What's your favorite item in this video?
The laptop and camera
My favourite item is how prepared you are for any situation,I have also learned to carry extra cables and power extensions as we may never know what can happen
The USB 😂😂😂
The headphones
it's the laptop duuuude 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I have started this whole DJ thing when the pandemic started and unlike a lot of other "passions" that came and went during this isolation period, the DJ'ing stayed with me and it's mostly due to the fact that I stumbled on to your videos and I have learned what I need to get my confidence up and to keep improving. I will never aspire to make any money out of this but I enjoy playing music now more then ever and with your breakdowns of popular techniques my mixes sound a lot better and even my friends noticed my evolution.
It's all thanks to you!
Keep on doing this for as long as it makes you feel good because brother, you have such a positive impact and the output quality is above par!
Man, I have to say, I'm so proud of you for coming so far in your journey Michael! Really glad to have been a part of your journey in some form as well. Keep spinning bro, and keep the music alive!
Awesome video Carlo! Was picking up a A7Siii myself soon :)
Let's go! Quality game up!
Nice setup & the gear.
I enjoy your content and you've helped me get better too.
Way to stay technologically current and getting the best stuff. Best stuff lasts into the future longer than other stuff Lol
I'm on round 2 of gear after I've started in 2019 and I hauled all my DJ gear across 3 states this past summer as a traveling musician. But I've learned a lot from that experience. I got my first gig to play EDM downtown for an hour at a club tryout on April 19th Tuesday night Colorado. Wish me luck Carlos! Love your content.
Good luck bud! Knock 'em out on the 19th!
Thanks for making a video like this. At times, I don’t know what to bring to a gig.
The USB and DJ Cables are my favorite 🏬
They are always a must bring item! Always bring extras!
Awesome tips and very detailed. TY Carlos! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks Danny! Glad you found the video useful!
thank you for sharing! ⭐️
Thank you for watching till the very end! I'll remember you!
I also dig the tiny Hercules mixer and the tablet combo, very versatile. 🌟
Very much! And all of them fit comfortably into the bag!
This gives me a better idea of what equipment I should have besides the obvious items thanks for the information DJ Carlo!
You're welcome Cool Flag! A lot of people have been asking me for my gear, so here it is!
Can you make a video on how to connect entry level controllers to big “party” speakers?
The program there lies in the different kinds of cables used between the controller and the big speakers. I actually don't have the big club speakers in my house, so I might not be able to showcase the whole connection in a video. Really depends on the output of your controller and the input of the speakers.
In most cases, Direct Input Box (DI-Box) will be enough to connect an unbalanced RCA to balanced XLR. If a party isn't so big, you probably just need a 2xRCA-2x6.3 Jack cable
gotta do some research homie
If there is no input on the speakers but the speakers are connected to a receiver, do you connect the controller to the receiver also? If so which input what I plug the controller into?
please
*_Great overview. Was hoping for a behind the scenes approach for a long time already_* ⭐
Apparently, a lot of people have been waiting for something like this! Glad you liked the video bud!
Very nice clean work 👌🏾 big up From Zurich 🇨🇭
Thanks Tando! Glad you like the video man!
Love it as a DJ starting out to doing video it was helpful ⭐
You're welcome Schmitty! Hope the video gives you some insight on what equipment you need!
Hey DJ Carlo, recently found your channel! killer job on all your videos! My fav item in your list has to be the Buyer dynamics headphones! I use the same ones in the studio for mixdowns! I gotta say I would love to see some breakdowns on Redbull Threestyle Djs like Eskei83, or some of the tricks Stickybuds uses in his Shambhala sets! ⭐
I could give that a shot Bryan! Interesting suggestion to breakdown my fellow Threestyle friends haha
@@djcarlo I think the sets you guys build for that competition are absolutely incredible! Ive always wanted to put together a set like that. I was hoping to see some of the prep work that goes into it as I know theres a lot! Thanks for the response! Much love
This was super helpful! I dig the BOSE speaker, but that backpack was it! ✨✨✨
The backpack is beyond amazing! And it's pretty compact!
BEHIND THE SCENES! Nice! Knowing these things while I watch future videos = ⭐️✨✨🌟⭐️✨🌟💫
For sure bud! A lot of people have been asking about the behind the scenes stuff, so here we are!
