exactly, people think that if somenthing is cliche it's bad, but it's wrong, it's BS thinking. It's not about not using cliche event/situations/plots, everything is about how it is used and executed. In SL it works.

I’m also an old anime watcher, i’m 30 years old now and I rarely watching anime right now but i already watching anime since i’m 9 years old and i love shounen anime, but i stop when i was in my 20s due to boredom and school..so after a long hiatus then when i broke up with my ex i started to try watched anime in 2023 with AOT and also started to try watched another new gens anime and oh boy i dropped so many new gens anime like jjk,spy and many more cuz it’s too much boring, and the only one that survived were only 86,AOT and solo leveling, maybe cuz im also already too old for those boyish type of anime but strangely solo leveling caught my heart immediately and even heal my wounded heart alot when i was in the lowest of my life, it surprisingly inspired me so much and now i’m a totally huge fan. So it’s not because of you all just a new anime watcher but maybe solo leveling just had a charm that brought ppl excited and happy 💪🏻

Don't the gates close one hour after defeating the boss? So that gate that they went into that closed right after they exited, did they beat it instantly after going in, and spent one hour farming?
I love modern animations too. That said, I think an anime shouldn't be dismissed solely because the animation/art style is dated. Though, I've always cared more for story/writing quality, so I'm clearly biased. 😅 Btw, is "Orb: On the Movements of the Earth" on your radar? Would love to see a reaction to that, if it strikes your fancy, 'cause I expect a lot of insights and heated discussions about that one. I live in hope 😏
Would be very cool if you can drop both episode reaction before the new season comes out tomorrow!!! They will be soooo damn good, i'm always exited rewatching them and peoples reactions. I think it's a bit harsh to say that Sl is a generic anime, because it's based on a NOVEL, which was written 10 years ago when stories like this weren't cliche at all. And even tho it's a tiny bit similar to other anime like SAO, there are a lot of differences: Focus on a MC without too much focus on unnessessary stuff or side characters, no need for sexualized bullshit, adult cast, a lot more cruel scenes, not much reveal of the real enemies of the show or the real backstory until a certain point, not too much location or view changes which can be distracting and some points i can't reveal due to spoilers. But it definitely isn't like people say. Not to mention it is the best visual art every made when it comes to manga and manhwa.
I know you guys are watching a lot of shows but I'm going to suggest One Punch Man at some point, it's a funny anime with good action and I'm curious how you guys would react to it.
