Fucking hell, this is probably the manliest origin story I have ever heard.
I
Berserk Guts has a way manlier origin but Bane is still up there.
While I agree 100% that Guts is the manliest character ever made, he has a lot of advantages Bane doesn't have. For one he's the main character of his book while Bane is often reduced to just a henchman villain, also an adult Japanese manga allows tons of sex and violence that DC would never get away with even hinting at xD and finally Berserk has been running for a long ass time and Bane only got a couple of issues :)

but that's not what I meant, I meant that he wasn't top tier villain status like the Joker
most of the time he's just a strong grunt character
Well thats sort of a misinterpretation of his character because Bane isn't just strong he's also very intelligent

This is why Bane is my favorite Batman villain. I love the Joker but Bane is an equally if not more fascinating character
Joker is overused Bane has a lot more potential to be a greater threat in my opinion
Bane is more badass and more intimidating than the other Batman villains. That's why he's more fascinating.
They need to give Joker a break and let others iconic Batman villains a turn in the spotlight.
My favorite Batman villain is Ra’s al Ghul!!
Damn. I didn't know Bane was so interesting. He's like if Batman had just never got any love in his life after his parents died and was thrown to the wolves instead of having Alfred and piles of cash.
Knightfall really played up the parallel and then nobody else really did anything with it until Tom King. Bane is easily the best part of King's run imo.
Bane is one of Batman's greatest foes. Joker purists can say whatever they want.

cause when they do villain collabs like the justice league he just becomes the muscle and a henchmen which is retarded when you look at his character
Well isnt it obvious? Hes just a human what the fuck do you want him to do against the justice league and the likes, hes a "minor" character in the whole spectrum of DC because he cant do much against actual superheroes. In the Batman stories though hes pretty unstoppable.
The Joker is more capable than Bane and basically most villains.

Bane a small character my ass. Bane has been the character pulling the strings behind some of the biggest batman stories. Batman eternal a 1 year story line bane was the man behind it all. Bane of the demon he was one of only maybe 3 men Ras al ghul found worthy to marry his daughter. Batman Europa a story with batman and joker both poisoned having to team up all while tripping balls only to find out bane was the one who did it. Knightfall he broke batman's back. He broke jokers back during no mans land. He broke judo masters back killing him. He was a top dog in the secret six. Last year he had his own comic writin by chuck Dixon creator of bane. He has had his own mini series about 70 times not including one shot graphic novels. Let's see he beat the shit out of KG beast in vengeance of bane part 2 to be fair KG besst was in bad shape. And over Tom kings whole batman run which once he finishes it up on batman and Catwoman he will have told a 100 plus issue tale of how bane broke batman over the course of 2 years he built him up gave him happiness in his engagement to Catwoman then he has KG Beast brain damage nightwing literally bringing batman to hunt down the only man he has never beaten in combat the KG Beast and batman almost fucking kills him for almost killing his adopted son Dick Grayson then just when you think batman cant get anymore lower he punches his long time ally Gordon in the face then he meets his dad Thomas Wayne who bane had brought back from flashpoint and he gets his ass nearly killed by daddy. So yeah bane is kinda a big thing. Trade secret he has the willpower of a green lantern when in detective comics5 something he takes the ring from a lantern. He stole kryptonite from Lex Luthor so if he needs to he can beat superman he has went to to tor with cyborg wonder woman and aquaman and he tricked the flash then broke Wally West's knees.
Bane is one of DC comics most formidable villains! What I meant by that is its because of his powers but the ways he thinks, the training he had, and in the willpower he developed. I love characters like that!

bane was always amazing but Im glad young justice did him right by making him of spanish decent. You know a lot of these stories sound like a tribe from Baki the grappler who took over a prisoner island from the government.

I love Batman villains and their origins. You can literally make a standalone movie or tv show about these characters. Bane, Mr Freeze, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, heck they made a show about Jim Gordon's origin in Gotham so why not these other villains. I'm more interested in Bane's story since many people confuse him as being a mindless steroid wrestler.

This story made into a live-action movie-truly epic.
I would love to see a Bane origin movie that takes it all the way to the point of him finally meeting Batman and breaking his back. That would literally be the last 10 mins of the movie.
I really believe if Bane never took Venom he'd have killed Batman.
He's Batmans physical, intellectual and psychological better.
Bane (No Venom) and Batman are dead equals both are extremely strong and extremely fast but Bane is stronger but Batman is faster and more agile and intellectually and Psychologically better but Bane is far more durable and since he will kill you that evens it out

bane is awesome its sad that most of the time they dont actually stay true to the character. i thought he was dcs hulk for a long time but then i realised that wasnt true because of an animated moviw where bane is the main villain although even in that i think hes a mercenary.
DEANOGTO Yeah, I learned about how intelligent, calculated, and organized he was several years ago and always wanted to see him done right, but never got that. I hope we see that soon, like in a dc animated movie game, or show.

I was mixed about Bane in the animated series of Batman. I still found him cool but that "genius" level compared t the comics I wasnt seeing for some reason.

@comicsexplained great vid. Bane my favorite villains. When i went to go see "Black Panther" I see a lot of comparisons Erik Killmonger and Bane. Both were revolutionaries, both were very smart, and wanted somewhat of revenge and take over their perspective city or nation. What do you think about those Two (Erik Killmonger and Bane) being similar in a lot of ways ?

Hey love the videos by the way. But I know you've already done all new all different avengers versus the teen titans but could you do the new marvels champions lineup versus the teen titans. The champion's team is completely made up of teenagers and has 5 members so it's a perfect fit. If this seems kind of repetitive, you could still do marvels champions versus the Titans(The one with the pre-52 Wally west). Anyway just an idea

Bane's origin is very similar to Doomsday. Same type of character too. They are my favorite!
Mr Bane13 born and raised in the harshest of environments. Unhealthy obsession with a major DC hero. Both very physically strong and also their major power. Both destroyed that hero, which had to come back from the dead. Both villains created during a time when dc comics were at a low point in comic book sales

As much as I like Bane as villain, I'd prefer him as an anti-hero atleast as his willpower is extraordinary

many years back I had one batman issue of the "Venom" saga if you will. I was not very familiar with where it was leading and I did not have follow-up comics to see it connect into the Bane story of him breaking Batman's back. The issue I had did not even have bane in it to my knowledge, just experimental dummies. But a significant moment in the issue was Batman was in a sewer and there was a collapse. Batman was separated from a little girl he was trying to save, and she was about to drown. He did not have the strength to move the rocks and she drowned. He had to live with that. Can you do a video on that past saga and how it connects to the Bane story, if it does at all.

Hey Rob, could you do an explained video on Alpha. You remeber Alpha right? 😂. He was supposedly beyond omega class power levels and was an "alpha" class hero whose powers were tied to the universe itself. He went on a couple of adventures with spider man and early defeated Terrax herald of galactus until his powers were taken away by spider man and might be given back when he matures. He was just a god-like teen, incredibly similar to starboard (I forgot his name) from starbound and nightmask.
Edit: I found out he first always in amazing spider man #692 in august 2012 + he also has infinitely recharging cosmic powers and also appeared in Superior Spider man where doc Ock tried to harness his power
See batman as a Rival truely fit Foe that constantly pushing you to new heights something a could see Bane see Batman as .Someone as a worthy rival to keep alive so to continue grow and test banes wits and skills.

This Bane story was great. the movie version was cool but still falls short to the comic books. I hope they don't change his story too much in rebirth. I would like to see a story about Raven from DC on Comics Explained. Also would like to see something on Angela, and Sera from marvel. No one talks about them. two females I feel that could beat almost anyone the marvel universe.