Thanks so much! ⭐️
Glad you enjoyed the gear video Daniel, and thanks for sticking around till the end!
Thx for the vid!
For sure bud! A lot of people have been asking about my gear, so here we are!
1:09 I just recently bought a MacBook Air M1 (Apple Silicon Chip) 😅
Based on my experience, I tried 1ms buffer on Serato DJ Pro, Virtual DJ & Rekordbox DJ. I had no issues whatsoever, the audio output has no cuts or lags.
Definitely Recommend 👍👍👌👍👍
I've heard amazing things about the M1! Lots of my friends say it doesn't heat up on them.
Ughhhh i'll get those one day. Thnks for this awesome content.
For sure Regi! Get 'em when you need 'em!
🌟 Love the cameras and the bag
Thanks for making it to the end (again!) Bogdan! Those two go well together because the bag really protects the camera.
@@djcarlo indeed, this is a dream come true traveling setup.
production on all your videos is insane ‼️‼️
Thanks man! Takes forever to edit all these videos! Happy you appreciate my hard work!
I enjoyed this video I'm new to djing got a sb3. I'm learning alot thanks
Welcome to the DJ world bud! And that's awesome! Hope you enjoy it!
I really like your videos Carlo!
Thanks Lapeos! I'm really glad you like the videos!
Bose Speaker SoundLink Color II was my favorite item
Thanks for everything you do
It's great isn't it! Appreciate the kind words too Andre!
thank you - you are a great teacher - sweetwater called and I'm finally getting my ddj1000SRT - you've been a huge inspiration - gracias
That's awesome Andy! Congratulations on the 1000!
Thanks for sharing DJ Carlo
For sure Wasisth! Hope you enjoyed the video!
One thing that I really like about your videos is the editing. Also I learned a lot about djing from your videos.
Thanks Jar! I did dedicate a bit of time to really learn the ins and outs of Final Cut Pro, so I'm glad you like the footage!
DJ Mista Cham Checking in from Chesapeake,VA USA ... Like the XMG laptop it has been on my radar ... currently using a 2012 MBP but looking at the Framework laptop as well
Ngl, the 2012 MBP is an absolute workhorse! It was my DJing laptop for the longest time before the XMG came around.
Your videos are really helpful. Greetings from México, bro. 🤟
Gracias Daniel! I like to watch the world learn hehe
Very informative. I liked the Bose Speaker best. ⭐
Thanks Terri! That Bose speaker right there IS lovely admittedly
So glad you mentioned your camera. I just bought a Sony A6600 camera for videography. Also I’m still using the fee trail version of FCPX. I feel you need to do a video on editing with FCPX.
Go for the full one Meza! It's really worth it. On video editing with FXPX, I'd say just have a look around RUclips. That's how I learned, and it's not really my forte per say.
@@djcarlo I will when the trial ends in May.
Hey DJ Carlo this was very helpful I will definetly be buying some of these items since I am getting the DDJ 400 for my birthday on the 30th!
That's awesome Blizzard! And advanced happy birthday!
@@djcarlo Thank you
I really dig the backpack itself, hella pockets. Also, that bose speaker is kinda dope ⭐️
They're both pretty dope! Gotta admit, I love the bass on bose speakers.
Carlo, another DJ trick to spice up a mix. I personally change buildups and sometimes drops.
Love the suggestion! Maybe I'll make a full video on it!
@@djcarlo Two songs that work with this trick is S3RL's Hentai and Aero Chord's Scumbag Remix
You came a long way DJ Carlo and still love your work. Stay safe
Thanks bud! I'm really glad to have come this far! Stay safe too!
Def love the backpack and speaker!
Absolutely Lueder! Those, besides the camera, are my absolute musts when I'm on the go!
The speaker is my fav item that you reviewed ⭐️
It's a really great speaker Mike! Even my dad carries one around hahaha, he liked it that much!
Love your content, it just demonstrates you never need to have the best gear to get the job done. Also, DaVinci Resolve is an amazing free alternative to Final Cut Pro 👍🏽
shabba
Thanks bro! I've heard of DaVinci Resolve actually, but I was so deep into FCP already when I found out about it. Good reco!
