Can i use this transmitter for my wltoys f959 glider cz mine original transmitter is completely gone ,so please check it out for me I humbly request you
I started this hobby flying helicopters first and that helped me a lot before I flew quads. I have had this heli about a year and a half and as you saw, you can't fly too far away from you and it is not that good in windy conditions. You have to learn to keep it level as you said. Unlike quads helis are a little more of a challenge to sport fly but once you get the hang of it, you can fly just about anything. Keep up the good work guys and don't give up on the helis.
Abby did awesome!.... Review of the crash footage: I have to say Abby did nothing wrong flying, the first downing looks like a control lockout, looks like it possibly lost command from the transmitter and came down (video footage), the things Abby was saying during the incident seem to correlate that scenario. (audio portion). All in all, looks like a very docile flyer with limited controls. Thank you and I love it when Abby flies.....
DrTeddyMMM .....most toy grade controls are low power. FCC regs limit max power at 200mw and Spektrum has their LP unit at 100mw for their toy grade copters. The EU regs are at 25mw which isn't much and you can lose it at 200 feet or so depending on interference.
Careful, easy to get 'hooked' ;-) As a long time r/c heli pilot in my experience nothing compares to a heli. It feels like you are literally in the cockpit due to the realism. I love my drones, but they don't compare to the heli experience. Thanks for the video! Have fun guys!
Personally I agree with you,Helicopters are more Fun than drones because of the movements and the difficulty which makes the helicopter cool and if you try 6ch,You will be amazed because the acrobatics and inverted Flight are awesome!I recommend everyone to get helicopters. and Ik you can’t use a camera but I’ve seen people putting GoPro on their helicopter which means helicopter can do the same key things as a drone!
Great job guys, be aware of the EU regs on transmitter are 25mw, whereas the US is 200mw. My first copters were the dual rotors 3.5 channel ones. I then got a couple of used Align T-Rex 450 collective pitch ones and spent more time programming, adjusting and fixing them than flying. Now they just sit on a shelf next to a newly built E-Flight 550 which I stripped a gear when landing. I do fly the 130 size E-Flite and my CPX which are out of the box ready to BNF, and they do it well. My 130 is pimped out with the Lynx 150 kit and is carbon and aluminum. The aftermarket parts for some of these RC airplanes, helicopters and vehicles are crazy awesome and make a difference in the handling. Good luck with that and have fun.
You mentioned about non functioning buttons on top of the Tx in the video. On the V912 (same heli as the V913 but smaller) the top left button used to change from Low to High rates and would beep when you pressed it, it would also show the Letter L or H on the mainscreen. The top right button is for even higher rates but there is a trick to using it. To use it you had to press it and hold it down whilst flying, this increased the rates quite a bit and gives you a bit more power when trying to cut through any light breeze. When you no longer need the extra high rates, just let go of the button. A lot of guys, including me, replaced this button with a flip switch so that it could be activated and there was no need to hold the button down. You just had to remember to flip the switch back if you wanted a bit more gentle flying. Not sure if this is still the same for the V913 Tx but worth checking.
Cool review, you guys did a good job. It is clear however that when the video was made, you both were not yet used to helicopter flying, with all the straight dashes, tail-rotor turns and straight dashes back, with no real use of cyclic or rolling into the turns. I take it that by now you've refined your flying a bit more with helis, they're a whole different ball game as compared to multi-rotors. Good video, thanks for posting. Liked, subscribed.
Yeah that's the trouble I had with helicopter rcs they ain't easy too control but Abby did better than I did. Well done her. That's why people like drones as they are more stable now that they have all the built in extras.
V911-2 and PRO finally then I added V977 brushless flybarless 6 channel....However flybar strike does happen and the explanation of which you did was OUTSTANDING. Yes new pilots fly bar does help out seasoned eh it can be a hazard.
I have this same v913 model and I like it, it's surprisingly good for that low price. I have a GoPro-clone video camera and I hooked it to this copter, between the skids with some insulation pad and rubber bands, and was surprised how well it carried the extra weight of the camera. I took some nice flight videos with it, but the same thing happened as in this video: I was flying with "H" rate enabled, flying forward and made a normal turn and suddenly I lost control and crashed. It wasn't a pilot mistake or a transmitter problem, this copter has some weird problem in it's flying charasteristics. Another thing I want to mention is that the batteries are not good. I ordered mine with 3 batteries, and all of them went bad in less than six months, they bulged and looked like balloons and I had to throw them away before they exploded. I can't blame it because it was so cheap, but it's a sad thing because otherwise it's a very good copter for training and having some fun time.
