- This epic, emotional, romantic, fantasy song was originally released on the "Battlecry" album by @TwoStepsFromHell-Official. I had the opportunity to collaborate with Thomas Bergersen on the original version of "Star Sky" for that album. I wrote the verse melodies, and lyrics, and sang the original vocals for the song. I was delighted to be invited to sing on this cover version of "Star Sky" by @PhilReyGibbons. I hope you enjoy it!

I found TwoStepsFromHell - Star Sky at 2016. I listened to all other covers of this song. It's nostalgic for me. I have memories with it. Too nice to find it again as new music from same voice after about 7 years. I like this version too. You and Phil doing good works

This was one of the first songs that I heard from Two Steps From Hell, and it will always be special for me. I didn't know that you wrote the melody for the verses! This song was my introduction to you, so it's nice seeing this cover. Well done!
Can I ask what story you were trying to tell with the lyrics? They're some of my favourite lyrics to a song, but I've always been curious if my interpretation lined up with your own.
Thank you for sharing your story with me. I'm glad you like the cover version. Writing the melody for the verses was an honor. I don't think very many people know about that aspect of my involvement on Star Sky. The lyrics convey the deep yet indescribable feelings one can have when meeting another human. It is as if you have known them forever; meeting a new old friend. I have had this experience many times in my life. Most profoundly with my partner and husband. I would love to hear your interpretation; what the lyrics mean to you. (I didn't write the chorus lyrics so I can't speak about their meaning.) ✨️Cheers!✨️
@@FeliciaFarerre Definitely a cool thing to know for a massive Two Steps From Hell fan! That's really nice to know what you're talking about in the lyrics. I guess the lyrics in the chorus always gave me the impression that it was a tragic love story, with two people having such a strong connection. However, one of them "cannot be loved" or "deliver (their partner) their love" due to their own mental state, so it can't work out. I've also wondered if it was about two people who physically cannot be together due to the line "twin flames of fire lit in an other time and place". I think I probably picked up on these parts due to my own difficulty forming relationships due to mental illness. It sounds like you hace a much more positive outlook for the meaning of the lyrics than I do! Thanks for the reply! It means a lot to discuss one of my favourite songs with one of the people responsible for bringing it to life :)

I don't think musician artists would want their work put through AI, and us visual artists feel really icky seeing AI being used by others in the creative community...

I hear you. I get it. We are constantly riding the waves of evolution as artists, musicians, writers, etc. It is tricky to find the perfect balance and impossible to please everyone. I was 17 years old when I started working as a professional vocalist and session singer. At that young age, I was already working on movies and movie trailers as well as television, cable programming, and commercials for major brands. It was during the analog era where you had to be top notch at your craft, had to get it right the first time, or you got sacked. With the invention of auto tune and other pitch correction programs, vocalists no longer need to perfect their craft. As a result, there is a lot of apathy and mediocrity. And, of course, nowadays, there are countless vocal libraries available to replace vocalists altogether. My conviction is that there will always be a way to work in harmony with evolution. It is inevitable. I'd like to think there will be a way forward where everybody wins. I trust and hope.
@@FeliciaFarerre the technology is less of a problem than the means of its creation. We can learn to adapt ("evolve" as they like to say) to the tech just fine if given agency and ownership of our work that they stole from us. They very well could have created it off public domain + CC0 art/photos, but instead Stability AI used dirty means to steal data from all over the world without consent, by using a non profit under the guise of "research"....
That's my issue, and the issue of artists in the industry (both hobbyists and professionals.)
We want to be able to share and build community without this feeling that we're feeding a machine without our consent.
It's entirely easy to not make ai art for things until it's made ethically and not off the backs of your fellow creatives who never and aren't given a say in this.
editing to add: apologies if my words sound harsh; I'm not mad at you, just trying to explain, but it's hard to find a gentle way to ask others to hold off using this tech and why, without it coming across as if I'm angry. I'm absolutely angry, but it isn't at the individual, it's at the companies profiting off massive theft and selling lies to comfort the public into using it despite the "controversy." If their PR teams didn't work hard to try and gaslight everyone, I'm 99% sure more people no matter where they came from, artist or non artist, rich and poor, would find this tech scummy (for how they grifted the data set) and it would not be used, and legal efforts would speed up.
We need tighter data privacy laws...
@@ywlumaris ...I read you and hear you. There is so much to say about this, right? I do relate and understand in my own way. Musicians have been regrouping, recovering, and reinventing themselves to accommodate the massive changes in the music industry since the late 90s. With AI, we are all in for huge changes. The tighter data privacy laws will catch up, eventually (?). Until then, I wish all of us well in this age of ambiguity and uncertainty.
@@FeliciaFarerre Visual artists have as well. AI is completely different. I encourage you to look into it by artists Steven Zapatas, Karla Ortiz, Adam Conover even did a segment on it.