I've been after the A7s3 for awhile now, awesome video ⭐️
Thanks for watching till the end Brandon! And yeah, I highly recommend the A7s3. Still really pricey, but I don't think I've got much of any alternatives come to think of it.
ur hitting half a mill subss congrats man
Really close to it! It's gonna be a milestone for the channel, and I'm really excited for it!
definitely make more videos like these
I'll see Roger! A lot of people have been asking about my gear besides the controllers, so we'll see what else I can come up with.
I use sony cameras and tamron lenses too, I however don't use the S line of Sony cameras as my "other" gig is professional photography and 12MP from the A7S3 won't cut it. I don't have any APS-C sensor cameras, but if I did the 17-70mm is the best combination of bang for the buck, performance, and versatility. I think people who are not into photography and want to vlog without thinking about bitrates would love the Sony ZV-1. I have one for b-roll in tight spaces and its great. Thanks for the great videos!
Thanks for the recommendations Brother Baer!
Great vid what app do you use on your iPad
I use Algoriddims DJ app!
Great video. I am considering getting the Bose Bluetooth Speaker , The sale is still on and the price is right! Thanks!
Enjoy the speakers bud!
I looked upon the xmg website recently and i saw that the djm 15 is out of stock and they are planning for an upgrade that's goona be hell amazing.
So I've heard! I've been looking it up lately, and I saw that it's out of stock. Can't wait to see what they've got in store for us!
I like the versatility of that bag ⭐
Thanks for watching till the end! And right?? That's why I use it for all my gigs (and even travels!)
My favourite gear was surely the laptop and the Bluetooth speaker as i use a same kind of budget Bluetooth speaker as my go to product. Really Bluetooth speaker with aux is an amazing choice ⭐🌟.
It's pretty good stuff eh? Gotta admit, the bass pickup on Bose is pretty boss!
@@djcarlo yehh true
is latency really an issue when using bluetooth only speakers like the new jbl flips? is aux input a must?
Go Dj Carlo Go ❤️
Glad you liked the video Rishan!
Fav item is the headphone, the way it looks just tells yous it sound great
It's very comfy too!
DDJ WEGO would best choice for portable dj with real functions ^^ Smaller than laptop
So I've seen! Though I've never personally used one
Thank you❤🙏
Glad you enjoyed the video Biki!
I am learning DJing by your RUclips channel. Thank you❤🙏
Great video! I still get nervous before a gig... every time. (Since 1989)
Some things never change! And honestly, that's how you know you still care about the craft.
My favorite item is the mini dj controller I've been trying to get one for a long time
It's a pretty neat little device!
Can you do a mix of pop songs and EDM songs, love from Mauritius
I've been watching your videos since i got my first controller
Sure! I'll work on something 😉
The Bose speaker and headphone I will look into. 👌
Go for it Rob! You won't be disappointed!
Yeah legit❤️❤️ The bag HAHA
The bag is my absolute favorite! I use it for travelling too
I’ve been wanting to get into content creating and don’t know what’s a good camera to start off and also to afford I’m still just a bedroom dj and I don’t know if i should or shouldn’t make content at my status with shows
Check out the cameras I use in this video! But just use your phone if ever!
We need more content like this
Nice suggestion! What else do you want to see?
@@djcarlo Well I'm 15 years old so a video that would be dedicated to us as upcoming djs some motivation what gear we need how we gather the funds but I will love for you to take that into consideration I just love your content it really helped me with my gig on Saturday to preparation, confidence, mixing everything I am really grateful for your content man!!
I use a $600 HP laptop with i7 - 4.8 GHz top, 16GB ram, and 512GB SSD. I run my audio latency to 1 ms with Serato DJ Pro and DDJ-SB. It is cool. It all works great and fits my backpack.
That's great bud! Good stuff!
You are the best bro I am mixing on my phone on edjingmix i hope i will be like you 1 day ⭐
It's all in the practice Pio!
The bose speaker sounds kinda cool ⭐
ive noticed you've changed the title haha
Dang, you and your eagle eyes hahaha
@@djcarlo Loll!
So close to 500k!
We will get there by the end of the week!!
