I know Marilyn was the biggest star of her time (well, probably of all times) but honestly, Jane Russell doesn't get behind when it comes to beauty. She was not only stunning, but every single one of her outfits in this movie is giving me LIFE. Specially that Black dress, and the red suit.
I haven't had the opportunity to see so many Marilyn Monroe movies. She's actually quite good and so beautiful they didn't need all that makeup and stuff back then. My mom was just as beautiful my dad said get a car rear-ended somebody down in Florida watching my mom walk down the street which was in the 50s. But thanks so much for putting all these wonderful movies out there for us to see after all these years I just love them all

After the read, I immersed myself in vintage fashions of the 50’s, even started using White Shoulders fragrance, which was actually popular in the 30’s, if I’m not mistaken. Vintage pocketbooks became a favorite of mine, 50’s and 60’s. That is how my love affair with Marilyn started, and she became my best loved actress of all time. At one point, I had every one of her movies except her last one, ‘Something’s Got to Give’. I loved Bus Stop and The Misfits best. Favorite movie line was from Bus Stop, “I been trynna be somebody”, which I believe was a statement regarding her life, and indirectly, to mine.
Marilyn Monroe was actually a beautiful, sensual & talented actress who had terrible insecurity issues because of her upbringing. Her helpless act caused men to feel they wanted to take care of her because she was so helpless & fragile. However, she wasn't as helpless or fragile as men thought she was. She was one tough cookie. A woman can't be weak & endure the humiliating treatment she had to endure & still continue showing her face to the public with a dry eye.
Having a clear & beautiful pronounciation is of superlative importance. Words so well pronounced are like a sweet melodious song to the ear, a real masterpiece!!!

WTH did they do to this movie? They’ve cut the very beginning of both Marilyn and Jayne performing at the beginning of the move, they’ve cut scenes and songs. I’m 68 and have seen this movie since the 60s as a kid and haven’t watched it fully in some years but with these cuts and silence regarding certain songs the ladies perform it’s not worth watching. What a horror that’s been done.
It’s crazy that Jane was paid the equivalent of millions in todays money & Marilyn didn’t even have her own changing room lot on site. She only paid $500 a week!
