I am a writer. And now that I am 70, and I suspect John is 'getting up there" as well, that teaching/mentoring thing becomes so incredibly important. Giving younger musicians the benefit f what you know, your years of expertise, and craft. Well, it is simply great. I am a music lover, do not myself, play an instrument. Yet I find these, and Jeff Hamilton's drum tutorials just delightful and well worth watching! Gentlemen, thank you.
John Clayton you give fantastic tips, I am a beginner upright bassist. I enjoy theses videos, please do more. I noticed when you have leaning against your body the bass moves with you and have more control of it. I don't want my bass to fall !! I have listed you as one of my influences.
I think John Clayton might just be the friendliest man in jazz. Thank you for these videos, you’re an inspiration Mr. Clayton!
