Q and a what's the best way to get closer to god
Reading scripture and praying and don't forget sound teaching
And apply the word, it’s so important we must be doers of the word and not just hearers. And the same applies to me too.
Can anyone give some advice pls I’m doubting my salvation and I don’t know what to do. I literally can’t even function knowing that I might not be known by Jesus Christ. Without him I don’t even want to exist
Don’t let satan play with your mind.
Keep your thoughts on Jesus Christ and follow him.
Repent and believe. Until He knows you, and you truly know Him; when that happens there’s nothing sure than standing before Him as His beloved known child and not as a separated sinner. John 5:24; Rom 10:9-10; 1 John 5:12-13.
Seek Christ! Seek His face! That’s what I’m doing! Get into the presence of God! Thank Him that He died for you! You are a horrible person! And Jesus forgave everything! As the Scriptures says, Stay in the Love of God! And what does that do? The Holy Spirit will CONVICT you of what you have done WRONG, and will lead you into greater and greater holiness! Give your self to prayer also, the presence of Jesus by meditating on His love and prayer. DO THOSE 2 things and watch God move!
In the words of R.C. Sproul let me ask you these questions and then you answer them honestly.
1. Do you love Jesus Perfectly?
2. Do you love Jesus as much as you ought love him?
3. Do you love Jesus at all?
If the first question you answered was no, then the second will likely be a no, but the third question will give you your answer.
What affection does an unregenerate person have for Jesus?
If you do love him at all, that's a good sign. And he that hath begun a good work in you, will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Look to Jesus Christ and trust in Him and what he's done for you. Come to God in prayer and cry out to Him. Listen to God, by reading His word.
I struggle with sin and doubt and get afraid God will reject me. But God is perfect. He is faithful and never fails.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that WHOEVER BELIEVES in HIM should not perish but have eternal life.
John 6:40
For this is the will of my Father, that EVERYONE who looks on the SON and BELIEVES in HIM should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.
John 6:37
All that the Father gives me will come to me, and WHOEVER COMES TO ME I WILL NEVER CAST OUT.
