Hardware vs. DAW Mixing Part 1 | Producing the Same Track Two Ways (Using Atmospheric Drum and Bass)

So I've been working on this atmospheric Drum & Bass track and I've been making it on the Novation Circuit Rhythm. I was planning to stem everything out of the Novation and into my DAW so I could give it a proper mix down. Then I thought, why not document the process so we can compare the final results?
In this Part 1 video, I simply introduce the idea and then demonstrate the results I get by recording a stereo pair straight out of the Circuit Rhythm. Next time in Part 2 I will discuss some of the processing I did to the stemmed tracks and then we'll compare the two mixes. Will the DAW version be better? One would hope but sometimes something gets lost along the journey and sometimes a simple recording straight out of the hardware captures a more authentic feeling and vibe. You be the judge.

P.S. I think the Circuit Rhythm is a seriously underrated little sampler. I think I'll likely do a comparison video between it and the EP-133 (and maybe one other) as they are comparably priced.

Me too. Right now I'm just trying to rebuild the arrangement in the DAW and it's taking so long. Ugh, like filling out a spreadsheet. LOL
