Stephen, I've got a lot of sympathy for that view. I'm an IT person and I want to automate stuff - we shouldn't be needing to individual click to hide each chat conversation. That's thousands of collective clicks cumulatively and it seems pretty weak functionality-wise. Perhaps Teams could just dynamically 'drop off' previous chats after X amount of time without a recent contact with parties in the chat? Or give users a way to hide all non-current chats in one fell swoop. And also -- the whole Teams program doesn't feel as 'silky' or as 'responsive' as I feel it should in this day and age. In fact, I felt that its predecessor in the office messenging/chat space, i.e. Skype for Business - was more responsive, more 'silky, if you can call it that. Teams needs more focus on making the daily and repetitive easy and painless.
I'm trying to figure out why the person I just deleted from the Team is still able to chat with me and others.... I deleted them. On the hunt to find out why and came across this helpful video.

When you delete, they will not show in the other's person's chat. In your chat, you will see message deleted or something along those lines for a short while.
I hide almost all my chats after a conversations are done and archive emails, so I can be easily notified of new ones. I hate that when you accept a meeting, the email is deleted, I would love for it to be archived. An a way to unhide all chats. Once I needed to contact new co-worker who I had chatted with but forgot their name and had already hidden the chat, I work remotely, so I had to embarrassingly email a colleague to get the name.
It does not. It only shows you read it or the seen it icon, when you have the chat active in Teams. So even if you did not hide it, and someone text you, as long as you don't click on that chat, the seen icon does not appear.

Great question. No, the conversation from a meeting can't be deleted. Also, even one person that puts in a post can't delete their own conversation. When you are doing a one-on-one chat or group chat you can delete your own chat, but not in a meeting conversation.
Brandon, if someone deletes the message they typed, I don't know they deleted it. Here are two screenshots. The one on the left, has Carol's message to me. Then, Carol delete the message. You can hide the an entire chat, but you can't hide part of the chat.
Why I hate TEAMS: can't delete years of chats or phone calls! Come on Microsoft! Stop making Beta apps and pretending they are actually R4P!

example B - I have tested this twice. Anyone in the group can change the name. For example A - I would assume it is the same as example B.

I don't believe you can change a read receipt once it's been done, but you can turn them off for future use. Under Settings, Privacy, Read Receipts

Camille, the default font color for a chat can be changed. That would be a nice feature.

That is not possible unless you just deleted one, then you will see undo.

not that I know of. Only suggestion is to not hide them, but *Pin* the chats you need and then collapse *Recent* .

Are you using Teams with a company account? If yes, you may want to check with your IT department to see if they have disabled this.

you can't delete the entire conversation. Coming at some point. For now, just hide it. That is what I do.
