This is good stuff - thanks. Although, how many times did I try using the stop key in the transport bar to pause the video - doh!

Very grateful to see this video, thank you!
I have some questions about microphone placement for the best possible separation for audio to midi conversion but I’ll ask those questions in the previous video.

Very informative. Thank you for this. Got here from the Reaper Forum Think like a drummer thread.
This has been one of the more informative drum programming videos I have watched. I like how you stress to keep the velocities down and you give realistic sounding velocity variables.
My one sticking point to programming are Tom rolls and the velocity curve for them.

It would be great to have another video on fills and tom/snare rolls... most complicated to program right! Cymbal swells, too...

I have a tribal beat that is using kick, snare and toms in the editor.... And it shows all the kick and snare hits... But doesn't show any toms. Am i missing something?

Hey Kenneth! Great tutorial, I was wondering if you have any tips for hi-hat mic-ing to get a better automatic articulations? I wonder if there is a mic placement / style / eq that works best with the algorithm to pick up on the details. Let me know if you've had any success.

Thanks! I've found it works well with micing it fairly close (couple of inches, and roughly halfway between the bell and edge). Eq wise I'd roll off a lot of low end and boost a bit around 3-4 kHz to get more stick definition. Usually the hihat still needs quite a bit of work in the Tracker to get the right articulations though.

@@KennethACrashwaggonMusic Thanks Kenneth, I'll give it a shot!
