So here's the thing. In the play Romeo was constantly flipping between girls he was"in love" with. The entire first act was him drooling and crying over Rosaline and how he would never find anyone he would love more than her, then in the next act he was professing his love to Juliet and then got married. So this song depicts him pretty accurately. A little bonus for the people who read the actual play 😊

Princessofhearts141 It's funny. After I watched this video, I was like awww. Then I saw the 30fps version of the song and I was like, "JUBY WTF", not knowing this was a cover of the mirishira version 😂😂😂 It's a good thing I came back to see these comments to confirm
Kennedyisagamer13 Arthur as I said before this is the "Mirishira version " meaning it's the point of view of the childhood friend "Juliet " who lost Romeo to Cinderella ... What your talking about is the original .... While this is the Mirishira version that was sung by Meiko :)
i showed this song to my friend and the next day my school was having the play Romeo and Juliet and not one of the girls wanted to be Juliet so my friend said she would be Juliet if she gets to sing this song after the play they let her and she made me sing the song with her
No one wanted to be juliet?! Was this like drama club or English class? If it was English class understandable but in the tryouts after school half the girls were trying out for Juliet at my school
And very common to almost all love stories There is always the Childhood friend who is ready to give his/her heart but the both of you are too shy to confess and ended tragically until one of them will just fall to someone else... Because It already happened to me😭
@@radioactiveboi842 yo this is me, and update I'm still SINGLE. I've already given up, I'm gonna be a femboy at this point and just find my own Romeo. Smh
I don't normally do these things, but tonight I thought I'd try my hand at some analysis.... So, the song starts out with our narrator singing/talking/pondering about how she's finally letting go of this person who she says she's had "feelings for" in the past. However, it is implied that she hasn't revealed all of them to her love, by her saying that she's letting her words go free. Then the intro is concluded with the haunting line "I'll let them go, but I just know they never were really mine". I'd like to say that I'm fairly good at interpreting literature, but that line really struck me as odd, and to be honest I've probably spent more time pondering this one section than I have in any other part of the song. After much mental deliberation, I've finally allowed myself to feel as if I've actually figured out what this means in context to our narrator. For the sake of analysis, I'm going to assume she's a young woman. She is finally confessing her feelings for her love after they (or at least he) has moved on. The complex part is understanding the whole "never were really mine" part. What i think she means is that she's finally realized that all the things her "Romeo" has done and said and told her are false and that he was really only playing her and her heart all along. (Ugh, I feel you sister....) Then the backup sings "where art thou Romeo" several times, representing her confusion and inability to understand why the man she loves is acting so heartless all of a sudden. The first four lines of the first chorus concern her past with "Romeo". They have known each other for a while, but only recently realized and confessed that they love each other. Now they've finally taken the leap and dated. The rest of the chorus decribes how she has grown to know him well and that gradually they've developed this relationship. She describes how she hates when they're kept apart by duties and life. During this they drift apart and a rift forms in their relationship. They "change into" different people than they were and break up, hence the "never meet again" She tells about how her family, in an attempt to "protect her" lie and do all-the-right-things, but they do not realize that they're oppressing her and keeping her from the one she truly loves, much like Cinderella. The first half of the chorus is about her heartbreak. She says how they let the light of their flame "blow" or go out, talking about the breakup. He dumps her and she cries, going from the happy princess Cinderella, to the tragic maiden Juliet. Her love story has turned dark, much like the story of Romeo and Juliet. In the next lines she calls out to him, asking if he remembers how they used to be in love. However, she admits that it is too late to revive their relationship, and that she must move on. She admits though that she still can't get over him, and wants to relive those happy times. The "you are my one Romeo" that the backup sings represents her telling herself that she will only be in love with him from then on. Next we transition to a conversation where she compliments and fawns over Romeo and his new girlfriend. She says all these fake things, but both she and Romeo know that she's lying. Then she jealously describes how Romeo's new "Cinderella" is partaking in all the things that he used to do with Juliet. However, she can't let herself realize that she and Romeo are really separated. She starts to villainize this Cinderella, until she realizes that Cinderella's not the person being outrageous .... She starts to suffer knowing that she can't be with Romeo, and wants to go back and never fall in love with him so she never has to feel the pain of losing him. They promised to love each other always, and she hid the relationship from her difficult family, and now she doesn't want to realize that they are now apart. She wishes that she could just die so she doesn't have to deal with the pain of losing him. At this point there's an awesome guitar solo, and the tempo slows to give rise to two conflicting melodioes. The first shows her hurt at seeing him in love with someone else. The second melody starts with her quoting Romeo's words as he essentially friendzones her. Then it ends with her unable to process his behavior, and her lashing out at him in anguish in the final line. The final chorus repeats her frustration at their separation and the dissavowement of their promise, but she appears to be highly agitated and frantic. She again repeats her death wish, and her sincerity this time is reflected in the backup's lines of "fare thee well my Romeo". We're only left to assume that as the song abruptly cuts off it signifies the cutting off of such a young innocent life.

