I think this would have legitimately been a hit song in the 1940s.
If he replaced the modern gangster slang with stuff more suited to the 40s and mobsters, I agree.

Who said that? The last time I heard someone say AI wasn't going to take off was in the late 70s when I was talking to an elderly woman at the book store who thought it was some communist plot haha. It's been common knowledge for decades that AI was going to boom one day, it was just a matter of when.

My great aunt is a huge Sinatra fan. As a prank we had her listen to this, and she began freaking out why she never heard this song before. It took my cousins and I a while to explain to her that it’s not really Sinatra. Whether she got the message or not, she plays this song regularly while she’s cooking and it’s awesome to hear her sing along to it.

It never really caught on until Coolio remade the song in the 1990s
they wanted to send him to slip and fall school over it.
My grandma told me when this was first aired in 1946 Frank got a lot of backlash for including the word 'gangsta' but every kid wanted to sing like him after this song.

The original cover was made by Postmodern Jukebox (look it up). The voice simply has been changed. It's not like AI made all that.
A.i like this needs a vocal reference to guide the selected vocal thru. The computer is just executing instructions given to it by the human programmer.
