- The second part of my journey down the Severn Valley Railway as I continue my exploration of all the old railways in Shropshire. In this second part I travel through the southern section of the line through Arley, Bewdley to Kidderminster.
Let's hope they continue it from Bridgnorth to the Ironbridge.I could see lots of tourists including Americans wanting to travel on it then. The bridge is nationally famous.
i used to visit this line all the time when i was little. i now live in Australia and this brings back fond memories. Thanks for the upload.
+James Perry Thanks James. Nothing like a few childhood memories to make you a little home sick!

Excellent videos on the Severn Valley Railway, i visited this summer and had a remarkable time. these vids pointed out a couple of features that i missed on my trip and i look forward to seeing them on my next visit! Thanks Holden
+Burt Welkerns Thanks for your comment, much appreciated.
After the arch bridge after the trains come out of foley park tunnel there’s a site of the second halt before the viaduct outside Kidderminster and its foley park halt station like rifle halt station it opened in 1905 but the halt survived a lot longer until 1970 twenty years after the halt was opened was foley park sidings and they moved the halt as a result as of today there’s no trace of foley park halt station nor is foley park halt sidings
great commentary from you Shropshire railways
Thanks for the nice comment.
No problem
Arley station was used in the tv comedy "Oh Dr Beeching".The space between the station building, and the signal box had set behind some houses fabricated which you see in the episodes. They look very realistic.
I been to on Peterborough its called the neve valley railway
At the bridge section after passing the West Midlands Safari park Holden there’s a site of rifle halt station it was opened in 1905 but closed exactly 15 years later in 1920 as of today the halt is long gone only the bridge is still here
I'd love to see inside one of those station houses have you been in one?