Just a quick question that you might not be able to answer...... I just purchased this V912 from Banggood but it came without the transmitter. Would you have any thoughts as to how one would bind this to a different transmitter other than the one provided by WLToys? The instruction manual leaves a lot to be desired but I am stuck here. Thanks for any light you might be able to shed on this problem!
I have this heli. It is a blast to fly. Very stable, very fast. I mounted a camera and got some great video. One downside. I flew it almost daily and since motors are brushed, have worn out tail motor. Repair parts are on the way. Hate that I. AOG for so long, though.
I've had this for a number of years , it's a lot of fun but a little underpowered with the brushed motor that it comes with it. I bought the brushless motor kit and installed it , now we're talking it gives it the extra power that you want , it's worth the 40 bucks i paid for the kit.
great helicopter piloting, is there anything you can't fly? Geez...... you are a jack-of-all-trades, a real JOAT of the hobby industry. Hat's off to you mate!!!
I have had mine for three years. I converted it to brushless. It isnt a speed demon thats for sure. I have enough spare parts to fix it several times. For a beginner,it is a great thing. I think you were hard on the thing as far as the flybar. My next one will not have one eather but in its defence, they are a beginner model. Mine also has drop out problem when it goes too far. I had mine fly away the first time I flew it,the receiver stopped working and the thing just flew off into a 30 ft tree. I was able to get it down using a cross bow and fishing line.
had the v913 great helicopter.. the button on the top right is a speed button you have to hold it down to make it work, many people added a switch so you don't have to hold it down.
I just saw on the Horizon Hobby site the Blade Zeyrok Drone has another price drop, 49.99 BNF, 59.99 with Camera, that is a killer price for a Blade Spektrum controlled quad, I hope you can grab one for Review. Much better then any of the WLtoys stuff
Found this video as I am looking for a outdoor Helicopter and this one seemed perfect for my needs, however, Gearbest has discontinued this product, unfortunately. Fantastic review and Nate's explanation of how the Fly Bar functions and it's flight characteristics to anticipate, where extremely helpful! Thanks a bunch for this excellent review and take great care! JP
That is a great video that you all did and I am a big customer of this helicopter but my main concern is the only problem that occurs on each new one I buy is that the tail runner winds up spinning out of control will not stop don't know why that helicopter does that with each new one I buy would like a good feedback from the company or maybe you can answer it thumbs up
I'm impressed how much this looks like the actual mechanism a helicopter would have, swash plate, etc. I wonder how it would fly if you shortened the flight bar?
I have one of those.. Abby, you didn't do anything wrong. The flybar is weird, and it'll keep counteracting your control inputs if you don't level off your controls after a while. If you get it going too quick, the stupid flybar hits the canpoy too. Hah. You've got to fly it super gently.
The 913 is a good forgiving heli and looks pretty in the air. It's smaller brother the V912 is much more sporty and responsive though. Abby would like it better :). The newer flybarless helicopters like the Blade 230S are truly great to fly.
Love your channel. I'm waiting on my fully upgraded Blade 230s V2 to arrive. Are you two planning on doing a review of one? From what I understand, they are amazing Helicopters.
mine broke in second flight :( tail motor broke when using 2nd battery. Replaced the tail motor n gears but it jst spins like crazy. Got any idea why it might be doing that?
It seems that the Rx PCB has broken down. Maybe the helicopter took a bad crash, or it simply was a defective Rx. Replace it with a new one. The cost is about 10 €. These PCBs are not very durable though.
Hey guys the button on the top right is like a turbo button for you hi and low rates, myself I just add a toggle switch down below it in the front connected right to the button , this way you won't have to hold it , the button will still work, I did this to my v915 transmitter , has the same set up , glad to see this 913 is built better than the 915 , I like the looks of it , and it flights great , but don't look at it wrong , love you guys
Awesome video!! both of you flew it very good. They are really fun to fly in a park, or when you have two or more flying around together at the same time. And props to Abby on knowing that is was called the flybar! awesome!! And Nate, I'm sure that you and Abby would love a flybarless helicopter. maybe you could look into one. But either way, great flying...both of you. Always enjoy watching your videos. Till the next one. *Happy Flying*. Randy Houston,Tx
How well would it fly without the flybar? It provides pitch and roll stability by gyroscopic stabilization. This also means it provides roll and pitch change resistance. Remove the rods, fly it again.
