Ive been in a similar situation and I tried to fix the situation before I showed the evidence. Think in the ep its more of a shock and panic thing and after she sent the 2nd pic the girlfriend would probably ask why didnt you tell me after she sent the first one?
I agree, many of the jokes in this show are somewhat contrived for comedic purpose. That's normal for comedy. But this episode just felt far fetched, and frustrating to watch at times.

Every single episode of this show can be solved by the character with a problem being honest yet for some reason people criticize this episode for Adam not just blocking the sister or telling Emma. I'm not sure why people haven't realized until season 3 that the entire sitcom concept is the characters never do the obvious logical thing that would get them out of the situation.
Why would you recommend a mediocre sitcom about an unhappy, dysfunctional family? The parents are horribly unhappy & complain incessantly in every episode.
Came here to suggest this too. The kids are fed instructions but their dialogue is improvised so the adults (who have a script) never know exactly what they’re going to say. Obviously you can’t please everyone but it is very funny and the little girl who plays Karen totally steals the show. You might need to wait until there are a couple more little boomers running around to fully appreciate it.

Basically it follows marcus, played by tom, his best friend stylax and marcus’ slave grumio, who live in rome just trying to live and make their lives better. It’s actually quite a fun watch, I certainly enjoyed it
As you said he should have fessed up, but that doesn't make for great comedy. The warped minds of this family are just brilliant. At the end, Johnny could have explained all to the girl and possible saved the relationship for his brother, but he just couldn't do it - they love each other but the competitiveness between them seems to ride above all else. Instead of doing the right thing, he just twisted the knife further with his comment about Adam liking tits.