In the play written by Shakespeare, Romeo went to a Capulet party to get over this girl he liked and meets Juliet. In this song, the girl confessed her love while he was with Juliet. Romeo leaves Juliet and goes with her. This is showing how Juliet feels about this whole situation and what she does to end her pain(she kills herself)

This describes my love life so much. Me and my crush grew up together but he got together with someone else. THAT SOMEONE IS MY BEST FRIEND. Edit: it’s been 4 years. I was a little 7th grader when I made this comment. Honestly, looking back at this and the replies makes me so embarrassed 😭. The capital letters and just the fact that I went online and vented about my middle school relationship troubles. As a junior, soon to be senior, in high school, I think it’s good that I didn’t get with him. I don’t think I was really ready to be in a relationship back then, and I realize now that I didn’t really love him. It was mostly because of how our families always talked about us getting married in the future. It was the pressure to get married and the fantasy of finding that one true love haha. Maybe I’ll find the one someday when I’m older and more mentally stable. 😂
I clicked this cover without knowing who was covering it. I was like... "Wait...why does this sound so much like the Witch Hunt cover that I listened to like a week ago." Great job :3
That happens often but if he doesn't love you then just take a deep breath and do your best to move on. Maybe he's just not the one for you. It already happened to me but you can't change who he likes (Sadly) and it seriously sucks when you know that your crush like your friend especially if it's your BEST friend...
I finally found it, I'm so happy! I found this song under a random file, and listened to it on repeat many years ago. It never left my mind and I wanted to find it again. I found the miku version and countless other versions, but none of them matched this one. It didn't help that the song i listened to was sped up and pitched up so i could barely make out the most of the words. I'm super happy now.
amg so glad you covered this, i was actually planning n covering this with utau, lol amazing how yo come out with them whenever I'm currently listening to them
This...... actually......um...... I used it in like a choir tryouts and.....well...... I gotta say it actually lead me to be a main singer! I love it like how Juliet loved Romeo!

