Cheers Jim. Yeah I like to do my research. I learn a lot, and it gives a prospective buyer info on the wagon so they know if they fit into their era and region. So thanks for appreciating the historical info I added in. :-) always nice when someone enjoys what I film. Cheers. Dave
Nice video Dave, and you can certainly see why Accurascale won that richly deserved award recently. Accurascale and Dean Park, a detail match-up made in heaven!
I live in the United States and I have just started collecting OO gauge. I have not really heard of Accurascale until now. Might need to check them out. Judging by these they look really good!
It gets to the point where it sounds like Accurascale are sponsoring video reviews, but their products really are just so much better than other manufacturers and at a competitive price to match. It's hard to find fault in anything they're putting out there at the moment. Long may it continue as the hobby needs more companies like them around
Hi. Sadly I have no sponsors lol. Accurascale or anyone else. Lol I’m just a unpaid consumer like everyone else. I’m sure there are wee issues here and there, but i position my reviews from that of a normal Modeller, not a rivet counter or arm chair expert. I agree they are doing some good stuff just now.
@@DeanPark I'd say the rivet counters will be hard pressed to be overly critical of them as well. The real test will come with their Manors I feel, fingers crossed they can pull off locos as well as they've done with wagons so far so it lights a firecracker under certain major manufacturers
Accurascale are shaping up to be a great manufacturer and deserve all the accolades they're picking up at the moment. Stunning models, sensible pricing, good quality control and seem to care about their customers. The more companies like this we get entering our hobby (Rapido, Hattons, Dapol, GT, Sonic etc.) the more it pushes the big boys to re-think their quality, pricing and customer service - all of which currently leave room for improvement. Although these wagons aren't for me, I got 8 of their British Steel JSAs for £200 and they're so nice I don't even want to weather them. 2 Deltics on order, swithering about a 92 and pretty sure a rake of HAAs will be on the list too. Enjoying the channel Dave, keep up the good work.
Cheers. Thanks for commenting. Yeah the big two really have to sit up! Bachmann are upping their game but also their prices….significantly. Hornby…well they go from screw up to almost great, to screw up. If only they could sort their quality out!
Brilliant review Dave. Accurascale are really coming out with some good stuff lately. Those steel coil wagons look amazing so do the other wagons. All they need now is a bit of dirt and grime.- Nicholas.
They look great. Apart from the covers on the coil wagons, which really do no favours whatsoever for the actual wagons with their amazing details. Are the covers meant to be tarpaulins? Presumably they're just a plastic moulding on those models, but unless the covers were always stretched taut and very smooth, it looks like Accurascale could have spent a bit more time on the mould for the covers. The way Accurascale seem to get the plastic and metal parts of their wagons to blend visually so seamlessly is remarkable. Looking at your video, it's virtually impossible to distinguish which bits are plastic & which metal. I guess they must paint both, rather than rely on the colour of the plastic?
As much as I will be seen to be swimming against the tide, the unfitted minerals ( the only mineral version I have) are a very poor wagon, there shouldn't be a lamp iron on the door end, the buffers are a poor representation of the real thing, there is no drawbar pocket, the vee hangers are unevenly placed so the cross shaft doesn't lie parallel to the chassis, there is no interior detail on the overly thick sides, the axles are NOT 26mm at all and worse, they are 1.5mm in diameter, so giving lie to Accurascale's pre launch claim of easy conversion to wider gauges, I could go on, but no doubt I'll get jumped on by the rest of you!
That’s very interesting. I see your points. I hadn’t noticed the lamp iron issue. You should pass these observations on to accurascale. They’d be interested in feedback. Thanks for pointing these things out. Cheers. Dave
@@DeanPark Thanks for taking the comments as intended, it wasn't meant as a criticism of your good self! I started a line of communication with Accurascale, commencing with the wheel issue as this concerns me most as an EM modeller, and was ignored/fobbed off by various people, so it looks like I'll just have to suck it up and carry on dismantling the wagons to correct the faults, well, after all, isn't that what modelling is all about?!
The new accurascle wagons look brilliant and perform as good as they look thankyou for the video
My pleasure. They are good wagons. Cheer. Dave
Very interesting video, I like the fact you give the actual historical details as well as a full review of the wagons. Thank you.

I have some accurascale con flats they really are well made
Hi Dave, top marks to Accurascale. These wagons are a great addition to your layout. Cheers Greg
Cheers Greg. I do enjoy collection quality stock. These are another great item from a. Ew manufacturer. Dave

Cheers. Yeah accurascale are on top form just now. Thanks for your kind words too. :-) Dave
I would be tempted to run the coil wagons unprototypically without the covers. Seems a shame to cover all that lovely detail
I kind of thought the same. The ones I have are already sold out at accurascale! I’d imagine retailers still have them.

Nice looking wagons, they look great on your layout, once weathered, they'll look so realistic....
Yeah the detail will really start to pop once weathered.

Lovely free running detailed wagons.A great review mate.👍
Cheers. Yeah they are very free running.
All three look very impressive, sadly no space on Ewood for any of them.
Not my era or scale, but always worth a watch as your videos are interesting and well put together….also any excuse to see your layout 👍
Cheers Ron. :-)
Accurascale do some seriously impressive models . I’m waiting for their Deltic and Mk5s . I’m sure they will be top quality .
Those wagons look fantastic, accurascale do a great job on their models hopefully we will see their locomotives soon.
I hope they’re Deltic lives up to the images :-)
Another great informative update
Cheers. Dave
Very very nice as always by accurascale, I want some now . You always make me fail at saving money Dave lol 😂
Are these out now ?
Yes and selling quickly at accurascale.
Keep up the good work

your railway is a dream to watch
Cheers George.
Great models but do look amazingly clean.
They’re a Lovely product.
Good to see the silver buffer shanks on the coil wagons. But not the other two? Do they freewheel well- metal bearing (for a long rake)?
They roll soooo freely. Lots of nice touches.
Are the perforated strips on the steel coil wagon photo-etched parts? That would mean no drilling needed.
Oh they aren’t drilled. Etched would be my guess having studied them.
Quite tempted by the 21 tonners.....
They are stunning. Don’t hang about though, they seem to be selling quickly.
@@DeanPark Best get my skates on...
Nice wagons better behind a stream engine what was running around in the 1960s.

Odd how the covered wagons have fabulous insides, whereas the other two have no interior detailing - which is a shame if you want to run them empty.
Sorry but there is no detail to add surely?. They are a metal box.
@@maringarvanovic8011 The sides have openings - which must be visible on the inside as well as the outside.
