    Great vid thanks. Re the screws; Canadians have been using a square Robertson for 40 years. Best screwdriver head in existence. never ever slips - rarely anyway. It’s too bad the United States never adopted it, and still suffer with Philips 😖. Sounds like you found a workaround with a new bit. I May have to venture out and try it!!!

      Robertson are available everywhere in the US and were in common use for a long period as a replacement for Phillips. But they strip out almost as easily as Phillips and now have been replaced by star drive by almost every manufacturer of construction screws.

  • @durangodave
    @durangodave Год назад

    might be nice to add and end cross brace on the other end and one on top to also help support the angle supports from sliding n may just last longer. 😀 do you still use this stand, how is it holding up?

    Love your videos man. They're instructive and hilarious at the same time.
    What angle did you set the upright that the engine sits on? Looks like it's at 90 degrees. Only asking because I saw some plans that recommended tilting the upright to 8-12 degrees to mimick the transom angle.
    And are the diagonal supports at 45?
    Nice work and nice undies.

    • @HouseMadeUS
      @HouseMadeUS  4 года назад +7

      Hey Chris, I don’t exactly know the angle but I did mimic the transom angle. 8-12 degrees sounds right to me. And thanks for the kind words. I have since upgraded my space to air conditioning so I rarely work in my undies any more. The angles of the supports are almost 45, truthfully I just eye balled it. One could say...I went balls out. 😁

    2 questions for ya 1 where did you get that schematic I wanna build one tomorrow. And secondly most importantly what’s your trick to getting it off the transom and onto the stand? I’m guessing chalk the stand wheels put maybe a floor jack on the bottom of motor while a friend helps you pivot it and place it on the stand?

    Nice stand , but would of been much better to use larger wheel (6 inch minimum) you can then lower the height of the wood and it will travel over ground much easier including any ledges/door frames... if having the motor at full tilt then make some outriggers that fold in when not needed..

    • @HouseMadeUS
