the 6ghz band is mostly for line of sight. it does not penetrate walls or objects well. Feel like they should point this out. 2.4ghz is best for range and getting through stuff. 5Ghz is already weak at this task. 6ghz takes that weakness to another level.

Unlike many, I have had nothing but the best experience with my RBR50/RBK50 Tri-pak that I purchased when they were first available. My only issue has been the lack of non-volatile logging, in case of a reboot. It has been years now and I am interested in how these newer models compare and if they are worth the upgrade. I only use FIOS 1gb and a dedicated firewall. I would love additional speed, but like others have said, $1,400 is out of the question.
Those things are huge! Kudos to stuffing so much into them though.
While you provide the ability to separate the 6E network from the other WiFi 6 networks, do you also offer the option to use band steering between 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz if we so choose?
I had very high hopes for the Netgear RBKE963 that I purchased on 1/15/2022.
Performance was very strong in the beginning, till 3-4 month later. It's very
good when everything works, but good luck when you lose power even when I have
a APC UPS. The power grid in the south - Atlanta isn't the best, honestly. I
called tech support immediately when after multiple reboots on the Orbi app
and manual reboots. Some of the IoT devices and wifi laptops refuse to connect.
Laptops would display connected, but No Internet, secured. Frustrating as hell!
Tech support ticket was opened on 4/3 and several debug logs uploaded and as of
4/26 no response and a solution. I can't imagine anyone paying for support
when they drag it to 3-4 weeks for a response or a solution. I needed to work
and I'm a network engineer myself. I immediately pulled it out of my network rack
and put my trusty ubiquiti unifi controller and ap's. sorry, netgear your $1500
ap is highway robbery honestly and your orbi app is terrible with no fix even with
10-15 reboots. Not sure if its the security armor or the cloud anywhere access is
causing the problems. I'm giving up on this $1500 paper weight for now.
but ubiquiti is trash too though, just less smelly trash
It would have been nice if they would have added more than one 2.5Gb Wired Backhaul connection. They only sell this Mesh System as a 3 pack right now (Router + 2 Satellites) so why not have two 2.5Gb Wired backhauls one for each satellite? Seems like a slight miss here.....I'm assuming the other 3 ports are just Gigabit Ethernet Ports. Since most of my devices are wired other than Cell phones, ipads, IOT Devices, etc... it would have been good to see both wired backhaul connections as 2.5Gb......Another question is what are the specs for the Guest network? Does it support 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz as well? The rest of the specs looks good. Can't wait to get this installed. I pre-ordered the black model and I will test it out as soon as I get it.....
I agree if they added another 2.5gb I than can connect a multi gig switch and also connect the system wired backhaul
why is there not a 10GB Ethernet port for sharing to another device and only for the main input?
Any comment on why the dedicated backhaul is using 5 GHz instead of 6 GHz? Is it a compromise to balance between speed and range?
Good pickup I would have thought that the backhaul would be 6E, but if it is only 6 (5Ghz) then this mesh really has no substantial improvement to the 853 AX6000 series. Any 6E gains will be lost by the wireless backhaul!? The RAM and processor are the same. This makes the 853 seem like a better choice as the 6E improves only on more antennas, more wifi networks for your IOT and 2.5 Gbps Ethernet , not sure this is worth the upgrade. Higher frequencies don’t penetrate as well and have shorter range so I think it likely is a performance issue
@@TheChanClanLife The reason they use 5GHZ for backhaul is specifically because it can travel further and penetrate more then the 6E 6GHZ bandwidth, which to me sounds like it's a total waste of time as you'll only benefit from 6E when in the same room as the router or satellite. Which kinda defeats the entire purpose of WiFi... personally I'd stick with WiFi 6 for the moment and wait for 6E to mature a lot, these new quad band routers are massively expensive.
Backhaul via WiFi is a workaround, nothing else. When you built your house and forgot about wires or if your house is old enough. The only reliable way to have good internet speeds over WiFi is to use a wired connection between satellites. The only frequency that gives a more or less reliable backhaul connection is 2.4Ghz (unless your house is built from paper). 5Ghz suffers even when there's a wooden door between the router and satellites, not even mentioning concrete walls. 6Ghz should be even more sensitive so it simply doesn't make any sense. The only use case is connecting end clients using 6Ghz and only when they are in direct visibility.
Just to conclude - this 6Ghz band is just a waste of money, no clients that can use it, no way to use it as a backhaul. Why is it for then? Marketing. And I am surprised that satellites that can handle 3-5Gbps connections have only 2.5Gbps Ethernet for a wired connection. Another mystery.
UPD. Asus ZenWifi ET8 uses 6Ghz for backhaul. Curious to see how well it performs.

