I made this and tried to drive a wall clock movement (designed to use 2 x 1.5V C size batteries) and a tiny motor. Both don't work. The voltage measured is 3.3V but it does not make a device work.
This is slightly misleading as under load, the resistors will have to change to keep a constant voltage. Variable loads whose current changes will not work with this setup. Dropping voltage like this would work with converting a signal from 5V to 3V. Maybe the limitations of this method could have been discussed / conveyed better.
Hi dear friend. You need a constant voltage for this, and it is recommended to use the video circuit below 👉ruclips.net/user/shortsWz0aAgUIrzw?feature=share
10k has more resistance than a 50 ohm, why is it smaller? Should more resistance mean more material aka a bigger resistor? Or is higher the ohm the least resistance??
The size of the resistors is the same. Their size depends on their ability. For a resistor, 1 watt is greater than a 0.5 watt resistor and 0.5 watt is greater than a 0.25 watt resistor. I hope the explanation was useful to you 🙏
You can use several diodes. Each diode causes a voltage drop. Or use a regulator. You can use these two videos: ruclips.net/user/shortsj2grlbbO99I ruclips.net/video/o7yio8FHg3o/видео.html
Hi Nice Video. - if i was to use this method to drop voltage from 5v to 3v for some small fans being powered by a Battery would the battery drain faster due to the resistance of the resistors ??
Hi dear friend . Calculating the resistance requires LED specifications. For example, below the calculation of a 3.3 volt 20 mA LED with a 12 volt power supply : Forward Voltage = 3.3V Forward Current = 20mA = 0.02A R = V / I R = (12V - 3.3V) / 0.02A R = 435 ohms
Regards, good video, would you be so kind as to answer a question, the voltage at 3.3 if I put a 3v pocket radio on it, the voltage would drop or it would remain at 3.3, thanks.
The resistor values are off but this is how you convert 5v analog signals into 3.3v analog for a microcontrollers input. Couple this with a opamp for circuit isolation between the sensor and uC
Este circuito tem correntes muito baixas, por exemplo, até 100 miliamperes. Em correntes mais altas, enfrentaremos uma queda de tensão. É melhor usar o seguinte circuito. ruclips.net/video/o7yio8FHg3o/видео.html
Yes, a capacitor can solve this problem to some extent. I think a 6v 100uf capacitor could be good. In the future, I will put a better version of this circuit in the video
Will it drain the power bank charge quickly?
Was exactly looking for this to convert a 2x AA battery powered device to operate with 5V USB power bank.

It works for converting an 5v USB cable to 3v?
How many amperes do you need in the output of 3 volts?
I can't find 10k resistors on our market and i only have one 10k resistor.... what other alternative resistor can i use?

It is better that you use the circuit in the video below.

i have an output voltage of 4.5v, how do I connect two resistors of 10k and 18k ohms to have 2.8v?

Or use a regulator.

1.5v ke 2 normal cell se muje 5730 ki 1 smd led chalani he to kitne ka resistance lgana pdega bhai..

You can use 0.5 watt 33 ohm or 0.25 watt resistor and the code is SMD 330.

Hello, thank you, I did this, I connected it with a 5-volt mobile charger, but it gets hot, what is the reason!
Hello.. What wattage for 350mah led?

Bro use mobile charger😂😂😂
Fiz conforme seu exemplo e quando ligo os cinco volts, todos os diodos aquecem demais, derretendo as soldas entre os diodos.

In this circuit, we use diode voltage drop. Almost every diode decreases 0.5 volts
Hola! Puede servir como level shifter entre arduino de 5v y un sensor de 3.3v solo para los pines logicos?
Yep.
Yes iam try supar 🎉 5v to 3.3v 👍🏻
👍
I have 3.7v led how to connect 5v usb charger what resistir i put in led
Hi dear friend .
Calculating the resistance requires LED specifications.
For example, below the calculation of a 3.3 volt 20 mA LED with a 12 volt power supply :
Forward Voltage = 3.3V
Forward Current = 20mA = 0.02A
R = V / I
R = (12V - 3.3V) / 0.02A R = 435 ohms
Regards, good video, would you be so kind as to answer a question, the voltage at 3.3 if I put a 3v pocket radio on it, the voltage would drop or it would remain at 3.3, thanks.
hi i follow your method and get 3.3v but when connect to main circuit board it become 1.2v .how to solve?
it's bcoz the ampere is too low.
This is not the way to do this. You should us a voltage regulator like the AMS1117-3.3 or similar.
The resistor values are off but this is how you convert 5v analog signals into 3.3v analog for a microcontrollers input. Couple this with a opamp for circuit isolation between the sensor and uC
Thank you! Great and helpful 👍
un dato a la hora de medir una resistencia no uses tus dedos ya que tu cuerpo también hace de resistencia y la lectura puede variar
Hola querido amigo . Sí, tienes razón y definitivamente seguiré este punto de ahora en adelante.
