I have an iPhone 15 and was not aware this was available. I've just tested it on some Cyrillic text and it's like magic! Thank you for this great piece of advice.
This definitely takes music collecting to a whole new level of involvement! The attachment for the vacuum cleaner is called the "Vinyl Vac" and is readily available. The slit underneath that sucks on the record is sheathed in velvet. I'll perhaps film another session with more of that kind of detail.
I clean my records in a similiar way to you. I use the big house hoover to do the vac part. I wrap a microfiber cloth around the nozzle so no contact between hoover and vinyl. I f you have a steady hand, put the hoover on high power and vac without going anywhere near. Noisy but effective.
A good DIY solution. The attachment I have for my vacuum cleaner sucks through a narrow slit surrounded by soft velvet so no plastic touches the vinyl.
@@Perfectvirgo Many years ago,a friend had the complete Melodiya discography in a book with more pages than a Harry Potter book. It contained over a million recordings. They were all classical and folk music. No jazz or pop music. The Melodiya recordings that were reissued by EMI are worth searching out. On Discogs it seems that eastern european sellers have a lot. I do not always like the inflated postage that they demand.
@@heifetz14 Very interesting. I buy very little rock or pop on vinyl these days as the prices for early pressings are too high and the quality of new pressings is generally very poor. So my current buying habit is classical on vinyl and I have found a couple of German Discogs sellers whose international postage is reasonable and their stocks of Melodiya releases are high. I also have recordings by the former GDR on the Eterna label which are good quality.
This was fun and very interesting and you know what, am pulling out some of my parent’s classical albums this morning, thanks again 🎼
Thanks, no doubt you'll find something of interest to enjoy!
A lot of smartphones have a function of photo translation. This application on first screen of smartphone.

I bought the Spin Cleaner years ago, similar to this process but I like your way, that vacuum is very cool

I have a handful of Ukrainian and Latvian soviet LPs. Some of the folk music is great fun
I learned a lot of new tricks.
I have many Melodiya records. The Russians deserve credit for these good, honest recordings. In fact,I recognise that cover.
I completely agree. I have many more on order!

I was fortunate to have found one soviet LP that was so old that the label is MK instead of Melodya.
@@billdang3953 I think it might be an abbreviation for the name of the label earlier on. Will have to research that one.
