I have bought and read pretty much everything Stephen King wrote and published. He is at a level of his own, the best story-teller of our time. Thank you sir, your books are amazing !
Yeah, that's the thing. He gets so much credit for horror and I think that's really because of the movies, but really, he is just such a prolific writer. Calling him a horror writer is a travesty.
Mr King you have given me so many wonderful gifts and memories that i will always love. The first book i read was carie i took it from my mothers book case when i was in elementry school and i had to look up many of the words, but you had me, i was hooked im an addict, and books are my drug. Not just yours but any good book. The Stand is my fave i have read it 9x every time I re-read it it is like visiting old frinds. Thank you Mr King
Stephen kings doctor sleep was fantastic piece of fiction. He should also collaborate with joe hill (his son) too. They are a both excellent together! If only they could do book tours over in the UK. :(
god... I juyst love him cuz he's given me the chance to have that happy place... book, I can go there and forget about everythng.. yeah sir thank you you have no idea how important your books are for me.
March 22, 2021 the future is talking: You are so interesting. You know so much. I never met a guy as motivated as you. I never met a guy that makes me happy as you. I like you for you. I cannot wait to see you in your next video. You make me laugh during my worst nightmares but you make me feel you are very vulnerable.
He's a great essayist too, WHY I CHOOSE BATMAN, as a Batman fan it was the best essay about the Dark Knight I ever read, Mr. King writes what people think but remain unrealized even to themselves at times; Salem's Lot was my favorite, best contemporary vampire story ever, scary as hell (as opposed to romantic/erotic or philosophical); wish he'd write more vampire and werewolf stories though, compared to his often H.P. Lovecraft themes.
My top 5 authors Stephen king Agatha christie James ellroy Truman capote Henning Mankell Robert harris Samuel beckett Patrick suskind Lee child Peter hoeg
He calls them The Tribe here....but in the novel they were eventually called the True Knot. I noticed a few changes he made while reading cuz like he said he was not done yet. I loved the book. Rose the Hat was a great villain. I also loved Dan and Abra's bond....the supporting characters were great too like Billy and Doctor John
Completely agree. I saw another interview with him where, during the Q&A session, someone commented on how much care and attention he gives to the supporting characters, and for my money, Doctor Sleep is the best example of that. It's an amazing book.
"...Randall Flagg in 'The Stand'..." Huh...well that doesn't sound righ-ooh....OOOOH!!! WOAH SHIT!! I really need to catch up on my Stephen King, that guy is a genius!
I just realized that when he said he wanted to create a world where all the monsters come together including the monsters from Godzilla; that means that God in Stephen King's universe, "the Turtle", is fuckin' Gamera.
Stephen Morrow We're just going to have to disagree on this... but I will say that because of King, I read Lovecraft; because of Heinlein, I read Bradbury; and who the hell is Conrad? Surely not Joseph?
Are you trying to scare people off here and not just in the mood\ks you write?? you are tooo funny!!! and you make a goo point, and I always check everything, the house door is locked alway and I don't drive so don't care much about the car, maybe I should, shouldn't I?:) your stories, movies scare me a lot, so I guess yo are doing a great job!!!!!!!!!!! Angela
I am speechless. I saw E Musk RUclips. Steve Jobs RUclips. Buddha's wisdom on RUclips regarding a gift. It left me speechless. I was sure that half a fruit as a gift because it contained seeds in barren grounds was the best gift of all. I was wrong. I am speechless since I heard that eating more salt was going to stretch my life. Here I was thinking for a split of a second - that sea-saw moderation. I was wrong. I am speechless.
Why only write horror and gore? King writes science fiction and non fiction too. He wrote a popular article about his son's little league baseball team. He endorses Harry Potter and westerns. He tells people to read everything, because it all helps you to become a better writer.
Honestly guys, tuat thing about i dont write notes about ideas because if its a good one, y0ull remember it is AWFUL advice. always note everything down, seriously. some things you think of have too many parts to remember., and you might remember the outlines, ut you might have forgotten a really cool addition etc.
I have no idea what you're referring to... But the guy has made over 60 books that are very different. You have to have a credit card to buy tickets on-line, and I hate credit cards and will never have one. You can buy them at the store for cash, but I live 70 miles away from Wichita (in Pratt, remember "The Stand"?) and I don't have a car either. I'd already bribed someone I know to give me a ride on 11/14, but he won't take me twice! He wanted $50 to take me just the one time! I'm almost suicidal now... I sure wish someone could tell me what to do??
They only lit the podium (primarily behind it) properly for camera. Everytime he walked into the dark camera ops had to boost the gain. It was fine for the audience, but cameras are rarely considered for these types of events.
I don't mean to offend, and I'm also a Stephen King fan, since the beginning, when most of us read the back cover to know more about the author. Why do we overexpose everything? Can't we just enjoy the works of an artist without going overboard delving into every aspect of their lives. I don't want to know Stephen King this well. I just liked his books and occasional moves when well done from his books.
Smart, prolific and one of the greatest storytellers of our time.
One of the most imaginative writers ever..
Love his work, it's wild, crazy, funny, scary and all wrapped up in a perfect ball of imagination.
Fire starter and The Gunslinger epic were my favourite King books.
I started writing and reading because of him
Thanks Steve; still teaching creative writing because of you.
He's my biggest influence, grateful for encountering such a comprehensive man.
I'm reading because of him
Me too
"64! I'm in a fucking Beatles song!!!" xDD
what does he mean by that
+Mike Tice There's a song by the Beatles called "When I'm 64"
I love the guys worth absolute millions....wearing a $10 t-shirt. He's real.
I have bought and read pretty much everything Stephen King wrote and published. He is at a level of his own, the best story-teller of our time. Thank you sir, your books are amazing !

