A subtly often missed in this story is that the nature of each cyborg is the result of their thought at the moment of the original's death - not just the former human personalities. One of them was in despair due to mortality, and was desperately wishing for life to be preserved. The other was experiencing a moment of utter nihilism and thinking that human life had no value. The aliens recreated each of them based on a scan obtained moments before impact. In other words, since the aliens would have no way of knowing what a "baseline" human mind was like, they based the ENTIRE psychology of the cybernetic copies around the primary thoughts running through the victims minds at the moment of death. Each cyborg flawlessly encapsulated the last ideas being considered, and the last feelings felt, by each human.
Damn I nearly cried for that old man when his family rejected him. I know that feeling when no one acknowledges you but you still try your best for them cause you still love them regardless if they care about you (also I mainly thinking of family members and close friends not significant others, which if that’s the case it’s better to just break it off). Also that crazy teenager feels like someone anyone can become given the power. I know I’ve dwelled on to some dark fantasies and I’ve even pointed finger guns at certain individuals throughout my life. Honestly this feels like certain fantasies people probably have every day of helping others or just wanting the worst for others.
It's just how most killers and drugs abusers are. They are looking for something they'll never find. Most of them wanna feel alive, and something. That's why don't judge people by what they've done. Agreed. Usually, in anime, the villains just do some comical and over the top things like destroying village or some shit like that but this scene is something else, it feel real and personal. It likes a scene from a serial killer film.
Episode 7 is better. Hiro's mum made him realize that he's screwed up, and then he tries to be good. But it's not to be. He gets a second chance. With Shion he tries to fix things, but it gets screwed up again through no fault of theirs. To understand him, we have to view his psychopathy as a disability. A character defect, he eventually tries to consciously correct for. An undeveloped power of empathy means unlike the rest of us, he does not automatically immediately understand what he should and shouldn't do.
@@danielch6662 It's too late for that family to have any understanding for his disability, though. I think the message here is to be thankful whenever a psychopath doesn't get such powers. The grandpa character symbolizes the opposite of what is young and handsome, a person who is perceived as old, corny, and boring, who is not liked or cared for, without any particular reason for this to be the case, other than for him being a balanced human being with a rich emotional spectrum, who is utterly depressed in such a world, and I think we can all easily identify with this.

Inuyashiki, an anime that was philosophical and slightly religious in its nature. Among the masses of entertainment pushing the scourge of relativism and nihilism, here comes an anime, from Japan no less, that strongly pushes back against that and argues for a bedrock of morality, meaning, and purpose in the transcendent reality of God. Gosh, what a delight.
Interesting, the concept is similar to the found footage movie Chronicle, with the anime not having a neutral third superpowered character (which to be fair didn't really that matter much in the movie), but with an interesting age gap between the antagoinst and protagonist.

