I still remember the first time riding the skytrain back in 86 as a young kid. It's amazing how the old trains are still in service today.
That’s vary cool this is now in Vancouver city
Fast forward to 9 years now in 2024, the old trains have been mostly replaced with stupid newer ones
It's truly incredible to see how much Downtown and especially False creek has changed in the past 50-60 years. Even within the time of some of these comments, dozens of newer buildings are popping up.
The narration of all BC project films like Coquihalla: 20 months over the mountains and the Northeast Coal Project all share the same narrator.
Interestingly the trains shown in these early SkyTrain videos "BC 1" and "BC 2" never got used in the final system. They were incompatible somehow with some kind of change made for the final version. I wonder what ever happened to them?
i didn’t know that! if you could share more info about that i’d really appreciate it
Excellent video.
oh this was the start of skytrain
The 2 disslikes are from the companies that make LRT.
Fantastic; thank you!
0:25 . Mr. Bennett sounds like Donald Trump in my perspective.
the difference being trump is a complete retard who never gets anything done and bill bennett was pretty decent.
Thats where the similarities begin and end. Bill Bennett created all kinds of great things while Trump did almost nothing but complain
1:55 What if the line to Coquitlam started from New Westminster? What if the Millennium Line was never built?
and seabuses
I ride that train of Mark 1 new one to made in 1984 to 2019 31 years ago and new mark 1 made in 2015
Mark 1's have been referbished. But you would not have rode a "new" one past 1995 when the Mark 2's came out.
It's Interesting that the Evergreen Line was planned back in 1984.
It's actually more like the Columbia to Braid section
Pretty much every building project the BC NDP or liberal govt did since 1991 is an idea the SoCreds actually came up with but just didnt have a chance to implement and every project the liberals or NDP implement that was their own idea ends up being a failure (fast ferries, new port mann bridge for example)
Not evergreen, Millennium line...took almost 20 years to complete lol
Wow. NDP helps the economy. Chicago Business school sucks.
Still wasn't built near my house. In Coquitlam
Sounds like socialism to me!
And look how Vancouver benefited.
doo dooo DOOOO! The next station is, Gateway.
DreadlockDrummer duh duh THIS IS AN EXPO LINE TRAIN TO KING GEORGE
Oh god! Gateway!??! Whalley!!
DreadlockDrummer this train is to water front terminial station for seabus expo and millennium line
I remember going on bc 1 and 2 2 I still miss the early one 😔
@@Telus-ballwait you got to ride on the prototypes?
