Spam isn't bad but you definitely need to cook it first. Also beware that it has a very high sodium content unless you get the low sodium variety. As far as cooking it goes there's not really much to say. The easiest way of cooking it is probably searing a 3 to 5 mm slice in a skillet over a medium low heat on both sides until you have a golden brown sear.
Cut it into slices in the can, then cook the patties and eat it with a lot of rice, potatoes or with bread. A little bit of it goes a long way, but maaaaan if it isn't delicious.

Me: "Spam"
Homies: "Daaaaaaaammnnnn"
Y'all gotta try spam fritters it's a british food I think which would probably make most of you already hate it but deep fried spam is the best thing I have ever tasted
Growing up Spam was considered poor people food next to Vienna sausages and Beenie weenies. I use to be so embarrassed when my mom sent us this in our lunch boxes. Now as an adult I’m grateful for what she provided for my brothers and I and Spam is one of my favorite foods
Next video prediction: “guess how it is in Korea”
The commercial thing by the way applies to basically every large company ad ever made
as a hispanic american. ive never had spam in my entire life.
Wow that's so cool I love learning tid bits of info
Great informative content!
Fun fact SPAM isn’t mystery meat like hotdogs from the store, as it’s only meat ingredients are pork shoulder.
This makes me unreasonably happy
I don’t even think I’ve been in a room where someone is eating spam.
Can someone explain what spam actually is? I haven't heard about it before because I'm not from either of those countries
Spam is preserved ham that has been canned for freshness. There are tutorials on YT that show you how to make your own. It started during the great depression(1937). So that people could have protein with long shelf life and cheap. Look up spam fried rice or spam masubi, you won't be disappointed.
It's apparently short for Shoulder of Pork And Ham.. if you wanted to know where the name came from.
im from the uk and i love spam, i always eat it with my noodles as it gives it more flavour tbh
So Native Americans [at least I can speak as a southwestern native] LOVE spam. I remember introducing it to my non-native cousin and she was obsessed!! I knew about the military connections w spam but learning about korean food & how they also incorporate spam surprised me a little until i learned about the historical connection
Hawaiian residents eat *5 cans of spam per person per year*
i’ve actually never had spam before, and i’d be interested to try it!
Born in Hawaii, moved when I was six. But my parents kept the spam in their cooking so it’s weird to me when people say it’s gross and I was shocked when I found out they had it in Japan.
Having a family with military roots sure has it's perks
dude, i'm literally having spam for dinner tonight, my computer is listening-
I had a dream about spam last night... I opened my dream can of spam and it was only half full. I woke up out of shear rage.
Kinda wonder where the other half went.
Spam is a real high end luncheon meat in our place but we could get local ones for cheaper and they taste good enough
Spam is so good. You really build a sense of appreciation for it when on a tight budget. fried spam sandwiches and spam and rice. 😊
I recently tried spam musabi and fell in love 💕 I can't believe I've spent so much of my life missing out
Spam ads in south Korea are like perfume commercials in the U.S
I contribute to a good 1/4 of spam consumption in the US lmao, my family likes to buy groceries in bulk so we don't have to shop as often. At one point we had like 20 cans of spam in the house but tbh there was a sale at costco
I live in the South “USA” and I’ve grown up frying spam for breakfast with eggs and grits. So good!
I love spam, I’ve eaten it since I was little and it’s a very big thing in my culture. We usually eat it for breakfast or lunch with rice.
I love spam. When I was little my dad would make a fried spam sandwich with mayo tomato and salt and pepper. For the last two months I would eat that almost daily. My current craving of spam is egg spam and green onions cooked together for breakfast.
Spam is one of the most amazing types of meat I've ever consumed in my life, and I've tried tons of types of meat and for the cost, it seems well worth it!
Yep great vid man thanks
I grew up eating it! My father who was a Vietnam veteran was obsessed with it. My mom ate it when camping growing up. My only complaint is how expensive it is now 😭
POV:you didn't even know what spam was until you watched the video.
I'm ngl dude Spam is actually really delicious.
I've never had spam before I have to try it after you describe it's juice the flavor now
spam is kinda the same vibe here in the philippines, only thing is it’s pretty expensive compared to most canned meats here so ppl don’t buy it as much and bcos it’s more expensive it’s a little “luxurious” to where some stores have it locked in glass cases next to normal canned goods, it’s more common to see them locked in provincial areas tho, not so much in the big cities
That’s funny that it says the Americans are huge consumers of spam but I can’t think of one time I ever saw someone eating it growing up 😂😭
Hawaii and SoKor should collab with that SPAM love!
Idk why some ppl don’t like spam it’s like really good with rice and bacon and if you don’t like it that’s ok but ppl sometimes judge it by the looks of it 😅
I looove Spam. I'd gladly accept one as a gift. Every time our relatives send a Balikbayan box, all of us will be pumped for a Spam dinner. I was offended and bewildered when my grandmother mentioned that Spam was considered junk food and poor people food in the States.
What's funny to me though is the fact that I very rarely even see people eating spam here in the US unless it's in a Korean dish we've heard about lol
In Hawaii, span is really popular. I've been eating it since I can remember lol we have spam musubi and fried rice. We eat it so much so, that McDonald's in hawaii serve it too! Lol my favorite way to eat it though, is when the outside is crunchy. I'll eat it anyway, but prefer when it crunchy with white rice. We also consume it in 'saimin'. Its so good! I haven't tried anything other than the original though, but have seen other flavors and I'm curious which one people think is the best, other than the original if they like spam 🤔🤤
One receipe reminds me of one of my grandmother.
Red noodles are European noodles with tomato concentrate and fried Fleischwurst or something like spam, diced.