If you have a 1 gig connection to the house if you pay for the VPN service will it allow for full speeds.
So I can stop paying for xfinity or do I still need there signal or does this come with its own wifi signal

1 question:
Can one satellite become a relay and let the other satellite doing backhaul through the relay satellite?
I’m asking is because my home is a long linear layout and router has to be located on one end.
So if the placement like router-satellite-satellite can work, it would be great for my home.
It has dedicated wireless backhaul for communication in between the router and satellites.
@@Mashruz no doubt for backhaul communication between satellite and the router directly, and my question is if 1 satellite can become part of the backhaul for the other satellite.
@@WK-wt6xy I don't think so. More importantly why would you even need that option? That's just complete waste of a satellite.
@@Mashruz my situation is the my house’s layout is long L shape, and the router has to be at one end on the house. So I need something in the middle acting like a replay to propagate the signals to the other side of the L.
So far, without touching the infrastructure, the only working solution I discovered is the one using power line to deliver data to the other side the the house, and an AP can transfer it to Wifi signal there.
If the router can go to the elbow part of my house, a star topology can definitely work. However, this is not the case.

Sounds amazing. Quick question… will the Intranet home Wi-Fi network stay up and running should the ISP go down? Will I be able to communicate with anything in my home and devices in the home communicate with each other even if the internet ISP goes down?
Yes, you should be able to do that, so things like controlling smart lights from your phone screen should still be possible. However, using Siri, you may be told “to do that, you’ll need to be online” as many Siri functions, even for smart home control, are still cloud-dependent.
Can satellites from the RBK 852 series be still used as wireless satellites with the RBKE 963 system?
That depends on the compatibility.... Let's wait and watch... But they can be used as extenders and not sure whether they could be used as satellites

When will this be available in Europe?
My $1500 proper network setup with routers and switches let me have 10G wired connectivity, network segregation with VLAN configuration for security, flawless wifi with full end to end monitoring and control. I'm also gonna have lifetime firmware updates for as long as my hardware keeps going.
Thank you Netgear, your wonderful product line up of RAX10, RAX11, RAX12, RAX13........RAX1000000.... with non-working feature sets, plenty of pretty pictures, wonderful use of buzzwords, sexy packaging, garbage technical support and < 12 months of usable life is helping to add to the global pollution in landfills and oceans. It's nice to see how you've managed to cater networking to the generation with shortest attention span yet.

Yeah I'll wait 2-3 years for an affordable 6E option to come out...
By that time Wi-Fi 7 will be on the horizon.
So an iPhone 13 Pro can’t even access the 6 side of the router along with say a PS5 so this will just clog down the 5 side of this setup

There is NO USB PORT, if you need usb port for sharing and this is not for you.

It's not even available until Nov 19th but it's already on Amazon for anyone stupid enough to pay $1500 for this.
I would suggest (it might take a little work. 2-3hrs) but way cheaper, is something like the Ubiquiti Dream machine pro, with a single or pair of their Access points...I bought one that's long range and it covers my entire home and then some for about 530$ and I have do many entry level networking with it. I'm not a network guru, but understand some things here and there. 1500 is way way too much. Maybe 700$ but even so with a little manual work you can get something just as good if not better.

These devices ARE NOT TRUE MESH. Why???. Cause other satellites need to be close to main base. Cost for them are way much more expensive. Eero has TRUE MESH. With tri- band . With WiFi 6 and WPA3. EERO can jump from EERO to EERO in a row. Eero can be put in bridge mode or router mode. Cost is half. Also devices are way much smaller and not a eye sore.

Ubiquiti is a bargain compared to this.
What is the actual point of getting in 10Gb/s in main router while it can only give 2.5Gb/s to other mesh routers through ethernet backhaul? Such a bs design. The max 4x4 speed on 6GHz is 4800Mbps. That 10Gb/s could be shared over 2.4GHz which is 4x4 1200Mbps, 5GHz 2x2 which is 2400Mbps(other 5GHz 2x2 2400Mbps is used for wireless backhaul), 6GHz 4x4 which is 4800Mbps total of 12 antennas. But, 2.5Gb/s out on main router makes 10Gb/s useless until everyone connects to main router wired or wirelessly which is shared but out of that all other mesh system is throttled to 2.5Gb/s speed.
Stay away from Netgear if you have Comcast/Xfinity! Days wasted on the phone! three different Netgear WiFi gateways, including orbi, will not stay connected and EX7000 extender doesn't work with Comcast gateway.
This is a shit device with poor software and networking features. If are looking to do anything more than internet access this isnt the device. The static routing on this device does not work.
Not even convinced it will cover my ,3,000 sq.ft apartment and its walls. For this lunatic price, I only wished this presentation would have been more than fluff and utter B.S. Not ready to jump in , I guess.

Asus still is better with lifetime vpn, parental controls, firewall, and virus protection. Slightly slower, but not by much. If netgear provided armor lifetime and better us base support I'd consider. Otherwise netgear is still not the best in my book on a consumer level.
