I've spent a cumulative hour today watching your masterclasses. If you had told me a day ago that I'd spend that much time watching someone teach me how to iron, I'd have said you were crazy. But here we are!
Patrick was one of my first bespoke tailor too! What a blast from the past for me. I think he made me 2 suits in the late 90s. He did not have a moustache then. Thanks for the video.
Love the Cantonese convo! And I am surprised that I could slowly follow the conversation. If I am back in Asia, WW Chan is definitely on my bucket list
Such informative, yet easily digestible content is so rare to find these days. At first I thought the master tailor was speaking Vietnamese, based on the tone, yet it turns out he's a Cantonese speaker. As a European learning Vietnamese, that was a fascinating discovery!
Thank you for this video! Please do more of these masterclasses. Brilliant way of showcasing the craftspeople behind The Armoury’s products. I also appreciated how you went through everyday care and gave a sense of how frequently advanced care is needed. Suit jacket care next please? :)
Respect from Shanghai, China. I have been interested in the bespoke tailorship for the last two months and have been learning about all aspects of knowledge of this industry. You channel is very great and inspiring and I also have learned a lot from them. Thanks for your efforts and I know that WW Chan also has chain stores in Shanghai and Chengdu in Mainland China. It was called the Red Gang tailorship and was orignated from Shanghai and started its HongKong career since the 1950s. Will definitely buy their prodcuts and service soon in Shanghai. Of course when this pandemic finishes, I will also visit the Armoury tailorship and masters when I visit Central, HongKong!
This is an amazing video especially handy when you travel. It will be amazing if we see the same for blazers and shirts. I think shirts will be the most useful one as a lot of people don't actually know how to iron a shirt properly, it will be great as a life lesson for most of us. Thank you!
@@markchodotcom thank you Mark! It will be interesting to see how a tailor will recommend ironing the creases/folds on the cuff. Also your canto is pretty good 😊
Gréât vidéo. Thanks for the tips, especially the one about matching the seams! I had a pair of pleated trousers totally wet by the rain a few weeks back, and totally lost the seams. It was a pain to iron it and I didn’t do it properly. I’ll get back at it now that I have a proper method !
Great episode! Both entertaining and helpful. Thank you. Hope you’ll continu to do these masterclasses. For example: how to maintain wool jumpers, suede (shoes/jackets), store your winter/summer collection.
It’s really lovely to hear some Cantonese content from you guys! As I’m a Hong Konger recently got into menswear. Although it’s strange to hear Mark speaking Cantonese, please continue to make more brilliant contents like this (more Cantonese please!), keep it up!
I love this channel. I learn quite a bit about menswear, fit, color, texture, fabric, and now care. This video has taught me the most of any on pressing. This is another on of your videos that I will be watching more than once. Great content!!
my local dry cleaner pressed my pleated trousers slightly off the old crease and now it looks like there´s two creases... is there any way to fix this? like pressing them or removing the crease all togheter and re do it? Id love to hear if there was a fix for this! Amazing to watch a true master of his craft!
I have a question, to avoid the shines, is it okay to iron my damp cotton chinos inside out? And what are the cons of doing that? Great video, by the way. 👍
Loved this! Picked up quite a few useful tips on when and how to use the steam function on the iron - up till now I've just been pressing down on the crease with the steam running but clearly that's bad technique! - so thanks very much for arranging the video. Would love to see Patrick back (maybe on the extent that jackets can be maintained at home?) but until then, are there any garment brush makers that you would recommend?
please bring him back for sure, loved hearing from the master!
seeing him ironing the trousers is mesmerizing!
and cantonese is a plus, adding some local vibe!

Wow, thanks for the masterclass! The part for ironing chinos was especially helpful. Would love to see more of Patrick on the channel.
Thanks to these two fine gentlemen for a most infomative video!
Great video and great tips! I got a question: How to remedy a pair of mirroring pants?
Wow finally an absolute pro at work. Best ironing video! I’ll visit when I’m in HK! Thanks!
More Patrick please!
I didn't think a video about ironing trousers could be so fascinating and yet this is amazing
What an informative video! Thank you. Love from Spain 🫶

This man is a master at his craft...I glad Patrick gave us his time..PEACE

Another great video! I hope we will someday see a video on jacket care and mantenance. Thanks
Thanks mark and Patrick for your detail video .
Please have Patrick back. Great video.

A very good series. Patrick knows his craft.
Doing the lords work! Thank you Mark and Patrick.
That was really helpful. I hope Patrick can return for more episodes in the future.

More videos in Cantonese please! For those who enjoy classic menswear and the language, this channel offers an excellent resource.
more on the way!
Much more useful than the previous edition. Particularly appreciated the tips on chinos and how to find a crease when trousers come without it.

Awesome video. I learned something. Thank you!
This is great! Gotta press a pair to look sharp for Thanksgiving! Thank you for tips!

What does Patrick use for the pressing cloth? What dimensions (length/width) do you/Patrick recommend for it?
Fantastic tutorial. Thanks Mark and Patrick for making this. Helpful!
I love hearing Cantonese (even though I can barely understand it).

If you have a steamer use that to remove both. Then follow the video to restore the creases. Remember use distilled water
I have a question, to avoid the shines, is it okay to iron my damp cotton chinos inside out? And what are the cons of doing that?
Great video, by the way. 👍
Learned a lot.
Thank you so much for making this video! This is so helpful, and fun to watch!
Great masterclass
Damn Mark is speaking Cantonese amazing
A great video! Love this channel!
There is always more to learn about how to take care of your clothes. Thank you!
You are so welcome!
Very informative, thank you!
Great vid

A true masterclass!
Still one of the best videos on clothing maintenance I've watched! 👍🏻
Glad it was helpful!
You’ve no idea how useful this was for me, thank you so much for this amazing video! :)
Glad it was helpful!
This probably a dumb question but I’ll ask anyway. Is a pressing cloth just a piece of cotton fabric?
What is the model of this tefal iron you used in this video
GREATEST THANKS RALPH 🙏.
Thank you for the video. Patrick shared some useful tips! Would love for you to invite him back.
I need to know how to put a crease in trousers that someone else has messed up or ironed out (😩) please
Impressive and informative.....we thank you..PEACE
if possible, it would be awesome if you and your team could share some tips on how to keep your pants all day long. Thank you!
Dry cleaning every 10 wears sounds alot. I guess it's necessary in a humid country, in contrary to here in West Europe
*goes hunting around the house for an old pillow and dumbbell
Is it better to steam Your trousers Or iron them
a good press is necessary to keep the sharp creases on the trousers!
🙏 Thank You sooo much for your Video....Ive been "Scorching the Crap" out of my Trousers for
years and have never bothered to figure out why...lol😂😢😊
great
So I am now confused ; does steam reduce wrinkles or is it better to iron dry?
two key steps Patrick always preaches whenever we talk to him. First use steam to release wrinkles and then use heat only when pressing
Didn't realize to turn on subtitles until I didn't understand what "mirroring" is. What is it exactly?
When the fabric gets glossy/shiny, I think :)
Is anyone aware of the pressing cloth he is using?
Wow surprise and surprise. Mark speaks Cantonese. And mark used to be with WW Chan wow
V good

馬克石講中文咁大件事無人講?
Respectfully I don’t think we need the camera to move in and out so much. Seasickness