Amazing work, as always!! Your covers never leave me upset, it's like they get better and better with each video, i love them ;W;
HE WILL NEVER BE SATISFIED, I WILL NEVER BE SAAAATISSSSFIEEEDDDD-
Juby should be the next contestant for the voice :D
So.... This is Juliet, right? And she was in love with Romeo, but he's with Cinderella? This entire story is confusing to me.
You said it, It's Me Echo.
You aked for it lmao, so here you go...
(Ugh, I feel you sister....)
Then the backup sings "where art thou Romeo" several times, representing her confusion and inability to understand why the man she loves is acting so heartless all of a sudden.
They "change into" different people than they were and break up, hence the "never meet again"
She tells about how her family, in an attempt to "protect her" lie and do all-the-right-things, but they do not realize that they're oppressing her and keeping her from the one she truly loves, much like Cinderella.
8 years later and I still love it
I like this version better than the perverted origional
This is awesome. I am so impressed with this counter melody. Great composition.
shit yo that sucks
maybe doing yandere?
A.J. Sin The same thing happened to me too, it sucks.
It sucks even more now that i found out my BFF was just using him as a replacement for her other boyfriend that she had lost touch with for a while.
A.J. Sin do you hate her because of it?
wow dang this is so pretty!! i love the counter medley so much
This is VERYYY different from the actual translation of the OG song, but fucc its good
This version is really creative; I really liked your take on the melody during the chorus :D
Juby + Romeo and Cinderella + English cover = death from amazing vocals
Another absolutely beautiful, breath taking English cover. Keep up the amazing work Juby!
that picture is beautiful and scary at the same time.
I clicked this cover without knowing who was covering it.
I was like... "Wait...why does this sound so much like the Witch Hunt cover that I listened to like a week ago."
Great job :3
I have to congratulate you for this incredible song.
I am seriously addicted to it! I love it!
I like the countermelody... almost makes it sound better.
Yay! Great cover, once again! And you picked one that I like... :D
Nicely sung! ;D
I like how you put the "where art thou Romeo?"
Been listening to this since 2015. It’s 2021 now and I still get goosebumps!
I need this on streaming platforms, like yesterday
oh wow i like this, i never heard this version before till now
Gaming Goddess
I have a crush and he is in love with my friend;-;
That happens often but if he doesn't love you then just take a deep breath and do your best to move on.
Maybe he's just not the one for you. It already happened to me but you can't change who he likes (Sadly) and it seriously sucks when you know that your crush like your friend especially if it's your BEST friend...
I'm in love with my best friend but she's dating my enemy
Same..
I guess I couldn't help listening to this again after performing the last act of Romeo and Juliet at school. ^u^" (breaks replay button)
THIS WAS MY FAVORITE COVER IN THE WHOLE WORLD WHEN I WAS YOUNGER OMG
DUDEEEEEE THIS WAS A BANGER TO MIDDLE SCHOOL MEEEEEE BRU WHAT A BOP
Same!!!
Came back for nostalgia & "thinking over you again like I had knifed my brain" is still the most emo line for a love-song I've heard
This is like my thousandth time watching this and all im doing is staring into the guys eyes
I like how the original japanese version by Miku is playing in the bgm XDD *comments like 6-7 years later*
When it gets to the line 'not see,' does anyone else hear Nazi instead?

these lyrics are insane, amazing job!!
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
So..I discovered this song about 2 days ago and oh gods..I cannot STOP listening. Fantastic job. It is beautiful. I adore the lyrics you've created.
What if, Miku is Cnderella, Meiko is Juliet, and Kaito is Romeo 0-0
Rin is Cinderella, Len is Romeo and Miku is Juliet.
Clare Jacobsen I'd think Miku Cinderella, Len Romeo, and Rin Juliet fits better or how I see it Miku Cinderella, Len Romeo, and Haku Juliet XD
ArchMageKnight i was just goin by who sings each song.:)
Clare Jacobsen Miku sings both versions. Rin and Len's version was a cover.
+Passionate Cure Berry Well then I'm ruiting for Meiko x Kaito all the way... (IReadTheOrigionalPlay)
I've been listening to this song since the start of the week. Without stopping except when I sleep.

Another amazing job! Continue the good work, I'll support you with more slideshows!
WHY YOU SING SO GOOD? Please teach me /: I'll pay you
This describes my first relationship. I was the Juliet desperate for love and in the end I was left behind as my Romeo pursued another.

Wow, out of all of the covers, this one is the best!
Great cover!! But which POV was this, Juliet or Cinderella?
I think Juliet.
Juby, thank you! I was considering to right a R&C fanfiction but I was too scared cause there's so many, but after listening to this, falling in love with it, learning the lyrics off by heart and humming along to your sweet voice, I decided I would. It's only on chapter 5 but already has 39 reviews. You always inspire me Juby QuQ
not the best cover... but I liked it! it didn't really go with the beat. But what can I say, I could never do better.
+Jess Bonnefoy Oops sorry 0///0 I didn't read the description. Sorry for that ugh Im such an idiot.
