    I found with the S1 Elise to get a really firm pedal it is best to remove the front calipers from the hub carrier and invert them while bleeding. This helps to get the air out of the balance pipe that connects the pistons. Also a Gunson Easi-bleed makes it a one man job and much quicker. HTH

    My brakes have been bleeded by a shop but still have a spongy brake feel. Thinking of just pressure bleeding my brakes my self. So could I just skip step 1? Should pressure bleeding also been done from the back to the front? Or could I just do the front as is is there probably some air is trapped? And if after bleeding the fronts the brake pedal is firm I am good to go? Am I understanding this correct? Again great videos, can't wait to see more of your work on your elise in the future! :D

      Thanks for the comments, Much depends on your brake system, single , double ciruit etc.
      I always try the longest pipe first and work my way back. key is to make sure that no air can get in while you do the work. If he basic method does not work, use a vacuum method. Connect a plastic hose to the bleeding nipple of the longest run. Create vacuum on that tube and keep it up untill no more air bubbels come out... keep filling up the main cylinder else you need to start from zero... There are kits on the market that do this, and cheap... I have a video on that in the MGB series.... However even with all the air removed , iy might still be a bit spongy. In that case it might be the rubber tubes that swell if you brake... causing that feeling... that is why I always use steel braded tubes for the flex hoses on the brakes.. Good luck

    Nice video.
    But on the Lotus Elise, you have to bleed the clutch on the same time they share the tank.

    Very interest video. One question, to bleed the system, start from the front caliper or the rear caliper is the same?

      Thank you, The Eise has two separate feeds for the brake system, one for the back and one for the front. So in that aspect it does not really matter. I always start from the back , and then the front.
