THIS IS BEAUTIFUL! I will follow this step by step for Sophie! She has such a giant crate ugh lol and I always thought of having wheels since it's such a heavy crate!
Excellent! I would modify the design a bit to make taking out the crate easier just in case. What kind of tools do you use? I have tons of materials after last kitchen makeover but I don't own any workshop not tools. I guess it's too expensive if I do this for my personal use only. Mounting wheels to the base is brilliant! Does it move while your dog enters or leaves the crate?
No, I am sorry, but I just kind of make things by the seat of my pants. Hopefully I can learn use an online program to create detailed plans in the near future!
I do not have official plans. Dog crates come in a variety of sizes. I added 3" to each dimension to account for the 1x2 that I used for the stiles. You can read more about this project on my a blog. The post does not give step by step instructions, but the photos give a pretty good indication on how I assembled the cabinet. Thank you so much! No, not at this time. I am between homes and do not have a proper shop setup to effectively create products for sale. Hopefully, I can start up a small woodworking business within the year!
Briélynn Wolfsbane It was more expensive than I would like to admit! Mainly because I used one of the big box stores appearance boards. I probably spent over $150 just for the wood! I would have saved a ton of money had I used a table saw to rip down boards to the dimensions that I needed! For example, I could have made my own 1”x 2” using a 2” x 6”. It is one of my first builds that I did on my own without a ton of tools, so it was worth it to me!
You are right. Plans and exact measurements would be nice. I am new in the woodworking journey. I made this for an idea in my head and documented the process as a went. I used the actual dog crate itself to determine my cuts. I would say that you want to add 1/2” clearance on each side. The top is more flexible. I made the height an 1” higher than the actual dog crate that I have.

Be sure to get locking wheels if your dog doesn’t just lay quietly in his crate!
Beautiful design and well done!
Thank you! This was one of my first original builds that I made!

What type of wood did you use?
Fantastic idea! I was just looking at a bunch of end table dog crates online & the complaints said they all fell apart.
Michael Bartholomew Thank you! I especially like it because I can still use the crate for trips without having to take the crate frame with me!
looks great do you have step by step instructions?

Nice show but not very informative. Do you add anything to measurement? Seems like using exact measurement would make tight fit. Great job!