This is an amazing anime, funny, emotional, feel good and far from ur usual 11y 15y main character.
The batte scenes epic. And the druken Alien funny!
I love Inyuyashiki man. Great anime
There is actually a live action movie of this. It seems it follows this anime with little to no changes. I saw it on movie recaps.
I saw it too
The difference is that the live action has a good ending
yeaaaahhhh
@@bromomento5913 Just guessing: That dog definitely dies
@@bromomento5913 It had the ending I wish the anime had.
Buuuut, I think the anime's decision to make it bittersweet is much more brilliant in a way.
It says alot about how we sometimes treat our old folks, and take them for granted. We go through tough times but there at an age where they just want to be heard and appreciated, we may think they're boring or something like that, and I know this is different for everyone, but that's what I think, especially with today's generation. Good anime though, I didn't expect elder protagonist!
I watched this many years ago when it was still new. I'm happy to hear more people are watching it. It was pretty good.
Legit one minute in and decided I NEED to watch this anime. Solid presentation!!
great content saved me time. liked it
I don't even like anime or watch regularly, not sure how showed up in algorithm but this was a decent story and plot, seemed to have stood out, and was quite wholesome/relatable
The aliens be like
Alien #1 "Aaaagh...ooookay. who's not dead?"
#2 "I'm good."
#3 "Me too"
#1 "Good. Now new plan. No more drinking while piloting the space shi_OH DEAR FUCK!!!!"
#2 "w-w-whats wrong?!"
#1 " we Crushed 2 other life forms in the crash!!!"
#2 "We did WHAAAAAT?!?!"
#3 "OOOOOOh shit."
#2 "what do we do?! The space police is gonna have our Heads on a stick for this!!!"
#3 "Can't we just...Fly away before anyone notices?!"
#1 "Are you stupid?! If we don't fix this we'll be in trouble for not just crushing two unknown life forms, but also Piloting out ship WHILE DRUNK!!!!"
#2 "FUCK!!! What do we do?!?!"
#3 "Okay okay Everyone chill the space-hell out!!! We need to think about this calmly!"
#1 "...You know what? Fuck it. Get the pods ready! We'll fix em back up real quick and then fly out of here before anyone notices."
#2 "what?!?"
#3 "are you insane?! These are WEAPONIZING PODS!!! It'll make them literal killing machines out of no where!!!"
#1 "WHAT OTHER CHOICE DO WE HAVE?!?! You get the pods ready, Me and him will drag them inside....and their rest."
#2 "....Your a lunatic man. A lunatic!"
#1 "The rest of their BODY!! I meant the of these twos body dumbass!!! There's like some of the old ones organs All over there!!"
#2 "oh! Oh thank god_"
#1 "MOVE IT ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!"
yup. Drunk driving Aliens fits well XD
Lmao
Lol
The sequel lol
Yeah. You actually get to see them in the manga. They are very small by comparison and are like 5in tall.
M8, you better write this on your resumes. Because this is a fking masterpiece
1:53 "And he has developed a substantial T H I R S T"
Your sincere concern about the dog earned you a like
Paused the video at 4:00 and decided to watch it. Just binged the whole thing. The tears won't stop.
Love the mix between 3d and 2d in this anime. Haven't got to watch the anime yet, but this video has convinced me I should.
I remember watching this video a year or so ago, felt like it was pretty underrated. So happy to see it suddenly getting some recognition 😭❤️
5:30 dude I fucking nearly cried at this. The look in the father's face knowing that he and his son is going to die. And he can't do anything about it.. bro just wanted a family he was innocent man :( why did he have to die along with his son like what the hell
I like the alians where just like “ay bro I think we hit somthing” “oh hell naw we gotta replace its insides” “we only have wepons tho-“ “I SAID REPLACE

Are you kidding!? That box isn't empty, it's full of dog!
I need to watch this. Amazing concept and gives strong "death note" vibes with a dash of wholesomeness on the side.
3:18 : Me after losing an argument
i love how you said hanako is still alive. that was really important to hear
Big thanks to animation recap for putting me into this movie/manga.
Used the Libby app to burn through the manga, then found the movie and series cheap on eBay. Looking forward to checking it out.
So original and inventive, I love it.
Bro this anime make me cry every single time because of Ichiro, I just wan't to give that old man a hug
This anime and manga made me feel some of the saddest I've ever felt.
This anime is really good in my opinion, maybe it has a silly idea of a story but it's actually quite inspiring
dude this video has only been out for a hour and i already want pt 2
never have i been this early, great job on describing everything! i might gotta subscribe
Shishigami keeps that thing on him 😂🤣😂 idk why but just how dry you sounded saying that made it 10 times funnier
I'm glad i found this video. Ichiro IS THE MAN!!
The auto self defense mech definately know the meaning of "there are fates far worse tgan death"
‘They collectively agree that that’s not their problem”
Based aliens
1:25 THANK GOD I thought it was going to die. The sight of relief!
This is my first recap episode I've watched from this channel. I'm impressed. SUBSCRIBED
I like how tje UFO didn't come from the sky but slipped through a random spot in space, just like actual reports state
I love this show and I wish it was a little longer.
Name?

Yeah. The manga is actually pretty short in its run time as well.
Interesting, the concept is similar to the found footage movie Chronicle, with the anime not having a neutral third superpowered character (which to be fair didn't really that matter much in the movie), but with an interesting age gap between the antagoinst and protagonist.
"like a real man, he only knows how to use his fists"
LOL 10/10 writing
Definitely gotta watch this. Love how they gave praise to Gantz too in the one backround while healin the kids finger.
Inuyashiki was made by the same mangaka who made Gantz ^^
This man is one of the kindest characters in fiction
The title is literally the BEST way to describe this anime. Like to agree
One of my favorite anime, i rarely like robotic stuff but this shit just hit you on your soft spots i teared twice on this anime
get your testosterone levels checked then...
3:45
"Congratulations, you are now officially a *superhero."*
Love how right off the bat it went from a 1 to 100 with feels.
I saw the live action version of this on a recap channel a few months ago, I'm glad I'm seeing the animated version
Bro this is actually fire wasn’t expecting this
i remember seeing this 3 yrs ago. one of the best low budget animes
I have already seen the live action ver. Of this but this is Dope
Is no one gonna question the 70 year old marrying a 40 year old THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR TELLING ME THAT THE DOG IS FINE
Why would you question 2 grown ass old people in love???
