3D for anyone? The @KandaoVR #QooCamEGO is a stereoscopic camera that comes with a dedicated clip-on viewer and can be edited on phones, tablets or PCs. Moritz takes a look at the compact package to see how easy the camera is to use for hobby video shooters and professionals.

Always a visual pleasure to see some Frankfurt scenery in your videos.
Please make more camera tests like this one you're still my no.1 expert.
Just read about this camera last week and now you're reviewing it, perfect timing ....
Vielen Dank für das Video!! Fenchel & Janisch.
Yay finally new content from my fav creators on YT!!
nice to see you guys reviewing a camera again
Enjoyed every second of this video keep them coming
F&J are back at it again with a camera review thats a good start into the weekend.
Brings filmmaking somehow to a new level!
It certainly is a different type of filmmaking.
Nicely produced and narrated video, but this only covers the info I would expect from a product trailer. I still have all the questions I had going in tbh. Sadly this video is lacking most basic information. Not trying to be overly harsh, just feedback for future video's. I think most people would like to know some specs.
Like what framerates does it film? 24, 30, 50 and 60? Or are some omitted for arbitrary reasons like usually? What's the focal length? How is low light performance? Sensor size? Can it zoom? Just digitally I assume, or not at all? Is the zoom usable? How good is it for pictures? Is there a physical button to start recording / taking pictures? How about battery life? Is there an external charger?
I gave up on stereoscopic videos a few years back bc it was too annoying to edit but this looks pretty tempting.
Great review!! Seems like a great little camera
Wow, I would have not thought one tool can easily create 3D effect!
Until two months ago we also didn't knew such tech existed.
Wirklich beeindruckend, 3D für mein Heimkino!
Jo, sehr cool das ihr mal sowas macht. Das Interesse an 3D dürfte denkbar klein sein aber genau deswegen gibt's von mir 'nen Daumen nach oben!
Loved the footage, tried to watch it with my 3D glasses 😎
I have always been hesistant when it comes to stereoscopical video production that's why I am hoping to see some more advanced model like you mentioned with "pro" features. 😋
Fingers crossed!
This would be awesome if there was a standalone video viewer
My camera is finally on its way 🙂 By the way, what is the gimbal that you used?
Do you have to do implement any special meta data for the YT upload to be correctly displayed?
Yes and no. You can open the MP4 files in the Studio desktop software and when exporting it select an option for the metadata to be included.
Amazingly, and missed in this review, you can automatically stabilize and/or apply rectification (vertical alignment) to the footage right in the camera in view mode! This can be done also with batch processing, choosing which clips to process. No need for the Studio software.
Hi thanks a lot what gimbal are you using ?
My trusty old Aiptec full HD 3D camera is starting to give up the ghost, so glad to see something new on the market. The Aiptec has a lens separation of only 2CM which can lead to weak effects when recording distant objects. Did you take note of the lens gap on this model? It looks like it could be as much as 8CM. Also an inherent weakness in 3D cameras is a narrow field to avoid parallax at the edges, did you compare the field angle between 3D and 2D modes (if there is a 2D mode)?. Nice shots of the neue Altstadt by the way.
I don't have this cam any more (had to return it), but the distance between the lenses was more or less like between human eyes, i.e. about 6.5 cm. In practice it gave good 3D effect at distances of few meters, but for larger distances was a bit too small.
This looks fascinating. Can I use it on my 5 year old Oculus Rift VR Headset? Can it be share on youtube? If so, how would end user use it, with those red and blue 3d glasses? Also what file format, MP4? Lastly maximum recording length assuming external power and big SD card Thank you !
I thought 3D was dead!?? Haha, anyway great stuff. Wouldn't mind seeing more camera reviews from you two again.
Great video, how is the battery life, I am going on a trip soon and so I was wondering how long 1 charge will last. Also if you have a iPhone 15 pro, could you do a comparison between this camera and iPhone Spatial.
I've been using the camera for a few days. The battery is empty after about 12 minutes. But otherwise a cool device with good video quality.
Can't believe I haven't hard of this one yet- just checked the price it's even cheaper than a goPro :-)
When used as a webcan, is the USB output 3D?
How is the battery life with this camera?
Does this camera film VR180 video or spatial 3D video?
is it a 180 3d vr camera?
I bought one and tried to watch the video in Quest but the video was all off. I finally contacted support and they said "Have you upgraded it to the latest firmware version 2.9.6? In the latest version, you can try the Rectification and see if it is better." So what this feature does is fix the horizontal alignment. This process needs to be done manually on each file - maybe there's also bulk update. It takes a while when the process is done and new file is created on the device. I'm a bit baffled...
We will soon publish a video of the new version
When I use the Kandar Ego, and copy the pictures from the camera, they are always in 2D, is there a setting I'm missing?
mobile editing 3d footage is crazy to me but in a good way
Indeed!
Support document lists that microSD cards up to 256 GB are supported. Has anyone tried using 512GB or bigger cards, and knows if they work anyway?
Can the camera be used when charging?
Yes.
Guckt überhaupt noch wer 3d , mehr Spielerei
Im VR Headset oder per Beamer wirkt es sehr beeindruckend.