Well i usually bought one rca cable, two 3,5mm to 6,5mm converter, midi cable, headphone, cable extender, laptop(my laptop is asus x441), mouse, dj controller power adapter, usb hub, flashdrive, tripod, phone charger and power bank, and also my controller denon mc3000(its maybe around 5kg i guess)
Well yeah thats a lot and i usual bought two backpacks, i want to buy a new one with more bigger size so i can put everything i need in just one backpack, i'm plqning on buy some camping backpack so i can feel safe and doesnt think about the knobs broken
Holy moly, I think you needed a bigger backpack for sure bud! That's a LOT of gear hahaha. But better to be safe than sorry!
Peak design backpack is my favourite
That's my all time favorite bag!
Are there any ture wireless earphone that you use ??
And which mic do you use.
And which software Or DAW do you use to edit you audio files.
That's amazing Radoslaw! Congratulations on the gig!
I have been djing for 4 months on a Hercules impulse 200 just wondering what you would recommend for my next controlled like a high end beginner that could be intermediate
Check out my Best DJ Gear video for a fairly comprehensive line up of controllers! I have some reviews as well after that video came out which you might wanna check out, just to help you decide. :)
Thank you for the knowledge ! Miami 305 in that house
You're welcome Ruddy! Glad you learned something from the video.
Is the Bose sound link speaker good enough for a small monitor? Want something portable with no latency
It is! But I'd still recommend something with a cable to really make sure there's no latency
How is the laptop optimized for djing? Like what makes it so great for this one specific thing
It's mostly in the hardware, and how they optimized it to work best with the software.
You can check out the full technical details here: www.xmg.gg/en/xmg-dj-15-red/
As a beginner love it mobile, would u recommend the tiny Hercules one or the DDj200? Would use my phone or tablet with djay algoriddm
I'd say go for the 200 simply because it'll be easier for you to transition to bigger controllers given the layout.
@@djcarlo ur awesome that helps me a lot! Thanks for that fast reply, it means a lot to me!
what is the core you use for to connect the controller and the boss speaker?
It's a random RCA to 3.5mm cord I had at home that I probably got at a local hardware store. I don't know the brand of this one, but it works great, so any cable with those specific ends should be okay!
What would you recommend for a dj that's not familiar with photography or video/photo editing?
Depends how far you wanna go with the editing! You can actually edit on your phone, or even use iMovie or Windows Movie Maker (if that's still a thing? I haven't checked since I was in high school haha). Some of the built in programs of Mac or Windows work well for simple video editing :D
Roland 202 dj Control vs Pioneer DDj 400
which one would you recomend ?
I can't say much for the Roland 202, but definitely the DDJ 400 if you've got the budget! The DJControl Mix is great if you're really just starting out.
What software do u use to analyse your videos like those words/tutorials u input in the video whilst mixing I would I appreciate your response
Dj Gaba (UK)
That's all done in post-editing via Final Cut Pro X! :)
*_Oh sth i forgot to ask:_*
Do u also produce music on that Laptop you bring with you? Is it powerful enough?
Unfortunately, I don't produce music. Edit, yeah, but not produce. From what I know though, the specs are more than enough to handle production duties!
Favorite accessory was the a7siii
It's mine too! Also the most costly one if I recall hahaha
Hey, I've got a dilemma. Im djing a prom coming up next month and they want all super clean music. Can you do a video on this topic?
Clean versions are available on many record pools bud! Check out Zip DJ, BPM Supreme, and Crate Connect; they've got options to download clean versions of the tracks with intros to boot! :D
Wow thats an expensive hobby you've got there🤣🤣 i was very surprised about the bose speaker.
It can get VERY expensive! The camera itself had me skipping out on breakfast (and sometimes lunch) for a while hahaha, but yeah! The Bose Speakers are an absolute must, especially when I just wanna listen to music with proper audio.
I'm Alan. Had to sell all my equipment during the early days of COVID so seeing this video gives me ideas on what to start looking for in my budget currently rocking a numark mix track platinum on a 5th gen iPad. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear that Alan, but I'm glad you still got a Mixtrack Platinum! Hope you get the best of the best man!
What camera would you recommend for beginners that can record at 1080p 60fps?
A6600! All the stuff in the video is what I recommend 🤠
My names alan my favorite items where the boss speaker and dj controller mix ⭐️
Love those too Alan! Thanks for watching till the end!
Cool
Thanks! Which item was your favorite?
