Lovely bit of footage, good to see the old Tirfor earnings it's keep. My Brother in Law buys ordinary posts and puts sum creosote in a 45 gallon drum and stasnds the posts inside fort let the creosote soak in to the section below ground.
Post knocker look a handy tool. We had a 'dibbler' and then the weight of the Matbro arm pushing down to finish it off. Strainers we had to dig in. Sorry, but my OCD would mean I would have to cut that grass back before fencing that bit :(
Longer lasting posts means you waste less time repairing fences. Which means you are able to get other things done. The time and labor saved is worth it.
I had the same with plain high tensile when i cut open a new roll . The cut end flew up , knocked my glasses off and just brushed past my eye . I was lucky and am more careful now .
You're a brave man fencing in those shorts!! 😂 Great video as always!

Lovely to hear Father describing the hedge and answering the question as to why it was needed.
Good job, and that is an excellent modification to the post knocker, should definitely be like that from new
Good job easier when you have the right tool for the job 👍
I would have run a topper on floor firstto to make easier

I’ve the same job to do this autumn as when we put the fence up originally the hedge cutter lad didn’t turn up early enough 🤦♂
I need to get that ringtone especially when a certain person keeps ringing me !!! But better than the death walk one I had. 🙄 good video Dan. 🙂👍
What about doing an interview with your dad?
Great video dan do you cut your own hedges in the autumn
Yes
Your a brave man working with barbed wire in shorts usually guaranteed blood flow in boilersuit 😂
Your cow's are looking good
Thanks.
We had a david thomas post knocker which was dangerous IMO. Yours looks a much better machine.

Appears to have passed inspection by No. 29.
do you only run 2 barb wire on perimeter fence?
Yes, when there's a hedge there too.
Why did you not take the opportunity to cut the hedge first, it would have made the whole job a lot easier?
One possibility is the restrictions on when hedges can be pruned.
Hedge was cut back in September.
We cannot cut them in July.