Thank You, from us helicopter fans. Somehow i find better orientation than a quad ( both fun ) but after this ,having fun with v911, skipping the v912 for a v913.
I have a Novus FP200, OLD heli that's about this size and design. I consider that I've "outgrown" it, I keep trying to do things that the flybar stops me from doing, and recently blasted half the parts off my heli when I smashed into the side of the house at full speed ... It's still fun to fly though. I just keep trying to make it do things it can't. ... now I need to put an FPV cam on it.
I recently bought this controller from a thrift store in town, thinking that I could use it for my 1/6 scale H1 hummer. Unfortunately I don't think that's gonna work. Thoughts...?
@@downsouth822 no it is totally different, you got to give it a little more time to turn careful on decent but if you can manually fly a drone it only takes one good flight really, the experience is better tho,the sounds the big blades chopping up the air the way it banks looks awsome
Received mine 5 days before Christmas, since than I have flown it less than a dozen times. Today the rear motor stop working, from time to time it runs but not consistently. Fortunate this isn't an expensive helicopter.
everytime i ordered something from gearbest I get a free adapter even if I didn't need it! so I got a bunch of them laying around! nice review! happy flyin
I've gone through some helicopters a long while ago before quads came along, I hated fixing them after a crash, my biggest one was the Blade 400. I sold them all except a mcx and a mcpx for indoor flying in the winter. you should throw a micro fpv camera on there and try to fly it fpv ;-)
That helicopter is a lot of fun until the tail motor fails. Unfortunately they don't last very long at all. FYI you can use that transmitter on the V911, It's a lot more precise.
Hi guys, good to see a heli on the channel. Really enjoyed the video 👍.. I will check the pricing out in these.. You can be quite aggressive with some helis with flybars as its got a flybar does not mean you can't have a fast and aggressive flight (give sharp fast inputs) I think with this heli it's just a combination of things, not the best quality gyro and a slight too heavy flybar.. Still seems like a good enjoyable heli though.. Happy rc-ing 👍
Thanks a lot for tuning in, and for the feedback! I didn't realize a heli could still fly aggressively with a flybar. I'll have to find a nicer version of this and see what else is out there!
Yeah, that is a very heavy flybar...maybe try taking off the weights, and add some lighter weights...that would lessen the gyroscopic effect created, and the pendulum effect would be less pronounced...furthermore, the aircraft would be able to accelerate quicker, and go faster.
Thanks, you two. I think I'm gonna order one. I'm a rookie and have zero experience with race drones, although I do have and fly a DJI Spark and a Parrot Anafi. Looks like fun. Thanks for a nice video.
Here is a cheap mod, replace flybar weight's w/ flybar paddle's. Increase's the head speed and make's it very much more responsive in the cyclic control's. Use 300 class size flybar paddles. My own mod.
I have one of these and it loses control very easily and then crashes and with all of those crashes the durability is actually not too good many costly repairs. I would not rate it too good and mine also has other problems with the controls linkages. oh well though it looks cool
I had one of these and mine did the same thing. If you flew it really hard it would just become unresponsive. Otherwise it's great for beginners. You guys should pick up the attachments. They make a grappling hook, missile launcher and water gun.
the fly bar was the first innovation that made helicopter flight possible What might be happening is She lost too much grip in the air around the rotor it will then stir the air rather than causing lift
The flybar is simply a mechanical gyro-stabilizer for the main rotor. Full-size helis dispensed with them by the 1970s, and models just 5 or 6 years ago, as all-electronic stabilization iand flybarless is now the norm in RC helis, and there are a lot of great ones out there. I love my 2015 TREX 550 with the G-PRO. Now, everyone uses the BEAST-X controller, which also like the G-pro, takes the place of the receiver and gyro.
Is it really just the same as flying quads? I mean I have big issues flying copters, because it always want you to control it, kinda. A quad doesnt always need that. But again. I have only flown toygrade quads. Haven thad the money to go to the better stuff. lol
It flies fairly well compared to some early and cheaper helis. Same basic body structure as the cheaper older ones (I know that coz I have a box FULL of bits) even down to the landing skids and mounts. Nice beginners machine
Abby - don't feel bad about crashing - I'm almost as good a pilot as Nate, but I flew three Flite Test Planes today - the first one I somehow augured in, needs some repair...the second one the motor fell off, and the third one I put in a tree. Tall tree. It's still there... so it happens... I did decide to take the rest of the day off from flying, though, lol...

