Congrats. Riding End to End is a BIG deal! We LIVE on the Katy Trail (by design). We have ridden the Katy in both directions several times. Those are OUR Vintage and Antique Bikes you sat on in our Front Yard of the Brick Farm House. ;-) Thanks for stopping by.
Thanks for the excellent video! Super useful info as well as a great look at the trail and towns. I’ve been wondering how to break it up and fourths might be the way.
I loved your perspective, we do often focus on the challenge ahead of us rather than the enjoying the easy ride we are currently one. Congrats on finishing this beautiful trail!
Really enjoyed your video. Looking to ride at least part of the trail this spring (end of May 2021). Hoping to start at the Eastern end, leave my car there, and have someone take me and my gear to the western end so I can do the whole 250 miles in five days. Re-posting your video on Facebook (I hope you don't mind) to see if others in my bike-packing group are interested. We've done a few trips on the GAP trail in the past. It's always more fun when you can share the adversity. Looking to ride West to East. Let me know if you have any advice.
I just watched your Pennsylvania trip. It was my first time to ever watch somebody live off a bike. I'm also hoping to do the full Katy trail this summer at some point.
What a great trip. This trail is on my bucket list. Are you the geocacher? I would have to find as many as I could along the way. What Trek bike are you riding? What's your next trail ride? So many questions.
I have the Trek 7.0 Has served me well. As for future rides, Who knows?! But I'd like to do the KATY again, but starting in Lee's Summit on the Rock Island instead of Clinton. Next year, I'm planning the trail on the Erie Canal or RAGBRIA... or BOTH! LOL I do geocache, but Pam is more active at it. Hope to see you down the trail!
Dusty’s Adventure it is vey do able i rode both ways in a week. Had a couple of 100 mile days same section each way. Slept in B&B’s have to say it would have been nicer to do it in 10 days both directions to enjoy the community more. The ride is great anyway you do it!!
I should have also said we just did a video on Halloween of our bikes all decorated for Halloween. You might get a kick out of it. We too are cyclists. ;-)
As I watched the guy in the light blue helmet, I was wondering what sort of work he did, was he a lawyer? Or perhaps a Surgeon of some sort. All in all this was a great video by what seemed to be a really regular bunch. Thanks.
Thanks! My bike is a basic Trek FX. My friend Pam used a road bike with the skinny tires, and Danny was on an eBike. I went 10-12 mph mostly. The first two days were much harder to maintain that all day. Day 3 and 4 my body must have gotten used to it all, as they were a breeze.
I rode the Trans-Am 2018 and diverted off to ride the Katy trail for me it was a disappointment flat and boring to ride .Riding the Rockies was far more exciting .But if you enjoyed it now you can go on bigger rides.Chapeau .
Pam and I left our cars in St. Charles and drove a Rental Car (SUV with our two bike's stashed in the back) to Clinton, MO. Enterprise Rent a Car has an office just blocks from the Katy Trail's West Terminus. I'd verify Enterprise's office hours in Clinton before you try it. Danny rode his ebike to meet us there.

I just have to say that EVERYONE I talk to loves your Bike decorations along the KATY. You make it all that much more fun to ride and enjoy!
@@treasuresofthetrail1737 Thank you for these kind words. ;-) Merry Christmas.
Great Entertaining video.. I hope to do before end of 2022.. love the "Low Point" Gag.. Thank You.. Pedal On !!
Better Title: "Guy talks to his camera for 18 minutes, Katy Trail tangentially involved"
Thanks for the excellent video! Super useful info as well as a great look at the trail and towns. I’ve been wondering how to break it up and fourths might be the way.
Fun fun fun ! And of course there is nothing like sleeping in the GREAT out-of-doors, in a hammock, waking up with dew on your lilly.
Great video. I love your perspective on things.
Congratulations on the impressive accomplishment!

Great video. I just happened across it this morning. Never been past Jeff City but I will soon.
BRAVO!!! What a nice vid!
Doing the Katy W to E in early October in a few weeks.
Safe travels.
Same! Looking at Oct 24 with a group of 5. What about you?
10/12-10/16 me and a buddy are riding eastbound. Should be beautiful fall weather.
Very enjoyable video. I like the scenery, the music and I like your comments and philosophy.
Love this! We're looking to this next year! Thanks for sharing
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I hope to do the trail very soon.
I appreciate the enthusiasm!
And made me laugh quite a few times 🤣

Hey great, leaving in a week to ride from coast to coast. I’ll be riding The Katy trail across MO from east to west. Hope to see you out there.
@@TravelingThru222 I'm subscribed, so I can't wait to see how it goes for you.

Looks like a lot of fun. Great video. Did you have any flats?
Enjoy being on the adventure with you. What kind of bike did you use and what was your average speed. Also I liked your down hill philosophy. Thanks

What month did you cycle?
Our trip was Early May, 2020. The weather was unusually cool.
Like your helmet, what kind is it? Great vid!
My helmet was made by Giro.

So is there a shuttle service that runs you back to your car?

@@treasuresofthetrail1737 thank you for the reply.
You went East bound
