I have been watching Phil Ivey play poker for 15 plus years and he is an incredible player- his demeanour and aggressiveness is why he is the best. He gets people watching. LEGEND

Hellmuth has 15 bracelets vs. Ivey's 10. Hellmuth has won the main event and main event Europe. Ivey never won a no limit holdem bracelet. Hellmuth is the GOAT.
@@GreenEnvy. ph has had more tournament success. Ivey has had the most success in all facets and variants of poker. Online, short, tourney, plo, hu, etc. Ivey the goat. Easily.
@@davidpetrosky It depends on what you define as more successful. I tend to think someone who's got 5 more bracelets as more successful. Helmuth has also beaten bigger fields to win his bracelets. Most of Ivey's 10 bracelets have had less than 150 entrants. Plus beating Johnny Chan for the main event tilts me in Helmuth's favor for the GOAT. That said, there's certainly a valid argument to be made that Ivey is the GOAT due to his success in all poker games. It's close, but I'm going with Helmuth, even though his personality sucks.
Wow every hand the card-gods were with Yong when it was heads up and Phil still had him 2-1 underdog to win up against aces. then the lucky bastard cracks the aces.

Hi guys in the comments, I am a beginner poker player and I have a question for you: In a NL Texas Hold'Em game, after the flop, as the first person to bet, are you allowed to bet less than the value of the big blind? I'll make an example: the blinds are 100/200. After the first betting round the flop is shown and the first person to bet, bets just 50. Can he/she do that? Or does he/she have to bet at least 200? Same question for turn and river. Thank you in advance!
WAS pretty happy to find this, as I'd not seen it yet. Until I saw the first comment. Guess I'll pass now. Wish there was a way to allow people to comment, w/out giving away what happened, like, maybe have the comments hidden, with a "spoiler alert" -type of option, that lets us know the results are revealed in the comments below. Or something. Who knows.
@@PokerXpress Yeah, what I tried to do, lol. It just happened to be the first comment- kinda hard to miss, while getting ready to hit play. It was just a thought. I can still go through and see what cost Mr. Ivey this time.

You know, it's really disappointing that almost every video of a pro "dominating" a final table is just them getting lucky runouts over and over again rather than actual good play. It may take skill to get to a final table, but playing at it once you're there is basically flipping a coin.
ivey should have been done long ago before heads up...He sucked out BIG TIME while being DOMINATED in so many hands....Almost Unbelievable how LUCKY he was getting...Luck is always needed in Poker and the Luck gods were shining down BRIGHTLY on ivey during most of this final table
Then, there are people at the level of us mere mortals...swearing their heads off and abuse the other player for outdrawing their top pair with opened ended flush draw...or beating their AAs with KKs... :D
If i ever win a 6 or 7 figure prize, i'm going to take it in cash and go bury some of it on one of those islands. totally serious too. At least for Americans, it can be very hard to protect your money if it is in banks and such.