I seem to recall in the V977 video the roles were reversed, but Nate was trying to do 3D tricks so keeping it in the air was going to be difficult.

Great review -and brilliant to see a helicopter featured, as they are often overshadowed by drones

Flown much rc plane at high altitudes visual flight, if fly this as high as possible you can save it in the mistakes.

Love what it says on the blades ... " Do not fly with borken or damaged "
Received mine 5 days before Christmas, since than I have flown it less than a dozen times. Today the rear motor stop working, from time to time it runs but not consistently. Fortunate this isn't an expensive helicopter.
What’s The Difference between V912 and V913
Too bad on the Crashes... Happy to see the helo is durable enough to take the beating... Not too shabby Field-Maint. Nate!
5:14 Whoa man, that was a nice landing!
please tell price this helicoptar
everytime i ordered something from gearbest I get a free adapter even if I didn't need it! so I got a bunch of them laying around! nice review!
Hi please tell price this helicopter
Hello sir Iam see your video I like your video and where we can buy rc v913 helicopter
Yeah, that is a very heavy flybar...maybe try taking off the weights, and add some lighter weights...that would lessen the gyroscopic effect created, and the pendulum effect would be less pronounced...furthermore, the aircraft would be able to accelerate quicker, and go faster.
Great review and thanks for the video!
kind
Is this high quality hobby grade?
Thanks, you two. I think I'm gonna order one. I'm a rookie and have zero experience with race drones, although I do have and fly a DJI Spark and a Parrot Anafi. Looks like fun.
Thanks for a nice video.
Should be a fun new adventure for you!! Helicopters are a blast, and always an adrenaline rush :-) Thanks for tuning in my friend, Happy Flying!
I have some experience with drones cars and helicopters and there not all that hard to control
You should learn really quick
thanks.
Here is a cheap mod, replace flybar weight's w/ flybar paddle's. Increase's the head speed and make's it very much more responsive in the cyclic control's. Use 300 class size flybar paddles. My own mod.
I have one of these, get ready to have the flybar push you into the ground at high speeds if you try to fly this thing fast!
Durable 4 ch heli.Flys great ..Its be really good for learning to fly helis
I have one of these and it loses control very easily and then crashes and with all of those crashes the durability is actually not too good many costly repairs. I would not rate it too good and mine also has other problems with the controls linkages. oh well though it looks cool
Please get yourself a 6 ch heli one that can fly in full 3D ......love to see how you guy's do ....take care 🚁
We definitely want to get into helis one day :-)
Cool I see you guy's all the time didn't think you would respond thanks keep doing what you do ☺
Is it crash proof?
now you guys are ready to get a collective pitch and do those fancy 3d maneuvers! 😁😁😁
Will this helicopter be strong enough to carry an iPhone to record video fly overs with it?
bvgpsupt What Phone Do You Have? It depends, maybe you can Put a phone Handle And Tape it in there but It has to be like a iPhone 5
I had one of these and mine did the same thing. If you flew it really hard it would just become unresponsive. Otherwise it's great for beginners.
You guys should pick up the attachments. They make a grappling hook, missile launcher and water gun.
How much is this again Nate?
the fly bar was the first innovation that made helicopter flight possible What might be happening is She lost too much grip in the air around the rotor it will then stir the air rather than causing lift
The flybar is simply a mechanical gyro-stabilizer for the main rotor. Full-size helis dispensed with them by the 1970s,
and models just 5 or 6 years ago, as all-electronic stabilization iand flybarless is now the norm in RC helis, and there are a lot of great ones out there. I love my 2015 TREX 550 with the G-PRO. Now, everyone uses the BEAST-X controller, which also like the G-pro, takes the place of the receiver and gyro.
I had a lot of fun with the 911, and saw this on Amazon but didn't pull the trigger due to a lack of reviews.
Is it really just the same as flying quads? I mean I have big issues flying copters, because it always want you to control it, kinda. A quad doesnt always need that. But again. I have only flown toygrade quads. Haven thad the money to go to the better stuff. lol
The controls are exactly the same :) It tends to "drift" a little more though.
looks sweet . something different . I like the sound of it
It flies fairly well compared to some early and cheaper helis. Same basic body structure as the cheaper older ones (I know that coz I have a box FULL of bits) even down to the landing skids and mounts.
Nice beginners machine
I agree very much about it being an awesome beginner vehicle :)
didactylos4 diddy4 I have tons of extra parts too! I have had mine for two years. I converted it to brushless. It doesnt control very well however.
That was probably a wise choice ;)
