bought world tour and I saw there was an orange button I was like "Wtf I only have 4 fingers. How am I supposed to hit 5 buttons?"
In fairness, even those of us who played the home console versions first had that same reaction.

This was my only guitar hero experience until I finally convinced my friend to give me his ps2 copy. By that point I had already fully mastered the ds and to this day I can still kick ass on it. One of my favorite rhythm game experiences for sure lol

SanicStudios At least they had two big songs, so they can comfortably Rest In Peace. Two of the main band members died of HIV, which was really sad.
Saw them live in 2004. Great show.

You should try playing the game more. Like I hate to be blunt but if you can’t play anything on easy then you’re clearly not playing the game, period lol. It takes maybe a day or two to get used to it.

So ok the way the DS handles 2 fingers seems so be just the point in the middle of them. Unless you apply more pressure to one or the other in which case it will move the point to one finger or the other. So theoretically if you could control that you could "rake strum" by placing one finger on each side of the guitar and alternating pressure.

Ah man, I loved this one! This is gonna sound silly, but as a kid this was the one Guitar Hero game I wanted more than any of the other ones, just the whole idea of playing it on my DS was mind blowing to me. I asked for it for my birthday and Christmas every year for the next four or five years until finally my uncle got it for me for Christmas when I was 10 or 11, and I was ecstatic.

Fun fact: He sightread this song since 13 years ago playing the same game for first time FC'd this song.
People laugh at this, but this was my first experience with Guitar Hero, and I loved it and played it anytime I could. The memories.

I got this game launch day when I was a kid lol. I got some day 1 promo gifts including a transparent blue pick, a black wrist sweatband with the games logo stiched into it (lol as if you break a sweat playing guitar hero ds), and a temporary tattoo with the games logo on it. When I got home I realized the adapter for using it on the old chunky ds was broken, but I think I was able to go back that day to replace it. I remember playing it on long car rides, kept me entertained lol.

I had this game as a kid, it was horrible!
It was cool for what it was. It works properly and is fun for 10-15 minutes which is all it needed to be. If you have big hands it's not so great though.
What do you mean it was horrible. It was the best, but tbf Band Hero DS was 10x better. And I grew up on it. But none of these standup to official gh.

For real, though. This game had a fire setlist. I more or less got used to the way it handled strumming as well. I loved being able to play this game portably, because I was obsessed with Guitar Hero and rhythm games, and wanted to play them anywhere I could.
I honestly think this game probably was the best it could be, save for having a strum bar mounted on the side of the DS or something. Vicarious Visions did a great job doing something so ludicrous, and I guess that even some Harmonix devs thought so too, because this is the only non-Harmonix Guitar Hero game to have a Freezepop song in it, as far as I know.