@@djcarlo the camera and laptop
Does the Bose speaker have any latency when using it with the RCA to aux on the DDJ-440 u mentioned?
Zero latency if used with the RCA to Aux Cable :)
@@djcarlo I came here to ask the same question. That's definitely on my wish list now.
Thanks for the video I was going to buy the pioneer dj200 today cause I'm starting out but the bloke in the shop was telling me that I need too buy all different leads I thought I only need my tablet or android phone as I only can't
afford apple anything more like pineapple 🍉🍉 for me😢😁 I have a speaker like what you have in video would that be enough cause I also have a soundbar and speaker buletooht ,,thanks for videos cause of them you gave me the bug😎 peace from Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪🙏🇮🇪⭐⭐
If you're looking at a controller that works with tablets/phones, then a bluetooth speaker should be enough for just some home sets! Try canvassing around for other controller models too, you never know what else could tickle your fancy :D
@@djcarlo thanks for ur advice your very kind ,, keep up your great work on ur videos there great ur doing great work 💚🙏🇮🇪
Do studio room tour please!
There's nothing to really see! My studio looks like a warehouse more than anything hahaha
Does Final Cut Pro export video to TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook?
I've haven't tried, but I don't think it can export direct to those sites. I usually render, review, then upload afterwards! :)
review on virtual dj software plzz!!!!!!
Maybe soon bud! I'm still studying it.
djing since 2017... now looking for recording tips and what i find... carlo using a KILLER LAPTOP that cost more than my new gear ahhahahaha, respect for this dude since 2018 learned a lot
In all fairness, many laptops will cost more than the gear. But I'm glad you're learning from the channel Alessio!
@@djcarlo it really helps a lot watching you aswell as Crossfader, found out for this bose you use, ordered one for home use, hope to see you someday in croatia or at a gig :D
Last weeks I've been looking for the XMG DJ 15, but it is seems that it doesn't exist. The only model that appears when you search for it is the Fusion one. Is it available for buying or it's run out of existencies? 🙌🏻✨
I'm actually not sure! I just saw that it doesn't seem to pop up for me either on XMG's official partner store. I'm sure there are still units around, and they've got a line of other great laptops too! Otherwise, MacBook Air is the way to go haha
@@djcarlo Yes, that might be the best option for now haha
Hiiii i have a ddj400 and use rekordbox 6.6.0 but i dont know how to activate the slicer mode can you please help ?
You'll need to remap it to work. :)
What hair gel do you use to style that Rockin hair?!
Man, I don't remember which hair product I used in this shoot, but it should be from a Filipino brand called Bench.
@@djcarlo well it looks like I’m on the next flight to the Philippines!
@@althafrafikalli7687 haha just use any good thick hair wax! Damn your comment made my day!
I liked the laptop ⭐️
It's a pretty great laptop Orsh! They've got a pretty good line up actually on their website.
Oh okay Carlo i will check it out thanks for everything though
I tried using my Bose speaker as a monitor, but there was a delay in the sound, noticeable enough when playing at the same time at my studio monitor.
Guess that's the limitation of Bluetooth for Bose! I don't notice the delay too much, and when I'm on the go, I can't really bring around my studio monitor. Thanks for the feedback though bud! Keep those scratch videos up!
@@djcarlo I was plugged directly into into the speaker. Not a deal breaker, still cool to have, just an observation.
@@soundcentral Really appreciate the observation actually. I like hearing of how different people experience tech in different ways! Gotta agree though, it's still pretty cool to have hahaha
The rca to aux cord so I can DJ without the huge speaker🙏🏾🙏🏾
Always have different cables with you so you're ready for any situation!
everyone know if rekordbox 5 will get the chip M1 native support? And Rekordbox 6 is chip M1 native supported?
Yup! It's supported!
so nice im from germany
That's great! Hope you guys are doing well there! Peace to Germany!
@@djcarlo thanks
Looking for a bag for a ddj400 any recommendations?
Check UDG or Magma, they should have what you need!
@@djcarlo thanks! 👏
Dj carlo im planning to buy macbook on amazon renewed whic one would you suggest for dj is it still worth buying 2015 model macbook pro? Thanks
It should be! Though you can go for the newer models with the M1 chip. You'll just need the proper cables to attach to the Macbook (type C instead of type B)
@@djcarlo thanks dj