I love how he doesn't give a shit about acclaim, he just accepts the award like it's no big deal. That's a real writer.
Immer noch einer der besten seines Genere !!! Sehr sympatischer Mensch ! Weiter so !
"Swag!"
- Stephen King
I swear to God, if he ever says YOLO out loud, I might ask him to adopt me.
I read Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde when i was seven or eight.
He has a calm, soothing voice. I wish he made an audiobook of his own.
95dank I just found an audiobook of "bag of bones" by him.
He recorded on writing which is pretty much sacred
He’s recorded several of his own books and they are available on audible
I just started listening to desperation and I was like, I know this voice and after like three hours, I had to check it out.
He reads bag of bones on audible

I want to know more about the tribe! Can't wait for Dr. Sleep.
Thanks for posting - helping me :)

No problem. He did read some of his audiobooks. Desperation or Needful Things for example.

They made him jump through all those hoops before they gave him the award?!
"Books, the most potent weapon against assholes" Stephan King

My favorite writer
I'm surprised a New Englander would be saying parked your car instead of pahked yer cah
I LOVE this guy! :-)
Apparently, I write like this guy.
good for you!
I think saying clowns scare every child is a bit silly because I love clowns and I know lots of people that love clowns.
its like in doctor sleep , when children are small clowns scare the living shit out of you and when they'r older they just don't give a s@#t
Surprised he didn't mention Henry from IT around 50:00
When did Obama EVER look for consensus? He has always said, "I was elected; therefore, I get my way."
If the world was built on consensus, we'd still be using the wooden wheel.
Don't worry, Steve, the Simpsons did everything first.
Best writer ever!!!
Books: The most potent weapons against the assholes of the world.
pure genius
I just realized that when he said he wanted to create a world where all the monsters come together including the monsters from Godzilla;

My house is always locked but I check the shower before I go to bed every night, anyway.

Why only write horror and gore? King writes science fiction and non fiction too. He wrote a popular article about his son's little league baseball team. He endorses Harry Potter and westerns. He tells people to read everything, because it all helps you to become a better writer.

Are you really Stephen King?? :D
It is so annoying when people clap and shout at every single book title.
No, it's not. It's just a way to show their appreciation to his work.
Well, you already wrote this. I think it was called Sleepwalkers. Just that there were cats, not dogs.
Think of something new!
I have no idea what you're referring to... But the guy has made over 60 books that are very different.

Ryan Z Neither. But you'll never hear from me again after tonight.

I ACTUALLY FEEL OFFENDED BY THIS KIND OF MESSAGE
is this a stand up act or is he serious ?
Why is this so poorly fuckin lit?!
