I understand why Japanese youth have abandoned the homes of their elders and prefer to live in Tokyo in 65.9 square meters apartment's which don't allow for pets. But the countryside is not boring or uninteresting when you are willing to put in the hard work which can make life very satisfying and enjoyable and this video is proof of that.
I'm in love with the life you've created for yourself in Japan.
Visiting and backpacking for like 4 months in the Japanese countryside is a dream I've had since I was a child. The way you capture the essence of life over there just makes me yearn for something I've never experienced outside of media. Mahalo nui loa for sharing your journey with us.

Wow i actually watched your first ever video last year, and then i totally forgot about your channel until today when it just decided to pop up into my recommended videos!
Pancake is never outside alone, and these monkeys stay pretty far if humans are around.
I literally have been putting this on the TV in my office as background noise and it has made me so calm and relaxed. Also envious of a life I feel I could never live myself. Keep up the fantastic work.

In one hour you captured the best things. The playful puppy, the clouds on the mountains, the rain, the bird sounds, the frogs. Love the close ups, the soft and just right background music. The skillful edits juxtaposing the rice growing to herald the growing season. I've never seen rice planting and harvesting before - and the machine used is the same used to plant sea oats along the North Carolina dunes. I love this so much. Felt like I was watching a Hayao Miyazaki film - but better.

I've been following you for a while now and happy to say that our Akiya Dream is about to come true. We left B.C. in Feb and are looking to get a place in central (re: rural) Kyoto-fu. It's been about 3 years in the planning and it's finally coming to fruition. The change of lifestyle will be a challenge but a joy as well. Your insights have been enlightening.
